Assassin Dad and His Genius Daughter-Chapter 13 Whisper
"Gentlemen! Could you tell me what is the name of the man you mentioned?"
Their eyes shriveled with fear upon seeing the mysterious man donning a clown mask, they thought they must've hallucinated and ended up in a horror movie.
Ren Ye didn't approach them as he stared at them for a very long time with blank eyes, causing a slight fright to them. One of them started coughing blood as it splattered onto the ground, Ren Ye casually grabbed his neck and placed two fingers onto his neck, pressing it lightly.
"Speak," Ren Ye ordered coldly, "I'll relieve you of your pain if you tell me who is that man?"
He pressed it gently, cautiously seizing the poison from his veins before it began to spread quickly and cause him to have a seizure. He specifically did this to the man who had mentioned the cultivator, giving no mind to others who were slowly losing their vitalities.
"What…"
The dark-skinned man with a scarred blackened arm continued to cough intensely as he blurted out only one word. Ren Ye was extremely patient and answered him with a toneless voice, "The man who had proclaimed himself to be a demonic cultivator…"
He increased the strength of his fingers slightly, giving the man another chance to take a breath and answer his question, "Tell me before I sent you to another round of torture…"
The man took in a big breath as his chest heaved up and down immensely, he struggled to speak out and his body shrank from hearing he would suffer another agonizing round of pain, "Mao Bo…"
Mao Bo?
Ren Ye's eyes dimmed significantly as he pressured him into answering more questions, "Where is he? How did you meet him?
The man tried to shake his head as he let out a bitter cough with a heavy breath in between, "We met two weeks ago at an auction…"
"He has left," his eyes began to recover rapidly, "For Beikang!"
Ren Ye wanted to inquire more but upon discovering his vitality recovering quickly, he immediately retracted his two fingers and allowed to poison to resume its continuous spread.
'If he is indeed a transmigrator, he is already one step ahead of me!' Ren Ye thought with a deep and complex face, 'Mao Bo is his name…'
He lowered his head as he fiddled with the metallic pole in his hand before lifting his head and casting his ruthless eyes onto the four men in their weakest state, he lifted the pole in his hand and glared at them with a condescending smile.

Ren Ye eventually returned to his house after clearing out every piece of evidence with the help of the system and took out all of his costumes, placing them into his inventory; allowing him to hide the pieces of evidence he had on him.
He hopped onto a high platform and opened the windows to his room, he had it opened slightly before leaving hence allowing him to easily come inside. Upon entering, he found Old Yi in a lotus posture; his eyes closed as he breathed in and out.
He didn't know whether to hop onto the bed or wait for him to be done with it, Ren Ye immediately got a notification from his system.
[Ding! User has encountered a possible transmigrator!]
[Beware of him! User isn't in an ideal state to take out another transmigrator yet! User must discern the condition of his system first!]
Upon seeing the blue screen, Ren Ye was slightly taken aback by the sudden warning,
'It seemed like what I had guessed was written down in the system automatically…'
Old Yi opened his eyes slowly and glanced at him with unconcealed shock, "Who did you meet?"
Old Yi approached him and entered into the sea of consciousness, allowing them to converse without having anyone overhear, 'I didn't encounter him directly but I heard his name from someone else…'
Ren Ye narrowed his face to the ground as he sat on the ground, 'His name is Mao Bo and from the man's words, he had proclaimed himself to be a demonic cultivator in the past.'
Old Yi acknowledged with a hum as he couldn't help but make a perplexing remark, 'He is being high-prolific for no reason, it wouldn't be long before another transmigrator decides to take him out.'
Ren Ye guessed it would be his outcome and continued to inform him, 'He apparently left for Beikang, which I could assume to be the order of his system, no?'
Old Yi let out a bitter laugh, 'I cannot confirm such a thing, systems work differently; some may work the same as us but some don't.'
'The only way to confirm is to be careful of all.'
Ren Ye nodded his head and glanced toward the screen, 'I think I can advance into the next stage of cultivation…'
He discovered another bar had appeared on screen,
[Cultivation]
Ren Ye pressed it and another window popped up with details of his current stage.
[Current Stage: Energy Gathering Phase]
[Exp: 50/50]
[Advance]
He didn't immediately click on [Advance] yet, thinking inside his head. 𝐟𝐫𝗲𝙚w𝚎𝐛𝙣𝐨𝙫𝘦𝗹.c૦m
'What did I do to suddenly complete this stage so quickly?'
Old Yi chuckled inwardly, 'Energy Gathering Phase is the most useless yet most important part of cultivation, it gives no power nor gives any information for a user to advance further. It randomly allows the user to advance whenever they feel like it.'
