Beastmen Love-Chapter 167: Rotten Place
Chapter 167: Rotten Place
The dinosaurs and Skalven can agree with something for once: She’s not supposed to be outside like she is now.
However, Skalven doesn’t believe she’s supposed to be near the King either.
"I heard that the King is too brutal. He kills anyone who dares to question him, and for sure he would be interested in you, and to tie you to him he would kill all your mates and lock your cubs. You shouldn’t be going to none of those places." Skalven softly says, worried.
"Yes, he would probably do that. Not as directly like that, but he would do that if that meant locking me with him." Astri answers.
"If you go to Daern’s Tribe, he will also know and will come after you. If you want to avoid him, I’ll have to agree with the spider, you shouldn’t go to any of those places. We should take you to live hidden from people." Troy says.
"We don’t want to live here forever. And we have a mission before going back to our lands. I appreciate you worrying about us, but we need to go to Daern’s Tribe." Astri answers.
"Mission? To sell things? We could go selling anything for you to avoid you being seen." Roy says.
"No. Being merchants and doctors is only a way to disguise who we really are and our real reason to be here."
"Real reason?"
"Remember when you said that Elder Otto is crazy?" She asks the dinosaurs, and they nod in response. "What if I tell you that he’s not?" She smiles at them.
Astri and Claud explained to them the whole story and mission. At first, the dinosaurs didn’t believe it, but when Astri showed her powers by playing with the fire on her hands, that made them shocked.
"My spouses has different powers too. My guards share with me and Claud an eternal life too, even if the capacity of having powers is lower because they’re not my spouses." Astri says.
"I always felt you weren’t like no one else... You’re a.. Goddess." Skalven says, feeling paralyzed.
"In my kingdom, she’s a Goddess. For mermen too. It is very sad to know powerful beastmen like dinosaurs are so blind and numb in the world to think that anything related to Nature is not something to be taken seriously." Beau speaks, with crossed arms, showing how annoyed he is.
"I came from a place where everyone would think the same. I was called crazy many times for talking to plants before knowing who I was. However, it’s not hopeless. Claud saved me from that life, and after that, Wayde, Dieg, Zin.. All of us together can help these people to have a better perspective, don’t you think?" Astri asks.
"That’s why you have few spouses? Because they share your energy?" Skalven asks.
"No. I think I have many spouses. They are the ones I’ve fallen in love with, that’s all." Astri answers.
"You.. love your spouses?" Troy asks, impressed.
"Yes. Very much."
"All of them?" Roy asks, impressed too.
"Yep. For your reaction is not something common around here too, right?" They deny with their heads slowly, wishing to be loved by a Goddess like her. "That’s sad.. Apparently it is something that all cultures have in common in this world. Don’t let females treat you badly, or don’t pick a female just because they offered something in return or just to have a female. That’s my advice for you to find a better female." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Their look is of someone thinking that it is impossible to find someone better than her.
"Are you done with your questions?" Kangki asks, annoyed with their thoughts.
"Why.. did you choose me to be the guardian of your cubs?" Skalven asks her.
"You have a good heart. I can feel it easily. I wasn’t lying about your abilities. You’re the ultimate land warrior to protect my children. If you wish to be, you can stay with us forever." She said, and Skalven was again feeling so happy he couldn’t contain his smile.
"Astri, Kangki, and I can read minds too. We don’t read all your minds constantly, but we have read it a little when we met to check if you’re evil or not. Astri can feel it even before reading. That’s why she knows Leader Bono is the one we need to look after." Claud explains.
They’re shocked at first, but then they look down, embarrassed because they feel like they got caught thinking of doing dirty things with her, and she chuckles.
"I don’t look as deep. Don’t worry. I checked your character, that’s all. I prefer getting to know people the old way. By talking to them. Kangki is the one who goes deep." Astri says.
"To protect you. I want to make sure you’re safe." Kangki awkwardly answers, crossing his arms.
"Well, I don’t read minds, and I know what they were thinking just now." Koa says, serious too.
"Like if you didn’t before becoming her spouse." Pete says to Koa.
