Chapter 194: Stranger in my bed (2)

Selene slowly walked into the room trying to grasp the sight before her. She didn’t like the sight of another woman lying so comfortably on the bed she shared with Xavier. It was sacred for Selene. A place she felt most vulnerable and comfortable since she got married.

"You!" Lucas exclaimed, angered by the sight before him. Xavier wasn’t going to like this.

Agnes couldn’t believe her eyes that someone had not only managed to get past the guards but lay on the bed. "What do you-"

"No," Selene stopped Agnes. "I will take care of this. That is not your place," she spoke to the unwelcomed guest.

Selene composed herself and started walking toward the bed. The woman on the bed was a stranger to Selene but not a stranger to the kingdom. "It is not a good look for a princess to do this. You are lying on the bed meant for a married couple."

"Married?" Came the response from the princess. "Who allowed that?"

Morgana Croix, princess and younger sister of the king, ran her fingers against the bed. It bothered her how Selene’s presence was hard to ignore in the room. "I did not allow him to wed a woman like you"

Selene had many questions first starting with how the princess made it so far onto the estate without the guards stopping her. She needed an answer for that later. A good answer that wouldn’t lead her to wonder what relationship Xavier once had with the princess.

For now, Selene was glad the princess wasn’t harmed though she stood where she didn’t belong. The princess being injured here would start a war with the palace which shouldn’t happen yet. They didn’t need this distraction when they were to be figuring out what happened to her parents.

"Our guards are currently fighting the palace guards she brought along with her. Your men are dropping like flies,’ Lucas informed Morgana.

Morgana wasn’t concerned about the guards she brought since they were merely a distraction. "Do what you want with them. They did fight on land belonging to someone else. My business here is with her. The thief," she pointed to Selene.

’Wonderful,’ Selene thought. Another one of Xavier’s admirers but this one might be most annoying for the lengths she went through.

Selene could not get the sight of the princess lying on the bed out of her head. It might be a small matter to others but Selene felt like her one peaceful place was tarnished.

"I am not a thief but you have made yourself out to be an intruder. Please leave before now so we can avoid any more fighting," said Selene.

Morgana sat back down on the bed. "I finally saw today as a good day to have a word with you. I am not leaving until we have talked. You two go away," she shooed Agnes and Lucas.

Selene sighed. Why did there need to be three rotten apples as royalty?

Morgana acted as though she owned the estate. Selene knew it had to be from the princess once believing she would marry Xavier.

Selene stopped before the bed she wanted to push Morgana off of. Unfortunately for Morgana, the estate already had a lady.

"I am trying to be kind with what I say to avoid starting a war between the palace and this estate but you are making it hard for me to do so. You are not welcome here, princes. If the palace has not taught you how to act in someone’s home, I have a little time to teach you," said Selene.

Morgana smiled. Selene didn’t like what she was told. "You’ve met with the queen, right? You must know that she once had a little romance with Xavier. I let that slide since she is now married to my brother but she must still be in love with Xavier since she speaks of you. I am not like the queen."

Morgana stood up so she could properly face Selene. "I wanted Xavier for a long time then you show up out of the blue. Why did you show up? You should be hiding your face after what your family did. You must have been upset when your husband returned with another woman only for you to steal the man promised to you. You’re no different from that human whore."

Selene had a different opinion. "I didn’t steal Xavier. He could not be stolen from you when he hadn’t promised to marry you. You shouldn’t believe what others say. I encourage you to get out before I go to terrible lengths to get you out."

Morgana laughed, interested in what Selene would do to her. Selene might carry the Blackthorn name but it didn’t give her the power to touch the princess. "You are letting that last name get to your head. You may carry that name for now but to the rest of us, you are still a joke."

Morgana looked behind Selene to the guard and maid. "I ordered you to get out yet there you stand."

"They are my people. Agnes, go to the guards and inform them we have an intruder who must be taken out of the estate. I do not care if she must be dragged out. Your title means very little here when you are not a welcome guest," Selene said.

Selene was tempted to drag Morgana out of the room but she refrained from stooping so low. She was the lady of the estate so she would act like it no matter how much someone pushed her buttons.

Agnes ran off to do as Selene told her, leaving Lucas with Selene.

Morgana laughed at the position she found herself in. "You are bold. That must be why my brother adores you. No one thinks you are suited for Xavier so eventually, you will leave his side and I will find my place here. I can help your move be comfortable or feel like you are being tortured."

"I am not Vivienne. I will not use the ladies around the town to make your life a living hell. I will come after you myself because you have stolen something I loved. I cried, I got angry and threw things once I found out. I hid away to give you two enough time to wake up from your little dream but now, I must help you," Morgana said, explaining her appearance.

For Xavier to find his way to where he belonged, he needed a little push and Morgana was more than willing to place her hands on his back to give him that push. ƒreewebɳovel.com

Morgana was well aware her arrival here would anger Xavier but just for now. They would settle this later on.

"Since you came here while my husband is away, you know that you do not belong here. Your threats won’t work on me since I do not plan to ever let go of Xavier. For a moment, I am ignoring that you are the princess. Woman to woman if you do not leave those rooms I will disregard how I want to be as a lady and drag you out of here," Selene shared.

Selene continued to say, "I would hate for the two of us to look bad in the eyes of those around us but I won’t take much more of your disrespect."

"Do it," Morgana challenged Selene. "Let me see if your actions can match your words."
