Back to the 80s: Raising my Wolfy Boyfriend-Chapter 520: Cheng Shi’en Calls
The other party seemed to be moving away from the noise; the music was getting quieter and quieter.
Gu Jin joked with a smile: "It’s not even time for nightlife yet, and you’re already starting?"
Qiu Qianghai laughed and said, "Don’t tease me, I’m just testing the sound system. I got an amazing set from abroad. You should come try it out when you have time. It’s absolutely perfect!"
"Sure, I’ll find some time another day." Gu Jin agreed readily.
"So what did you call about? Did you already know I got something good?" Qiu Qianghai’s voice came through with amusement.
She didn’t play coy with him and directly said, "My cousin came to Wanhai City and she wants to transfer to City No. 1 High. Can you help with that?"
"Sure, that’s no big deal." Qiu Qianghai agreed immediately and then asked, "What grade is our girl in?"
He’s already thirty-two but still so unserious, sometimes like a kid.
The previous image of his intelligence and elite aura had already vanished from Gu Jin’s mind, not even a trace left.
Gu Jin snorted with a laugh: "Second grade. Try to find her a class that’s not too troublesome."
Qiu Qianghai understood instantly.
"Not too troublesome," meaning keeping her away from the rich kids in Wanhai City.
"No problem, leave it to me. When does our girl want to start school?"
"You’re always looking to take advantage," Gu Jin laughed and scolded.
"Come on, your girl is like my girl. I’ll make sure to handle everything meticulously."
"You’re so glib!" Gu Jin said helplessly, "Tomorrow."
"Alright, see you at the school gate tomorrow then."
"Good—"
Gu Jin hung up the phone and walked back to the kitchen, meeting three pairs of eyes.
"What are you all looking at me for? Keep eating!"
She sat down beside An Mingji, picked up her chopsticks, and continued eating.
After finishing the shrimp ball in her bowl, she looked up to meet Gu Minmin’s eager eyes.
Gu Jin knew what the girl wanted to ask, so she smiled and said, "It’s all set. I know your grades are good. We’re going directly to the school; just go to class with me tomorrow."
"Thanks, Sister Jin!"
...
However, circumstances eventually changed.
That night, Gu Jin received a call from Cheng Shi’en.
The two decided to meet the next day in Wanhai City.
She still had some vacation time left, so she didn’t need to request leave from the school. But it seemed she wouldn’t be able to go to school with Gu Minmin the next day, and she would have to delay another day.
The issue Cheng Shi’en had was simple; as long as the money was in place, it would be solved.
But she kept thinking, with a golden opportunity knocking right at her door, how could she not extend it a bit longer?
In the morning, when Gu Minmin came excitedly to find Gu Jin and learned that she wouldn’t be going to school with her, her lips pouted immediately.
Gu Jin comforted the girl: "Don’t worry, your brother is also here. Even if I’m not, he’s got your back."
Gu Jiajie nodded, "Don’t worry, Minmin. No one will bully you. Sister Jin is just not going today; you’ll see her in a few days."
"Okay."
Gu Minmin left with Gu Jiajie, turning back every few steps, her eyes still showing admiration for Gu Jin.
Gu Jin was both exasperated and amused by this look of admiration.
She didn’t think there was anything about her that deserved this girl’s admiration, except maybe for being a bit rough in front of her.
"A Jin, I’m off to school now!"
A pleasant young voice brought Gu Jin out of her thoughts.
She turned around to see An Mingji standing with a backpack, greeting her, holding the buns she had bought downstairs in his hand.
"Go ahead, be careful on the road."
"Got it—"
An Mingji ran a hand through his hair, biting the bun as he walked out the door.
The youthful and energetic figure slowly disappeared from Gu Jin’s sight.
