Beastmen Love-Chapter 198: Broken Soul
Chapter 198: Broken Soul
Baal, the Emperor of Monsters, was created by the evil energies at the beginning of the world. When Nature created the world, it knew that the people needed the good and the evil energies to stay in balance. Because it’s something natural. When you assume something is good, you’re automatically admitting there’s evil.
Baal is not a beastman, he’s the pure evil in body. He created Monster Kings to keep the evil energy living in that world, but of course, he got too used to being the strongest energy for hundreds and hundreds of years. And, now, Astri is different from all the others before her, and he’s sensing the usual control he had, which he doesn’t have anymore.
"Are you jealous? I didn’t know you had a thing for Kangki. Sorry, he’s my male now, and I won’t let you take him from me and my family. Besides, if you try to consume him again, he won’t turn into a Monster anymore. He accepted me entirely and by free will." Astri says.
Baal wanted Kangki back as a Monster King, and he’s up to inject so much more evil in Kangki that he will not only be stronger than Baal himself.
"I’m up to try. And if he dies, we will be even." Baal says.
"Between you and me, we know who has the strongest energy, and that will never change. But in a number of guardians, you know you win easily. If you try anything, Nature will intervene." Astri says.
Baal gives a sick giggle.
"You forget something, Daughter of Nature. You’re a beast. You have flaws, feelings, and doubt as any other beastman. I’m not this way. You’re the strongest, but not the one who would win." He says. "I. Will. Never. Die." He says, serious, and slowly.
"You might be right. But there’s something I don’t question, don’t have a doubt, and my flaws won’t hold up: Nature is in me."
"We shall see. I must warn you. If you don’t give him back, you will not only lose him."
"I will lose no one. No life here will be taken." She says.
Astri’s spouses ran forward to attack him, but he puffs in a black dense fog where Beau and Wayde’s fists hit him. Then the black fog hits them, throwing them away. He launched Wayde and Beau at others, making them get hit, too.
"You have to go inside, Astri." Xzan says, pulling her by her hand.
"No, Xzan. I can’t." Astri says, not walking away and keeping her eyes on Baal, while the others keep trying to fight him.
It’s like they’re fighting a shadow that has no real shape. Koa throws a coral spear at Baal’s forehead, but it goes through him and hits the ground.
Claud concentrates and canalizes his energy into his hand; he floats up, and then, when there’s an opening, he points a hand at Baal and throws a beam of light on him. Baal jumps away this time, showing the others that Baal can’t handle Claud’s attack like any other physical attack, so they start to work together to create openings for Claud to attack.
Xzan stands in front of Astri, keeping her with his hands behind him, and the guards are around her. Just for being fighting Baal, Astri can feel that her whole back hurts, even though she can see that they’re not being hit in a fatal way and that’s making her wonder why she’s feeling that.
That’s when her eyes started to shine like the universe were inside of them, and she can see now that Baal is sucking their energies and souls slowly. He’s killing them without them noticing.
"STOP! STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" Astri screams at her spouses.
They stopped and jumped away, but Baal kept attacking them, appearing and disappearing in front of all of them. He doesn’t attack them all at once, it’s like he can jump from one to the other very fast.
Astri tries to run from Xzan’s back, but he holds her arm and pulls her to him.
"You can’t go there! He can’t get you." Xzan says.
"He’s not here for me, Xzan! He’s here to make me weaker. He’s here to kill them, not me!" She says.
She feels her back burning, showing that her spouses’ lives are tied to Baal already. When she looks at the fight again, all of them fall to their knees, feeling a weakness they never felt before. Only Dieg knew that feeling, that is death.
Baal laughs and then looks at Astri, again.
"Let’s see which of them will last longer? Or do you want to choose who I’ll take? I want only three or four." Baal asks her.
"Let them go." She says after releasing herself from Xzan.
"Even you can’t stop me now. They attacked me first. I was only defending myself." He says as he was a poor victim, holding his chest.
"You know that if you kill anyone here, you will be weak for years. And you won’t be capable of even having a form like you have now." She says.
"I don’t care. Darling, I’ve been here in this world since the first breath of a beastman was drawn. I can wait until my army gathers more energy for me again. What I won’t let is you keep getting stronger. Call it: taking precautions." He says, and chuckles.
Astri looks at her spouses, she can see that Wayde, Tyr, and Lee don’t even have the strength to move and have fallen on the ground, trying to stand but not having any strength in their muscles. The guards can see that Astri’s spouses are getting weaker and weaker, and don’t know what to do. Galion doesn’t know what to do. He sees Claud on his knees, trying to stand up all the time.
Galion desperately turns into his dragon form. Everyone held themselves with the strong wind from his wings, then he tried to grab Baal. Baal becomes fog again, and then he opens his mouth sickly wide. A black mist comes from inside his mouth and starts to cover Galion.
"Xzan. Listen carefully. Baal can’t kill me. If he tries to kill me directly, he might lose his existence for several thousand years. I want you and the guards to go take my spouses and Galion." Astri says.
"No! You can’t risk yourself!" Xzan says.
"Just do what I said! I won’t let him kill my spouses!" Astri orders, and then her body starts to shine. She flies to attack Baal quickly, and Baal is taken by surprise when she appears in front of him.
She stopped the mist from consuming Galion’s life. And then she punches his face strongly. When she hits him, his body doesn’t become fog, like before, and it actually hurts him and sends him flying far.
Galion’s dragon body falls on the ground and destroys part of the back walls. Galion loses consciousness, but Astri can sense he’s not dead and that his soul is inside his body. She flies to keep attacking Baal, he defends himself and tries to attack back, but every time she deflects him, he sees his body losing form.
He widens his aura, and then disappears from her front and appears next to her spouses. He focuses on stealing their souls because he knows he can’t fight against her directly. Astri appears in front of him, punches and punches him several times. He keeps defending himself, trying to keep near her spouses.
She creates a sword with her powers and cuts his arms off in a single slash. His arms fall off, and instead of blood, only black fog starts to come out. The arms that fell from him turned into complete fog and went back to his body. His arms form back, and she clicks her tongue.
"You want a soul? Let’s see if you can handle this!" She says.
Her body shines and shifts into her Pegasus form. Her aura wides wider than Baal’s aura, and then she breaks the lines of dark energy that is tied to her spouses’ souls and lives.
Astri’s spouses fall on the ground fighting to stay conscious. Everyone is worried about Astri fighting against Baal on her own, but they can see that she’s the only one capable of doing something against him.
"You will sacrifice yourself for them? You will make us both broken!"
"Broken? What does that mean?" Xzan asks, watching Astri getting closer to Baal, who was trying to stay away from her, but she wasn’t letting him leave.
Claud and Kangki now can see clearly that instead of Baal being tied to them, she made him tied to her. That’s why he’s trying to fight to stay away from her, but is actually being forced to stay in place by an invisible force.
Only Astri, Baal, Claud, and Kangki can see that there are white lines holding Baal in place.
"Astri... NO! DON’T DO THAT!!" Kangki screams out.
"ASTRI!!! STOP!!" Claud shouts out.
