Ascension of The Unholy Immortal-Chapter 375: Hidden agenda (1)
The woman, who had so unexpectedly become their savior, was none other than Yue Xin.
They knew little about her origins or her true strength, but her actions spoke volumes. She had possessed the foresight to sense the impending doom, and had orchestrated their escape with remarkable speed and precision. She had used a unique artifact to create a secret space tunnel while evading the watchful gaze of the three formidable Void Return Realm experts stationed outside.
These were the survivors of the Heaven’s End Pavilion, those who had managed to escape the clutches of the Nether Sovereign’s forces. Elder Shi, Vermilion Blade Lian, Thrice-Cursed Hong, and a handful of other core members.
Among them was Ren Shui who turned his towards the distant void where the Astral King had stood.
"The Nether Sovereign..." He murmured with a barely audible voice. "They will pay for what they’ve done."
Yue Xin’s gaze fell upon him momentarily before returning to the group. "Now that you are well," she stated, "I will take my leave."
As Yue Xin turned to depart, Elder Shi took a step forward, raising a hand in a gesture of farewell but also of plea. " Wait, Young Miss, We owe you a debt that cannot be repaid. Please, allow us to at least offer you some form of gratitude."
Yue Xin paused, her eyes thoughtful as she considered his words. "There is no need for that," she replied softly. "I did not help you for reward or recognition. Your survival is enough."
Vermilion Blade Lian, her eyes still sharp despite the fatigue, spoke up, "Even so, we cannot let your kindness go unrecognized. At least tell us where we might find you in the future, should we be able to assist you in any way."
A gentle sigh escaped Yue Xin’s lips as she looked at the earnest faces before her. "Very well," she conceded, "if fate wills it, we may cross paths again. But until then, focus on your recovery and rebuilding what was lost."
The group nodded solemnly, understanding the wisdom in her words. They knew the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, but Yue Xin’s intervention had given them hope—a rare and precious gift in their time of need.
Before she could take her leave, Thrice-Cursed Hong, who had been silent thus far, spoke up. "Miss Yue Xin, if you ever need allies in your journey, know that the Heaven’s End Pavilion will stand with you. Our paths may diverge now, but loyalty binds us beyond the realms."
With a final, respectful nod that acknowledged each member of the group, Yue Xin turned into the vast expanse, her figure gradually fading into the shimmering starlight.
Not far from the hidden refuge of the Heaven’s End Pavilion survivors, Yue Xin stood alone, the desolate landscape mirroring the gravity of her thoughts. A soft chuckle broke the silence.
"I don’t really understand why you would waste this favor of mine on these guys?"
She turned, her expression composed, to face an ordinary-looking youth who had materialized seemingly from thin air. He wore simple robes, and his features were unremarkable, yet an aura of profound power radiated from him, subtly warping the space around them.
"I am grateful for your consideration, Lord Emissary," Yue Xin replied with a respectful voice.
The youth—Lin Xuan—laughed with a warm, disarming sound that didn’t quite fit his unassuming appearance. "Cut the formality. Call me Senior Brother."
Yue Xin’s eyes flickered with surprise, a hint of genuine curiosity surfacing. Then, a charming smile bloomed on her face, practiced yet undeniably captivating. "Okay then, Senior Brother."
Lin Xuan’s eyes sharpened almost imperceptibly, a hint of something intense and unreadable flashing before his expression smoothed back into that disarming smile. "Actually, I’ve been rethinking things. I have a revised offer for you."
"Oh?" Yue Xin tilted her head, a thread of confusion lacing her voice. "Revised how?"
Lin Xuan took a step closer, his presence becoming more palpable, the air thickening with unseen energy. "How about I take you to the Upper Domain now?"
Yue Xin’s surprise was more pronounced this time, her carefully constructed act momentarily wavering. The invitation was tempting, Hesitation begin to flicker in her eyes.
Seeing this, Lin Xuan’s expression softened, a knowing glint in his eyes. He let out a soft chuckle. "Ah, I see. A little premature on my part. You’ve got loose ends to tie up down here, hmm? Or perhaps…" He paused, his gaze piercingly insightful. "…a greater plans.. ahead?."
Yue Xin looked at him with genuine surprise, the carefully crafted mask of composure momentarily forgotten. It seemed this Lord Emissary was far more perceptive than she had anticipated. She had expected an arrogant, entitled powerhouse, but instead, she found a considerate and insightful individual.
"No need to be surprised." Lin Xuan flicked his hand, and countless shimmering green light particles emerged, swirling and converging until they coalesced into a magnificent golden jade token. The word ’Emissary’ was inscribed on it in ancient characters, radiating an almost palpable sense of authority.
Yue Xin’s eyes narrowed slightly, her mind racing to comprehend the significance of this gesture. "Senior Brother, don’t tell me you..."
Lin Xuan let out a good-natured chuckle and tossed the token to her with casual grace. "When you’re ready to move on, just infuse that with your divine sense. I’ll know."
Yue Xin accepted the golden token with a mixture of appreciation and lingering skepticism. She carefully stored it away. "Senior Brother Lin… I don’t know what to say."
"No need for farewells," Lin Xuan interrupted gently, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "We’ll meet again soon enough. And when we do, I expect you to be ready to fly."

He waved his hand dismissively, and his figure began to dissolve into swirling green light particles, fading into the surrounding environment until he disappeared completely, leaving only the faint scent of ethereal blossoms in his wake.
Yue Xin stood motionless for a moment, a knowing smile slowly spreading across her face. "Lin Xuan is proving to be more intriguing than anticipated. It appears dealing with him will be a challenge."
