Chapter 216: The Fallen God

The Prophet didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he looked at the Flower of Eternity. Countless memories passed through his eyes.

It looked like an entire eternity had passed within those eyes. In the end, he sighed and looked at Daniel.

"When you reach my level, you’ll realize you’re not nearly as powerful as you think you are..." He didn’t say anything more.

Daniel stayed silent, but strangely, he could feel the Prophet’s sorrowful tone.

It reminded him of a lion trapped in a cage—someone who thought he was ruling, only to realize he had been a prisoner all along.

Why does the Prophet feel like this? Could it be related to the Pagoda? Or maybe even the god Horvand?

"Can you tell me about Horvand?" His hesitation about accepting the decision grew even more.

Maybe it was all just in his head and the Prophet wasn’t dissatisfied at all. Still, Daniel didn’t want to risk losing his freedom.

"Horvand? He’s a god. Actually, one of the Seven Great Gods. What you should be worried about isn’t him... it’s the Order of the World that limits us." The Prophet smiled, though his smile couldn’t be seen.

Daniel nodded. What the Prophet said gave him a lot of information. First, that "Great God" probably wasn’t just a title, but a power level.

Second, something called the Order of the World exists. Daniel strongly doubted that the Prophet would say anything without reason—so either this Order truly exists, or it refers to someone.

However, he didn’t ask any more questions, since he could see the Prophet wouldn’t answer anything else about that subject.

"I’ve made my decision. I’m ready to accept the leadership of the Eternity religion," Daniel said. Accepting the Prophet’s offer had many reasons.

First of all, in his own era, the religion of Eternity was completely gone—so technically, he wasn’t actually going to lead a religion. Second, by accepting this role, he could find the location of the Pagoda of Eternity.

And third, even if he wanted to rebuild the religion, with his [Enchanter of Hearts] skill, it wouldn’t be difficult at all.

Of course, he knew that true faith had to come from the heart, and forced or fake belief not only gave no benefits, but could actually hurt him badly.

Though he didn’t plan to use his skill to force anyone, it would at least help speed up the process.

"Good," the Prophet said calmly, and then looked at Daniel’s body carefully. Before, he had only given Daniel a normal glance, but now, if he was to make him his successor, he needed a much closer look.

"Undying Soul of Dragon? How did you manage to get something like that with your current level—and as a human no less?" He was shocked, but didn’t give Daniel a chance to explain before continuing.

"Legacy of Death? So you already have the inheritance of a Great God... Hmm? This body... I can feel the power of Death and the Stars from it, but I’ve never seen anything like this. Does it have a name?"

Daniel gave an awkward smile. He had hoped to hide those things—but who could have guessed that the Prophet would be able to see everything with just a glance?

"It’s called the Indestructible Body of Death."

The Prophet nodded and continued examining his body. But then suddenly, he stopped, sensing something. Fear appeared in his eyes—and if Daniel could see his face, he’d realize the Prophet’s expression now looked exactly like that Empress’s, the one they saw in the Broken Valley.

The Prophet took a few steps back for a moment. His body trembled slightly, and his instincts screamed at him to turn around and run.

But he overcame all of that and looked at Daniel with a completely new perspective.

"Is something wrong? Are you okay?" Daniel had noticed the Prophet’s reaction too.

The Prophet didn’t respond. He remained silent and once again checked Daniel’s body, trying to make sure he hadn’t made a mistake.

Unfortunately, he hadn’t.

"How do you have the blood of a Fallen God?"

"The blood of a Fallen God? You mean divine blood? I got it after awakening," Daniel scratched his head briefly.

He had wanted to hide it, but hiding something from someone who already knew about it would be pointless—and judging from the Prophet’s reaction, it was clear that divine blood wasn’t something simple. There was probably a terrifying force within it.

"After awakening? From that same Will that appears in the future..." The Prophet was, of course, somewhat familiar with that awakening. freeweɓnovel-cøm

He had seen a revelation from the future—one that spoke of Daniel’s coming, the future’s condition, and many other things.

But there was one unclear part in that prophecy. In the end, the moon falls, the stars fall, the sun falls—and even the sky itself falls.

Mountains of corpses and rivers of blood flow. And among the countless corpses, a single unclear figure stood.

Back then, he didn’t understand what "everything falls" truly meant. But now, after seeing the blood of a Fallen God in Daniel’s veins, he finally understood the truth.

Even so, he looked at Daniel and decided it was better not to say anything. If the Will that had saved the world from destruction had done nothing, then he too would leave things to follow their course.

"You’d better hide your bloodline as much as possible. Never—and I repeat, never—mention the Fallen God anywhere. And before you ask, no—I won’t tell you who that god is. Just know that it’s a terror that once shook all realms and is known as the greatest sinner of the realms."

Daniel swallowed hard and nodded. He had already known that the Fallen God wouldn’t be an ordinary being—especially since the Mother System had described him as the one who triggered the apocalypse.

Even so, the Prophet raised his hand and placed a seal on Daniel’s bloodline. This seal would hide his bloodline from the senses of other demi-gods.

However, he also noticed another seal already placed on Daniel’s bloodline.
