Chapter 185: [Blizzard Manor] - Prophet’s part (32)
"I think you all could try it," Bella spoke softly. As soon as she finished her sentence, countless colorful warriors rushed toward Ethan. They appeared seemingly endless droves, trying to hinder Ethan’s advance.
Ethan raised his hand and brought his axe forward. His body suddenly spun violently, stirring up a whirlwind. Centered around Ethan, a powerful tornado formed, sweeping away all of Bella’s candy warriors. Her candy warriors were stretched out like noodles, pulled longer and longer until they turned into dust.
Even Ethan’s whirlwind became colorful—beautiful, yet deadly.
At that moment, Vincent, who had already been assimilated into candy, suddenly appeared. With his towering figure over two meters tall, he charged at Ethan.
Boom!
Sharp spikes extended from Vincent’s elbows, tearing open a crack in the monster’s vortex, causing the whirlwind to collapse.
Clang!
At the same time, Ethan’s axe crashed heavily toward Vincent. Vincent quickly blocked it with the sharp spikes on both of his elbows. However, a crackling sound soon followed—cracks started appearing on Vincent’s spikes. His body sank to the ground, the ground beneath him splitting apart as his body was being crushed as if he was about to be turned into a pile of minced meat!
At that critical moment, Ethan suddenly flung Vincent away and spun around. His axe swept through the air and slashed toward Fiona, who was lunging in!
Fiona’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected the monster to be that sharp—she had taken great care not to be noticed!
She had no choice but to switch from attack to defense in mid-air, using the fastest reaction speed of her life. The monster’s giant axe swung at her from the left. Her sword met it in time, clashing heavily.
Boom! Bam!
Her body was hurled sideways by the monster’s immense force, crashing hard against the wall and creating a web of cracks. She collapsed to the ground, her condition uncertain.
Alice quickly ran over to check on Fiona, ensuring she wouldn’t die right then and there. But her gaze couldn’t help but drift to the curled-up black figure nearby.
The Prophet had even turned toward the wall as if completely unaware of what was happening behind him—even as the entire mansion trembled from the chaos caused by Ethan and the others.
What on earth is going on?
Meanwhile, Vincent’s body began leaking radiant, colorful liquid. Ethan’s attack had nearly crushed him, and vivid blood gushed from the cracks on his body.
Bella wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and raised her staff. Vincent’s body and the remains of the other fallen warriors suddenly began to melt, transforming into streams of vibrant color that surged toward Ethan, latching on and restraining him tightly! freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"This is the last attack I can muster!" Bella roared.
"Alright then!"
Drake curled his lips into a smile and tightened his grip on the hilt of his blade.
His knees bent slightly, and then—like a bolt of lightning—he shot forward. A deep crater was left where he had just stood, and he appeared right before Ethan in the blink of an eye. He moved so fast that only a blur could be seen.
Drake had made up his mind—this blow would be the one to kill the monster. So, without hesitation, he unleashed all of his power.
His eyes were shrouded in a vivid red hue. Scales began to form, spreading from his hands to his elbows. His face, too, was covered in jagged patches of scales. A pair of wings sprouted from his back—wings four times his size, bony and engulfed in black flames, radiating a deadly heat. The blade in his hand had also grown enormously, now as tall as the monster itself.
Drake’s face twisted into a fierce grimace from pain and a strange, rising fury.
"Die!"
He roared thunderously, a roar that no longer sounded human—it was more like the roar of a dragon. The entire mansion trembled, dust and bricks falling from above. Yet somehow, the mansion still hadn’t collapsed; it was truly a dungeon structure through and through.
Drake’s blade came slashing down from above the monster’s head, engulfed in roaring black flames that spread wildly as if intending to burn the creature to ash.
Ssshhhhh!
Grawwwwww!
The sound of the descending blade mingled with the monster’s guttural roar. Drake bellowed, too, pouring more strength into his strike. Just a little more... just a little more! His battle instincts told him that if he could cut through the monster’s head, the rest of the strike would become smooth—effortless!
Thump! Thump! Thump!
It sounded like a heartbeat or something being crushed. What was it?
Everything slowed. Drake’s glowing red eyes swept over everyone below, then returned to the monster before him.
It was no longer roaring. Suddenly, the painted-on, drooping mouth on its cardboard face twisted upward, flickering and contorting. It was smiling—a ridiculously exaggerated grin, revealing shark-like teeth messily drawn in black ink.
Thump!
At the exact moment, Drake felt like his heart had been squeezed.
His eyes widened. The black scales began to retract. The power he had always struggled to control... was now suppressing itself.
Simultaneously, the black flames vanished, and the wings on his back crumbled into ash.
Clang! Boom!
Ethan swung his axe. Drake hurriedly raised his blade to block, but this time, he was effortlessly sent flying by the monster’s strength, smashing through a wall and landing heavily on one knee.
His eyes were wide open. Sweat and blood poured from his mouth and face, dripping from his chin to the ground—dark red.
He looked up at the monster across from him, disbelief etched in his expression. He didn’t want to accept it.
This monster... it was suppressing his power!
[Haha, the best part has arrived. It was the first time I saw that look on Drake’s face. So satisfying, haha!]
[Drake is going to die, Drake is going to die! Losing his power—how hopeless is that? Their fate has reached its end, hahaha!]
[Well, there’s still the Prophet...]
[What if Ethan can even suppress the Prophet’s power? This is his domain, after all.]
[That would be amazing. A god falls—imagine humanity plunged into despair, unable to survive. Hahaha!]
[I wonder if gods can contact each other... Could the Prophet call another god for help if things get bad?]
[You think the Prophet has friends? Haha! I’m sure he doesn’t have a single one!]
Ethan raised his axe and began stepping toward Drake.
No. Drake realized—the monster wasn’t even looking at him.
At that moment, he locked eyes with the Prophet’s golden gaze.
The Prophet was now sitting before the gaping hole in the wall, staring straight at him. His eyes were expressionless—slightly vacant, yet immeasurably deep. It was impossible to read any emotion in those eyes.
