Beast Hack: Customizing Beasts and Capturing Beauties-Chapter 268: Gorevile Was Designed to Kill... itself?
Gorevile walked forward and stopped in front of Loreia. It was currently waiting.
It had expected a scream and a cry of agony from Loreia. The slow and painful suffering it loved to witness.
But... after waiting for a long time, it frowned. There was nothing. Not even a whimper.
Gorevile paused as he glanced at Loreia. Why isn’t she screaming?
All beasts, warriors or even experimental beasts like itself were all breaking under its venom, yet this one... She wasn’t reacting at all.
Gorevile gritted its jagged teeth together in annoyance. If the venom wasn’t enough, then it would simply tear her apart.
Without hesitation, Gorevile lunged forward, its massive hand wrapping tightly around Loreia’s legs.
Its grip was tightening as its muscles shifted instantly, redirecting its raw strength into its arms.
The muscles in its arms were reshaped, expanded and thickened.
It then slowly lifted her into the air, holding her upside down and a smirk appeared on its face.
Now, it would rip her in half slowly. It wanted to feel the resistance in her body and the sickening snap of her spine.
It also wanted to see her helplessness expression the most as she realized there was no escaping.
It began to tighten both its grip on Loreia’s legs and started pulling in opposite directions.
One. Two. SHINK!
Gorevile froze as a sudden pain appeared on its chest. It slowly looked down and was surprised to see a spear piercing its chest.
It immediately looked up and found that not only Loreia wasn’t writhing in agony or even screaming. She was instantly grinning.
Gorevile was really confused. It had poisoned her and her body should have been decaying, but now it wasn’t.
Her body wasn’t even injured. Not a single sign of decay could be seen in her body.
Loreia tilted her head and smirked. "Aw, did you think that would work?"
Vance, who watched from the sidelines, was stiffened in disbelief. "How the hell is she still standing?!"
One of the injured investigators weakly muttered. "M-Maybe the venom wasn’t strong enough..."
Vance gritted his teeth, shaking his head. "No. Even though Gorevile held back, the dosage was still enough to paralyze an A-Rank beast."
He snarled, glaring at Loreia. "So how... how the hell did you resist it?!"
Loreia chuckled. "Wouldn’t you like to know?"
Before Vance or Gorevile could react, she ripped her spear free from Gorevile’s torso.
She then spun the spear and drove it straight into one of Gorevile’s massive arms.

"GRAAAAH!"
Grovile howled in pain as it instinctively released its grip on her legs.
Loreia fell down and quickly flipped mid-air, landing gracefully a few meters away.
She stepped back, shaking her limbs before exhaling. "Whew. That was exhausting. I almost thought my life was over there for a second."
She then glanced at Vance and smirked. "But ’almost’ isn’t enough, now is it?"
Gorevile clutched its injured arm, snarling viciously as its entire body trembled.
Vance licked his lips, his frustration quickly turning into excitement. "Don’t think this is over, monster girl."
He gestured toward Gorevile. "You just made things worse for yourself."
Loreia raised her eyebrow, twirling her spear. "Oh? How so?"
Vance grinned wickedly. "Now that Gorevile is injured, it won’t be playing anymore."
Loreia paused. "Huh?"
Vance laughed. "And more importantly... now that’s it wounded... it’s getting stronger and faster."
Loreia glanced back at Gorevile as its body began to pulse unnaturally.
Its muscles bulked up even more, its veins darkened, and its breathing became more erratic.
Loreia clicked her tongue. "Well, that’s annoying. It’s evolving in mid-battle."
Vance smirked again. "Now you will know how fuck you are and you will die today."
He raised his hand, pointing it toward Loreia. "Gorevile, END HER!"
ROOOOAAAAR!
Gorevile lunged forward. Its newly enhanced muscles propel it fast.
Loreia braced herself, planting her feet and readying her spear but suddenly something different happened.
Gorevile’s movements were suddenly stopped and stuttered. It became slow.
Its body also twitched unnaturally mid-charge. It as if something was withging it down, making it sluggish.
Loreia raised her eyebrow in surprise. "Huh?"
Vance’s smirk immediately disappeared as he was in shock. "What the hell just happened?!"
He looked at it closer and realized it. Gorevile’s wound, the area where Loreia had pierced with her spear, was dissolving.
The flesh around the wound was not bleeding. It was melting.
Vance stepped back in shock. "W-What the hell?! Why is its body... rotting?!"
Gorevile was also confused. It was now in enrage as it looked at its own injuries.
Its mutating body was supposed to be healing, but now it was decaying.
Vance was desperately trying to process what was happening and then it hit him.
Gorevile... was poisoned but not by any poison. It was by its own venom. Your next read is at novelbuddy
Vance was surprised but he couldn’t believe it. "No… That’s impossible!"
Gorevile’s venom was stored exclusively in its tail, separated from its main body.
There was always a risk of self-poisoning, but Gorevile was trained to be careful and to never let that happen.
His Gorevile was specifically a different breed that was the best, so how can it be?
Gorevile staggered backward. It began to fall down to his knee.
Its limbs twitched uncontrollably as the purple sludge-like venom ate away at its insides.
Loreia smirked, spinning her spear. "Oh, poor thing. To think that it was poisoned by its own poison."
Loreai then turned toward Vance and smirked. "And you didn’t expect that, did you?"
Vance clenched his fist, digging his own palm with his fingers. "What did you do?!"
Loreia only grinned, pointing her spear at Gorevile’s dissolving wound. "That? I didn’t do anything. Your beast should have done this to itself."
Vance staggered slightly. He was still thinking, What the hell was going on?
But before he could even fully process the situation, a voice surprised him. "Now that Gorevile can’t do shit to me..."
Vance’s body tensed as he glanced back toward Loreia, who pointed her spear at him. "Now it’s your turn to die."
