Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power-Chapter 90 - : I’ll Make Up the Difference for You
Horreo was still troubled by the goblin situation when Tristan came in with a big gift, eliminating the leader, Bonecrusher, right off the bat.
As for the reward, that was for the city lord to decide. Horreo’s job was simply to report the situation.
Thinking this over, Horreo steadied himself and praised, "Rest assured, warrior. You’ve made an outstanding contribution. The city lord will definitely reward you generously."
He paused for a moment, then continued more tactfully, "However, it’s quite late. It might be disruptive to approach the city lord at this hour."
Tristan nodded in agreement. "You’re right. We can wait until morning to see the city lord."
It was already around 3 or 4 AM in the game, and getting Horreo up had been the limit. With Horreo on his side, the reward was guaranteed, so there was no rush.
Tristan then discussed the battle details, and when he revealed that Dark Horizon had been secretly orchestrating things, Horreo’s expression turned serious.
That organization was notorious for its evil deeds.
For Dark Horizon to have its eyes on Davi City was bad news.
"Are you sure it’s Dark Horizon?" Horreo asked, not quite ready to believe it.
Tristan wasn’t entirely certain. After all, he hadn’t found any direct evidence on Bonecrusher. But he felt like it was highly likely.
Horreo might not know, but Tristan knew all too well—Dark Horizon was the main antagonist faction in ExoGenesis’ first major update.
And Bonecrusher wouldn’t have lied to the Goblin Leaders like that.
Thinking of this, Tristan firmly nodded. "Yes, it’s Dark Horizon!"
Even if it wasn’t them, blaming it on Dark Horizon was no problem. After all, they had a terrible reputation.
Horreo narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "Right, it’s definitely Dark Horizon!"
Why not place the blame on them? They had caused enough trouble already. What difference did one more incident make?
And, the more serious the situation sounded, the more likely the city lord would take it seriously.
Perhaps they would even recruit more soldiers, which would increase Horreo’s influence.
Besides, with Horreo’s knowledge of Dark Horizon, if word got out, even if they had nothing to do with it, Dark Horizon would likely admit to it, just to enhance their own evil reputation.
Organizations like them were always competing for attention in the shadows. Everyone wanted to make a big impact and stand out.
Horreo and Tristan exchanged glances, and both read the same message from each other’s eyes. It was a mutual understanding.
After discussing for a while, Tristan stood up and bowed, "Horreo, get some rest. I’ll come back for you in the morning."
Horreo agreed with a smile. "It’s settled."
After leaving Horreo’s residence, Tristan headed to the shop. He had received a message from ShieldBreaker saying that the player had already arrived in Davi City.
Tristan’s shop was located at 5 Provence Avenue, which was the core shopping district of Davi City.
Even in the mid-late stages of ExoGenesis, it was still a rare opportunity to own a shop in such a prime location. As the game progressed, it would become increasingly difficult.
Securing the shop early on was a huge advantage for future development.
Arriving at the shop, Tristan saw a figure idly counting the leaves in the flower bed under the bright streetlights. It was ShieldBreaker, the player who had recently revealed the first Guild Token.
Though ShieldBreaker didn’t display his name tag, Tristan, with him on his friends list, knew exactly who he was. He approached and greeted him, "Sorry to keep you waiting."
ShieldBreaker turned around.
He had a handsome appearance, a tall figure, and was dressed in a finely decorated combat outfit with a long knife hanging from his waist.
Tristan was taken aback again. "A Pursuer?"
ExoGenesis was full of surprises, with so many classes it was hard to imagine them all. The Pursuer was one of the hidden professions, known for their tracking skills and extra suppression abilities against malicious players with red names.
But the most unusual thing was that this profession was not gained through quests—it was based on pure chance.
When ShieldBreaker heard this, he was a bit stunned. His profession was something that was completely unknown to outsiders.
"Looks like you really know your stuff," he said, impressed. "How did you know about Pursuers?"
Tristan casually replied, "I heard about it from an NPC in the newbie village."
ShieldBreaker nodded, finally understanding. He didn’t dwell on it too much and instead asked, "So, when do you plan to auction the Guild Token?"
Tristan had already made up his mind. "The day after tomorrow, in the morning."
He had already agreed with Horreo to open the shop the day after tomorrow.
ShieldBreaker hesitated slightly.
Was that too late? If another Guild Token appeared before his, the one he held wouldn’t be as valuable.
Top guilds placed great importance on the honor of being the first to establish a guild, but the second and third weren’t given as much attention.
Tristan understood ShieldBreaker’s concerns and responded confidently. "Don’t worry, let me explain."
"Go ahead," ShieldBreaker said politely.
Tristan smiled and continued, "Though many of the big guilds are trying to be the first to establish a guild, they’re also preparing to raid BOSSes in hopes of getting another Guild Token."
ShieldBreaker immediately nodded. "Exactly, that’s what I’m worried about. I’ve heard that Shadow Legion, IFA, Wraith Vanguard, and the Round Table are all trying."
Tristan smiled and asked, "So, have they succeeded?"
He paused for a moment before confidently saying, "Don’t worry. Guild Tokens aren’t so easy to drop. If another Guild Token is sold before yours, I’ll make up the difference—whether it’s in equipment, skill books, gold, or cash. It’s up to you."
Even if the first Guild Token sold for billions, Tristan was confident he could cover the difference.
This confidence came from his strength.
ShieldBreaker cupped his hands in salute. "You’re very generous. I can’t be too stingy myself. Honestly, I just want to sell my Guild Token at a higher price, so I’m happy to play along. If someone else beats me to the punch, I’ll take responsibility for it."
ShieldBreaker chuckled lightly. "If someone else gets there first, it’s just fate. There’s no need to worry about it. Besides, I believe the second Guild Token will still fetch a good price."
Tristan gave him an appreciative look.
This was someone with talent.
If Tristan were to create a guild later, he’d definitely consider inviting him.

This kind of relaxed mindset was something that most players lacked.
Most would be panicking and desperate to sell their Guild Token as soon as possible, worried it would lose value.
But not ShieldBreaker.
Tristan casually asked, "Do you have a guild already?"
Many players came from other games, and some even joined guilds before starting, which was why Tristan asked.
ShieldBreaker replied, "No. I’m a lone wolf when I play games."
Tristan seized the opportunity and asked, "If I set up a guild later, would you join?"
Without hesitation, ShieldBreaker answered, "Of course."
