Back to the 80s: Raising my Wolfy Boyfriend-Chapter 521: Covered in Dust and Travel Stains
After the family left the house and it was finally quiet, Gu Jin hurriedly finished her leftover breakfast, tidied up, washed up, changed clothes, and went out.
The meeting place she agreed on with Cheng Shi’en was the restaurant at Haijiang Hotel, and there was still half an hour until their meeting time, so she had plenty of time.
Twenty minutes later, the taxi Gu Jin was riding in stopped at the entrance of Haijiang Hotel.
She paid and got out of the car, and there was already a service staff waiting outside.
"Welcome to Haijiang Hotel—"
"Miss Gu, you’re here!"
Upon seeing Gu Jin, the staff immediately changed their greeting.
Gu Jin smiled and nodded at the service staff, handing the change from the driver to them.
It wasn’t much, only dozens of dollars, but for the staff here, it was a small fortune.
Seeing that it wasn’t a large bill, the staff accepted it.
They had been instructed by the manager not to accept large tips from Miss Gu.
"I’m meeting someone at the restaurant on the ninth floor."
"Please follow me."
The service staff personally escorted Gu Jin to the lobby.
Gu Jin didn’t see Li Qingfeng, who often appeared there, in the lobby.
At the elevator, the service staff personally pressed the button for her.
Gu Jin: "You can go ahead, I can go up by myself."
"Alright, if there’s anything you need, just let us know."
The elevator arrived, and Gu Jin stepped inside, smiling and nodding at the service staff from within.
When she reached the ninth-floor restaurant, she immediately spotted Cheng Shi’en waiting at table thirty-three, wearing the same outfit as yesterday, looking exhausted. Clearly, he hadn’t slept well.
As Gu Jin walked toward him, he seemed to sense her presence and quickly raised his head.
Upon seeing Gu Jin, his eyes lit up with a surprising brightness.
It was as if he had seen his savior.
Gu Jin slowly sat across from Cheng Shi’en, teasing him, "What, you don’t recognize me after just seeing me yesterday?"
Cheng Shi’en’s tense demeanor suddenly relaxed, and he leaned forward on the table, feeling relieved.
He honestly said, "I thought it was all a dream. Even though we talked on the phone last night, it still felt unreal. I wondered if someone was playing a trick on me. If not for the note I kept, I would have thought I was going crazy!"
Gu Jin smiled gently without speaking, opening the menu beside her to browse through it.
The service staff standing not far away noticed Gu Jin’s arrival and walked up with small steps.
"Miss Gu, you’re here. What would you like to eat?"
This person was an old employee at Haijiang Hotel and knew Gu Jin.
Gu Jin looked up and politely nodded at the service staff. "I’d like a glass of juice, thank you."
"You’re welcome."
The service staff bowed slightly and then turned to Cheng Shi’en: "Sir, what would you like to order?"
The staff’s attitude towards him was even more respectful than when they first met.
Cheng Shi’en wasn’t foolish and realized that Gu Jin must be a valued guest here, and he was benefiting from her status.
Last night, he had been overwhelmed with anxiety. The arguments with investors, combined with the anticipation and excitement since early morning, made him forget that he hadn’t eaten since last night.
He reached for the menu, flipping through it skillfully, "Spaghetti Bolognese, Russian soup, baked cheese mashed potatoes, that’s all."
"Alright, sir."
The service staff took their menus, bowed slightly, and said, "Please wait a moment, you two."
After the staff left, Gu Jin observed Cheng Shi’en.
He was still in the clothes he wore when they met yesterday, looking travel-worn. He wasn’t particularly shabby, but his tired expression showed he hadn’t been well.
