Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 177: The Competition Part I
The competition was about to begin. James and Arabella sat in the VIP seats with Eliana and Erdin. For today, they were acting as babysitters and would assist the engaged couple in case of any unforeseen circumstances. For now, they were tasked with accompanying the twins as they watched their parents compete on stage. James bought several boxes of cookies for the children to snack on while watching their parents’ fashion show.
"By the way, when are my parents coming?" Eliana asked, winking at Arabella.
"Since they were the last to register, they’ll be performing last." Arabella gently stroked Eliana’s tiny head. "Are you excited to see your parents?"
"Of course. They’re going to be really cool. Plus, my mom is really good at designing beautiful clothes."
Arabella stared at James wearily. She couldn’t bear to tell the twins the truth. If Eliana and Erdin knew their parents were being bullied, they would surely be devastated. Therefore, Arabella sought a way to keep the twins from suspecting their parents.
James chuckled, feeding Eliana a cookie. "Of course they’ll win. I really like the suit your mother designed."
"Besides, your father is so handsome, Eliana. All the judges will definitely fall in love with him."
For a moment, James’s gaze sharpened on his lover. "Wait a minute! Why are you complimenting another man’s handsomeness? Moreover, you praised Callum’s handsome face."
"I admit you two are handsome." Her right hand lifted her lover’s chin with a loving look in her eyes. "But now I like you more."
Erdin stared at the couple innocently as he nibbled on a cookie. "Speaking of which, auntie and uncle are like my parents."
Her cheeks immediately flushed red at Erdin’s words. It was unusual to hear such praise from a child, making her afraid to lift her head.
Meanwhile, James burst out laughing at his adorable girlfriend. He immediately put his arm around her shoulders affectionately. "Erdin, pray that our relationship goes smoothly. So that you and Eliana will have a playmate too."
Her cheeks grew redder at those unexpected words.
As the competition began, the models took turns walking in pairs, displaying their "dance party"-themed outfits, each numbered accordingly. The twins focused on the models, while James and Arabella focused on the designer’s chairs, which were already occupied, except for Edith’s, which was empty, as she would be modeling.
Arabella exhaled heavily, her eyes returning to the stage, illuminated by colorful lights. "I wish Edith had been sitting in that chair. She deserved it more."
"What’s wrong with you?" James asked softly.
"Edith must be so tired of dealing with all this to maintain her reputation."
"But isn’t that a good thing? So, Callum isn’t doing the fashion show alone."
"That’s right. Edith definitely wouldn’t let another woman do a fashion show with Callum."
When it was Ariadne’s turn to take the stage, James and Arabella immediately focused on the model couple performing on the catwalk in Edith’s designs. James could only shake his head, arms crossed.
"She really has no self-awareness. Edith should have won this competition."
"Even though he is a famous designer, I will not forgive actions like this."
Ariadne took the stage after her models had performed. James and Arabella were forced to applaud, growing increasingly impatient to see Ariadne present her designs.
"Wow, the dress your model is wearing is absolutely beautiful! If I may ask, where did you get the inspiration to design such a beautiful dress?" asked the master of ceremonies.
Ariadne laughed softly as she looked at the audience. "Of course, because I’ve loved watching Disney Princesses since I was little. Because I wanted a happy ending, I designed a dress that embodies a happy ending. Every woman who wears it will surely have a happy ending."
Hearing Ariadne’s presentation live, Arabella rolled her eyes as she fed Eliana a cookie. "She’s so uncreative."
"If I were a judge, I definitely wouldn’t choose her as the winner."
"Edith designed that beautiful dress that must have had a hidden meaning."
"I’m actually worried about it. What if they get booed when they go on stage?"
"If they were cursed, would you immediately save them?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Now it was Edith and Callum’s turn to walk onto the stage, hand in hand. Eliana and Erdin watched their parents perform live, waving enthusiastically.
"Dad! Mom!" Erdin and Eliana called simultaneously.
Hearing their twins’ voices, Edith and Callum immediately waved goodbye. However, hearing the atmosphere in the venue begin to tense due to the scandal she was currently experiencing, Edith began to lose confidence.
"Don’t be afraid, Edith," Callum said gently.
"Of course I won’t be afraid because you are always with me."
Edith and Callum danced briefly on stage, twirling, and then ended the catwalk session holding hands. Even though it was now the presentation session, Callum still didn’t want to let go.
"Wait a minute! Isn’t this the dress worn by the model from Team Ariadne? How can it be so identical?" asked the master of ceremonies.
Edith looked confidently at everyone in the venue. "Of course, I designed this dress with my fiancé’s handsome face in mind. I actually designed this dress to attend a masquerade ball with my fiancé. Therefore, I designed it in such a short time. While it’s not perfect, the dress and suit my fiancé is wearing have true meaning."
"What does it mean to have a happy ending?"
"No. It means "eternal love." Because I have felt that the married life I am living now is full of challenges. To achieve a happy ending is very difficult. Even though I have been hit by big problems until now, my fiancé still loves me." Edith touched the necklace specially given by Callum. "Actually, I deliberately chose maroon because I wanted to match the color of this necklace. I didn’t know that Callum would give this necklace to me. But, I have wanted this necklace for a long time too."
Hearing Edith’s presentation that was more meaningful than hers, Ariadne couldn’t hold back her anger any longer.