None of her spouses can deny that they didn’t have dirty thoughts about her before mating with her and becoming her spouses, but all of them tried to prevent her from getting more spouses too.
"So, tomorrow we will arrive at Daern’s Tribe. Who wants to bet that on the first day there will be a female jealous of Bono?" Astri jokes, and the others laugh.
"Always. If we bet otherwise, we will for sure lose." Zin says.
On the next day, as they’re walking, they finally see big houses made of rock amidst the trees. The tribe is surrounded by a dense forest with tall trees.
As they get closer, they can smell the pungent smell of feces and urine. Astri gags and orders them to stop walking.
"What the actual f*? Do they eat rotten meat? This smell is worse than I ever smelled before." She asks.
"It’s really bad.." Claud says, putting his long sleeve on his face.
"What do we do then?" Galion asks.
Astri’s stomach was bubbling with that smell.
"Only through my dead body will I ever live there. None of you will live there. At least until that place is clean." She says, then she jumps outside and runs behind the carriage to throw up.
Her males run to check on her, worried.
"This place is really smelly. We’re not even inside and we can smell as we were." Dieg says.
Zin is holding Astri’s hair up so she doesn’t dirt it. Tyr is rubbing her back slowly as if trying to heal her.
"Astri didn’t throw up even if she saw males and females dirty with poop while helping the doctor. Why..." Claud says, and then realization hits him.
"What? What is it, Claud?" Koa asks, worried.
"She’s pregnant.." Kangki mouths, impressed.
"New bwothers!" Yuki screams happily inside the carriage.
All her spouses are shocked. Astri chuckled, watching their reaction. She understands that it is not a good time to be pregnant, but she couldn’t contain her laughter.
"This is not funny! This is not a place to be pregnant!" Lee says.
"You think I’m the only guilty here? I got pregnant with my finger?" She laughs.
"S-still! Don’t laugh! We need to find somewhere safe to build or find a clean house so you don’t get sick with that dirty place."
Everyone agreed together. The whole group is even more worried about her safety now.
"Don’t you think it is better for us to go home and come back after you deliver the litter?" Wayde asks Astri, after she sits in the carriage again.
She’s smelling soap to try to not get nauseous with the bad smell again.
"No. Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. Everything happens for a reason. Besides, we standing here already called attention from the tribe. Leader Bono is coming his way here." She smells the soap again.
Everyone looks to the tribe, and they can see a group of ten beastmen coming their way. Leading them there’s a massive man, with long hair with dreadlocks. He’s taller than Troy and Roy, who already were the tallest ones there, and wider in muscles than anyone there. His skin is a bit darker than Koa’s, and his eyes are corn yellow.
His size itself is already intimidating, making everyone there question their quest all over again.
"Who are you, strangers? And why are you in front of my tribe? Speak quickly." His voice is deep and a little hoarse.
Sensing he’s being rude like Pete, Roy, and Troy, Lee takes a deep breath before talking the way Astri taught them.
"My name is Lee Braze. We’re merchants, and we lost our ship some days ago. We’ve learned that Daern’s Tribe is the safest place for us to be. We carry precious objects and also people." Lee explains.
"It is the safest place around here, but what kind precious thing you carry for me to accept useless beastmen? I can accept the dragons and dinosaurs, but the rest are only snacks." Bono says.
"Well, Leader Bono.. I presume you are Leader Bono since you talk as if the tribe is yours." Lee says, thinking twice before saying what he really wants.
"You’re correct.."
"Good. It’s an honor to meet you. We have clothes, salt, and medicine. Also, we have three doctors, children, and 2 females."
Bono was impressed with what he heard. His soldiers too. The last thing they expected to hear was that.
"Some of these snacks are doctors, and also the producers of salt and clothes. The others are guards who we trust and have protected us until now." Lee says, keeping his voice calm and elegant.
"I see.. You have precious things and things I’m interested in. Especially the doctors." Bono nods.
"Good."
"I want to see the doctors and females, and see if they’re fit to be here." Bono says.
