Demons surrounded Nolan, but he was unfazed by their method of intimidation.

There were a lot of demons. However, that was the good thing about it. He needed so much to level up.

Knowing his confrontation with General Kraxus was inevitable, now that he was here, he couldn't slack off and relax.

Before Nolan could think any further about the situation he was in, a demon attack from behind. Nolan sidestepped and drove his ice blade into its head.

Pulling out, the demon fell to the ground.

That seemed to be the declaration of war. As if on cue, all the demons went in for him.

Nolan grinned and charged in to meet the ones in front of him, hands drawn back.

He ducked an attack and cleaved the side of a demon. He went on to slide forward, on his knees, slashing the legs of some demons, causing them to go down on their knees.

When Nolan stopped, he turned around and put all his energy into his legs.

[Iron Tank Active!]

He blitzed forward, past all the downed demons. Blood sprayed from their necks and they all fell.

The system screen flashed in front of him.

[+450 Exp Obtained!]

[Level Up!]

[Level: 5]

[Exp points: 350/1600]

[+5 skill points rewarded!]

[+30 ability upgrade points rewarded!]

[+1 extra ability slot rewarded!]

"Extra ability slot? What does that mean?" Nolan muttered, dodging a claw that came for his face.

He did a backflip and dodged a demon that went for his legs.

"Let me focus, idiot," he cursed, running towards a rock.

He threw one of his blades high in the sky and jumped on the rock, bringing up the main screen of his system.

And it turned out to be what he expected.

[User: Nolan Dagmire

"Two abilities at a time, huh?" Nolan chuckled as he kicked off the rock, ice coating one of his boots. As the blade he threw up got low enough, he perfectly aimed and kicked the hilt with the ice coated boot, with a powerful force.

The blade moved in a blink, taking down three demons.

Midair he turned the second blade into spear, before landing gracefully in the midst of some low-grades.

He spun around, cutting them down.

A demon came from behind and stomped Nolan on the back, sending him crashing into a huge rock.

Nolan coughed out blood and fell to the ground. He raised his head, and as thought, it was one of the demons that wasn't hunched and it held a rusty sword. A C-rank.

Nolan scoffed and pushed himself up. The blood streaming down from the new wound on his forehead suddenly stopped, the wound slowly knitting itself together.

"Oh, that's right. The healing ability I copied the other day was passive," he muttered, feeling the wound close. He then turned to the cracked his knuckles, picking up his ice spear. "Alright, I'm done being toyed with by every goddamn thing in this regression. Assign my skill points to strength and stamina, 3 to 2."

[3 skill points assigned to STR]

[2 skill points assigned to STA]

[• STR: 13

Nolan tightened the grip on his spear and charged at the demon. "Let's try it then," he said.

. . . . . .

Back at the village.

Hayden who wasn't fooled by Liana and Alexander's attempts on trying to help Nolan get away to whatever place he was heading to, sneaked away from the group as it got darker.

He took a horse and set off, making sure he found out where exactly Nolan was.

. . . . . .

Meanwhile, Ace Cyndy and her team were patiently waiting in their new location, while the new Phoenix and Clover guild members who joined them, stayed within the village.

They were a little far from the village, waiting for the demons that were behind Sir Einicht's demise.

Cyndy who stood at the back, kept on making small ice balls and then crushing them, completely lost in thoughts.

"Are you okay, Ace Cyndy?" Someone asked.

Cyndy nodded, though it didn't seem like she heard what he said.

The sound of shattering ice suddenly seized and everyone at the front, turned to look at Cyndy, whose brows were now furrowed.

"Here they come," she said.

They all got their guards up, though there were no demons in sight. Not until there was a ripple in the air, not too far from them. Then a tear, which soon turned into hellgate.

An oppressive aura washed over Cyndy's team, as General Kraxus and his minions walked out.

Kraxus looked around at the set of humans who stood in his way, and chuckled.

He lifted his axe and put it over his shoulder, then he pointed at Cyndy and her team.

The other demons started to charge towards them.

"Go inform the others," Cyndy ordered calmly.

The guy beside her nodded and started running toward the village to call the teams from the other guilds.

Kraxus spotted the informant running from the battle and leapt off the ground. He landed just behind the guy, with a loud thud.

The guy turned back and saw the huge demon grinning at him, axe in hand.

The axe came down, but something exploded from the ground, blocking it. A massive chunk of ice.

"Keep going," Cyndy said to the guy, now standing behind Kraxus.

Kraxus turned around and faced Cyndy, letting his previous target get away.

They both stared each other down, acknowledging their powers from the aura they both exuded.

"Interesting human," Kraxus said.

"A talking demon, huh? I should be surprised," Cyndy replied with a bored tone and dead eyes.

Kraxus's grin grew even wider. "Ah, you will also be entertaining till death."

Cyndy's brows rose up slightly, before going back down as she frowned. "You were the one who killed Einicht?"

"Humans are useless to me. So are their names, but I must say, it sounds familiar. Maybe I did," Kraxus answered.

Cyndy looked down, clenching her fists until she drew blood. The air grew colder and colder, and dark clouds started to gather in the sky, as if preparing a storm.

Kraxus spun his axe and snapped his neck, getting ready for the fight.

But there was just one problem for the demon general:

A fight against "Ace Cyndy" wasn't one he could win in any way.
