Beneath the Surface: Secrets of an Obsessed Heart-Chapter 137 - 136
Chapter 137: Chapter 136
The morning air was crisp, sunlight filtering through the red blinds, casting a warm glow over the dining room.
The table before him was laid out with a simple Japanese breakfast. Steaming bowls of miso soup, grilled salmon and fluffy tamagoyaki neatly sliced into thick, golden rectangles. There was a selection of fresh pickled vegetables and bowl of warm rice sat beside a porcelain cup filled with milk tea, steam curling from its surface.
But Hiro wasn’t eating.
His gaze was drawn inevitably to Raiden, who stood by the long glass window, his phone pressed to his ear. The morning light caught in his dark hair, highlighting the sharp angles of his face and the firm set of his jaw. His broad shoulders stretched beneath the fitted black suit he wore, and the powerful lines of his body were relaxed yet commanding.
Hiro’s eyes trailed down, taking in the curve of his back, the way his fingers flexed slightly as he spoke, his deep voice a low murmur in the quiet room which made Hiro’s chest swell with warmth.
Never in his life did he think he would one day be with someone, anyone, like this let alone a person he used to hate. A person that used to scare him and stalk him. If he had just tried to understand Raiden back then, maybe he would have never had to suffer so miserably for those four agonizing long years.
Now, he was proud, so proud, to be Raiden’s. To belong to him. It was a feeling he had never known before, this quiet certainty that someone strong and capable wanted him, cherished him.
He traced the sharp cut of Raiden’s profile with his eyes, lingering on his mouth, the way his lips curved slightly as he listened to whoever was on the other end of the call. Hiro had never seen someone so effortlessly captivating.
As if sensing the weight of his gaze, Raiden suddenly turned, his intense smokey grey eyes locking onto Hiro’s. A slow, knowing smirk played on his lips before he winked.
Startled, a blush rushing up Hiro’s neck, staining his cheeks a deep pink. He scrambled for his phone, fingers fumbling as he opened the screen, pretending to be absorbed in something.
Raiden only chuckled under his breath before turning his attention back to his call.
Hiro exhaled, forcing himself to calm down before his heart beat right out of his chest. He thanked God Raiden was too busy to tease him now. He glanced at his phone, intending to scroll mindlessly, only to be met with an explosion of unread messages from Michi.
’Hiro, how’s it going? Did it work???’
’Hey Hiro! Come on! Text me back! I’m dying here!’
’HIROOOOOOOOOOOOOO’
’Wait, are you two FUCKING???’
’It definitely worked, didn’t it?’
’Hey answer me! I know you’re too busy getting nailed but you can at least spare 1 minute to text your best friend.’
’Hirooooooooo!!!!!’
And the messages continued like that until Hiro couldn’t hold back his laughter. He was about to type a reply when he noticed that Raiden was approaching. Without hesitation, he set his phone aside, wanting to focus on Raiden. Michi could wait.
"Why were you laughing?" Raiden asked, leaning down to press a soft kiss against Hiro’s cheek before taking the seat beside him.
"Nothing," Hiro replied, smiling. "It was just Michi."
Raiden hummed knowingly before reaching for him. In one smooth motion, he lifted Hiro from his chair and settled him onto his lap. Hiro let out a small sound of surprise, but he instantly melted against Raiden.
"Let me guess," Raiden mused. "He’s asking how last night went."
Hiro flushed, the warmth rushing up his neck, and ears but he nodded all the same.
Raiden’s grip on his waist tightened slightly, keeping him securely in place as he picked up a piece of food and brought it to Hiro’s lips. "So, tell me," he murmured, his voice dipping lower. "How was it for you? Did you enjoy it?"
Hiro knew Raiden wasn’t just talking about the sex. He was asking about all of it—the slow unraveling, the intoxicating pleasure of being spanked, bound, and stripped of his senses. It was unlike anything he had ever experienced before, and yet, in Raiden’s hands, he had never felt safer, never craved anything more.
"I liked it all," Hiro admitted softly, his cheeks tinged pink. He lowered his gaze, biting his lip as he fiddled with Raiden’s black tie. "I like whatever you do to me."
Raiden chuckled, raising a brow, but his expression suddenly turned completely serious. "What if I tell you that there’s more?" He asked.
"More?" Hiro asked, confused.
Raiden’s gaze darkened, his fingers tracing lazy circles against Hiro’s bare thigh. "What if I tell you that I want to tie you to a chair and cane your beautiful behind until it turns red?" His voice was low and deep. "What if I tell you that I want to flog you until you cry, leave whip marks all over your body, edge you—make you so sexually frustrated that you’ll beg me for mercy before I let you release? What if I tell you that’s what completely satisfies me?"
Hiro’s breath hitched.
His champagne-coloured eyes widened, locking onto Raiden’s with something between shock and nervous anticipation. Raiden’s words pressed against him, igniting something deep within. But more than that—Hiro could tell that Raiden wasn’t joking.
Not one bit.
"I-I..." he stammered, his lips parting, but no words followed. His mind was a whirlwind, heat coiling in his stomach at the vivid imagery Raiden painted for him. He wasn’t sure what to say. It sounded painful and scary but sinfully pleasurable at the same time.
Raiden sighed. "Forget it. I will never force you into something you don’t like."
Hiro swallowed, his fingers curling slightly against Raiden’s chest. "B-But how do you know I don’t like it?" he asked hesitantly. "I mean... I don’t know if I like it either." He bit his lip, his expression nervous but earnest. "You always do everything I like, Raiden, whether I ask you to or not so I want to try whatever it is you want, too. Who knows? I might end up liking it."
Raiden’s sharp eyes searched his, scanning for any trace of doubt but all he saw was sincerity. "Baby," he murmured, his voice gentle. "Are you sure? I don’t want to force you."
Hiro’s lips curled into a small, reassuring smile. "I’m very sure, Raiden." He lifted a hand, cupping Raiden’s cheek. "I trust you."
Raiden exhaled slowly, something unreadable flickering in his eyes before he leaned in, capturing Hiro’s lips in a tender kiss. It wasn’t rough or demanding, just soft, full of silent gratitude.
