Baron's Son with -9,999,999 Reputation Point-Chapter 139: Naming
Their footsteps finally came to a stop in front of the field. Beneath the fading remnants of twilight, the tomato fruits looked like tiny gems, hanging submissively from their stems.
"Second harvest soon," Lucas thought.
He took a short breath, trying to chase away the awkwardness still lingering in the air. Without a word, he moved his hand. A faint glow shimmered as he summoned Loticentra. The automatic sprinkler appeared in his palm.
He extended it toward Silvara.
"Here," Lucas said briefly.
Silvara did not respond right away. She lifted her face slightly, but her eyes remained fixed on the ground. Her hand rose with a movement that felt heavy, as if all her strength had been drained by the brief conversation on the hill earlier. She accepted Loticentra with a weak grip, her fingers barely holding it firmly.
Lucas watched her for a moment. There was an urge to ask something, or at least throw out a joke to lighten the mood, but he held himself back. He knew that right now, words would only widen the distance that already felt so vast.
The soft spray of water from Loticentra filled the silence between them.
They continued like that until the last plot was soaked. Silence. There was only the sound of wet soil and the hiss of the night wind beginning to cool.
"Young Master! Lady Silvara!"
A shrill, cheerful voice shattered the quiet. From a distance, Liona could be seen waving enthusiastically. She stood beside the open carriage they usually used, her face glowing as if there were no burdens in the world.
"You’re done, right? Come on, hurry up! It’s time to visit The Huzz!" Liona shouted.
Lucas turned his head, then flicked his finger slightly to dismiss Loticentra. The light faded, and the tool vanished.
"Yes, we’re done," Lucas replied flatly.
Silvara remained where she was, staring down at the tip of her shoe, now slightly smeared with mud. She did not react to Liona’s call, as if the voice were nothing more than passing wind.
"Come on," Lucas said softly as he stepped past Silvara.
Silvara finally moved, following Lucas toward the carriage without a sound.
Liona greeted them with a wide smile as they climbed onto the carriage. "The Huzz wants to meet its master." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Lucas nodded. "Alright, alright, I’ll visit him now."
Liona urged the carriage forward. The wooden wheels creaked along the path, carrying them back toward the Manor area. Normally, a trip like this would be filled with bickering between Lucas and Silvara.
But now, the atmosphere in the back of the carriage felt hollow.
Liona, holding the reins at the front, occasionally glanced back over her shoulder. She frowned. This silence felt unnatural to her. Usually there was explosive energy between the two behind her, whether anger or sarcastic laughter. Now? It felt like she was transporting two stone statues.
Something’s off, Liona thought. Why aren’t they arguing? Did they fight? But Lady Silvara doesn’t look like she wants to cut someone’s head off, she looks... sad?
Liona tried to break the ice. "Hey, did you know? This morning The Huzz tried to eat the flowers behind the Manor. Seriously, that horse has a difficult personality!"
There was no answer. Lucas only stared out of the carriage, watching the trees rush past in the darkness. Silvara? She was still staring at the carriage floor as if a secret map were written there.
Liona let out a long sigh. She gave up for now and focused on driving the carriage faster.
When they arrived at the Manor, the carriage stopped right in front of the side gate leading to the stable area.
"We get off here," Liona said.
Lucas jumped down first, followed by Silvara, whose movements still felt slow and devoid of energy. Liona watched her closely. The female knight would usually leap down boldly, but now she looked like someone who had just lost her way home.
"Alright, let’s go see that elite horse!" Lucas said, trying to break the suffocating silence.
Liona climbed down. "Then follow me!" she said in a high-pitched voice, trying to lift the mood.
They walked toward the stable. Silvara continued to follow a few steps behind Lucas, maintaining a constant distance.
As soon as they approached the stable door, a loud neigh rang out.
The wooden door shook lightly, and a pitch-black horse’s head poked out. The moment its eyes caught Lucas, the horse snorted loudly, its ears standing straight up, its head bobbing enthusiastically.
"See? He’s happy right away," Liona said as she approached the horse and patted its strong neck. "Look who I brought you, The Huzz. Your master is here."
The Huzz, the horse gifted by Valeric Rosevelt, looked extremely excited. It stretched its head forward, trying to reach Lucas’s shoulder with its muzzle. Lucas stepped closer, feeling the warm breath from the horse’s nostrils.
"Hmmm... what a strange horse," Lucas muttered as he observed the way the horse looked at him with a gaze that seemed far too "smart."
"Hey!" Liona protested, planting her hands on her hips. "Don’t call him strange! He’s a very good horse, he just has a lot of pride. He knows who feeds him and who has a strong aura."
Lucas only smiled faintly. He stroked the horse’s forehead. Its coat was smooth and warm. At least, the warm welcome from a horse felt more honest to him right now than the tangled emotions he was dealing with with Silvara.
Silvara stood near a stable post, still silent. She watched the interaction with an empty gaze. Liona glanced at her, then looked back at Lucas.
"Oh right, Young Master. You haven’t given him a proper name yet, have you?" Liona reminded him teasingly. "His nickname is The Huzz, but he needs an official name to be more... cool."
Lucas fell silent for a moment, gazing into the horse’s black eyes that gleamed under the stable’s oil lamps. This horse was strong, black, a little arrogant, but extremely loyal in waiting for him.
"Huzzle," Lucas said suddenly.
"Huzzle?" Liona repeated, testing the sound.
"Yes. Huzzle."
Hearing that name, the black horse suddenly let out a sound that resembled laughter, then neighed again while pulling its upper lip upward, revealing a row of large white teeth in an expression that genuinely looked like a wide grin.
Lucas couldn’t hold back his laughter. "Look at that. He’s really grinning. His teeth are so white."
"See! He likes his name!" Liona exclaimed, laughing along, the mood softening slightly thanks to the horse’s strange behavior.
However, in the middle of that small laughter, another maid appeared from the direction of the Manor corridor.
"Young Master?" the maid called out, stopping when she saw them in front of the stable.
Lucas turned. "Yes? What is it?"