'It is an extremely rare case if someone didn't manage to advance from that phase though, the cultivators only needed to be themselves to advance into the next stage. It is also the most important because it is the first and foremost phase of your cultivation!'
Ren Ye nodded his head as he absorbed all the new knowledge inside his head, he proceeded to click on [Advance] after asking Old Yi if it was safe to proceed further. Old Yi had told him to do so.
[Advancement Details: User must lie in a bath of ice-filled bath for four hours or stay inside a cold room at 0 degrees for three hours.]
"…"
'This is quite easier than I thought,' Ren Ye commented with a dry smile, 'I should be able to do this tomorrow or two days later after landing on Beikang.'
Hmm, what superpower will I have after advancing?
Old Yi humphed with discontent, 'Ice is surely easier than Storm, I had to get electrocuted for ten minutes before I could advance!'
Ren Ye stood up from his sheet as Old Yi informed with a gentle tone, 'The little girl was quite stubborn after finding out her Papa was away…'
He frowned slightly, 'Did she find out where I was?'
'I told her you went to buy milk for tomorrow's breakfast, she seemed to stare at me with strange eyes,' Old Yi shook his head with a strange tone, 'She proceeded to sit down and draw a couple of pictures before losing her patience and went to sleep.'
Ren Ye didn't speak as Old Yi sighed with laziness, 'I am tired today, I need to rest…'
[System is shutting down at this moment!]
[Recharging]
'He didn't do anything today, how come he's much more tired than I am?' Ren Ye furrowed his eyebrows with skepticism.
Ren Ye approached the table Jia'er and he had sat earlier today with light steps. He discovered another two pieces of paper were placed on the table; crayons were laid in a mess. He lowered his calm tranquil eyes onto the pieces of paper and extended his hand to take them; observing the pictures closer.
The first picture was of them on a red bench with a white cloud and the bluish sky surrounding them. With his keen eyes, Ren Ye was able to discern it to be on a Ferris wheel.
His eyes widened slightly with complicated emotions before being replaced with a much softer light.
In the drawing, she had drawn him with an extremely gentle but yet unfamiliar smile on his face as he held her tiny hands and they both looked toward the sky. The little girl in the picture pointed toward the sky with her tiny finger, cheering in joy as she had the biggest smile on her face.
They were meticulously crafted with a lot of details added to them, Ren Ye was immensely impressed and felt unexplainable emotions inside his heart after seeing the picture; his chest slightly throbbed.
The other picture contained an additional person, a woman whose face couldn't be seen clearly and was covered with haze. It was of him holding the little girl up and lifting her to the sky, his face was plastered with a content smile as she extended both of her arms, pretending to be a bird.
The only flaw she had with these drawings was the immaturity of her sketching skill, she hasn't had many experiences drawing a connection of the lines and polishing it.
Other than that, it was extremely impressive. At that moment, Ren Ye had come up with plans to send her to an art school.
'Is this her mother?' Ren Ye had noticed the additional appearance of another person in the picture with great interest.
Ren Ye didn't speak although his face was tinted with a much softer light, he took the two pieces of paper and slowly walked to his closet. He crouched down quietly and took out a silver safe from underneath it; he had bought it to keep his gifts and precious items inside it.
He changed the password of the code and placed the two pieces of paper into the safe, making sure it was separated from his other things and untouched before locking it securely.
Ren Ye stood up and went to his bed, finding the little girl was deep in her sleep. She had snored softly in her sleep, pouting her lips as she shifted slightly upon hearing his footsteps.
He sat gently on the bed and helped tuck her blanket, the moonlight radiated from the gaps of curtains and onto his gentle face.
Ren Ye laid down and went to sleep while retaining his softness; he fell into a deep sleep.

In the dazzling and buzzling city of Beikang, radiant lights were lit on every street in the city. Pedestrians strolled along the pavements despite the dark gloomy night; several cars and buses honked on the roads.
In Luxury Hotel,
In the center of the luxurious suite, a woman with a captivating figure lay vertically on a white-sheet bed. The air conditioner in the suite emitted strong and icy-cold air, causing the woman to shiver slightly under her quilt. Her closed eyes opened slightly and her alluring eyelashes fluttered lightly.
She had a pair of magnificent hazel eyes brimming with complexity and unexplainable emotions, cold sweat dripping from her head of black luscious hair.
She pursed her cherry lips tightly into straight lines as she couldn't help but mutter a name; a name she had heard of in all of her dreams for the past few weeks.
"Ren Ye…"
