"Milady!" Agnes called, happy to see Selene inside. She was curious if the dinner was going well. "I-" She stopped after seeing Selene and Xavier be so open with their kissing and hands on each other.
"I wouldn’t go anywhere near that room if I were you. You won’t be able to hear what is being done inside but you’ll have a good idea and if you open the door, your job might be over. Go have dinner," Lucas advised Agnes.
Agnes was startled by Lucas being so close to her. "When did you get here? No, that’s not important. Why do you look so happy over that? Don’t tell me-"
"Please don’t make some awful assumption that I am a pervert. I am just happy my backup plan is well on the way. If Xavier ever goes to sleep, then I will need someone to work for while he is resting. Who better to follow than a child of his?" Lucas asked.
"You are all very odd," Agnes concluded.
When Agnes thought of Selene having a baby, she thought of getting to dress up the baby, but Lucas was looking for his next boss.
Lucas shrugged his shoulders. "It’s not my fault you aren’t preparing for the future. Eventually, all the purebloods get tired of time passing by and nothing exciting happening so they decide to rest for a while and when that happens, I need someone else to employ me. Think about yourself," he flicked her head.
Agnes swatted Lucas’s hand away. "I go wherever my lady goes. If she rests, then I will rest too and wake when she does. I have better things to do than speak about the unknown future so excuse me."
"If you are going to dinner, it is the other way," Lucas pointed over his shoulder.
Agnes never noticed it before but now she realised that Lucas was someone she didn’t want to hear talking so much. "I never said I was going to dinner," she replied, continuing to walk in the wrong direction. "I hope she is having a better time than me."
Upstairs, Selene and Xavier made it to their room. The basket was long forgotten at the door as they made their way to the bed.
"I said to walk normally," Selene scolded Xavier. "Now they must all know."
"If I walk around holding and kissing you every day then it will become the norm. Don’t worry about them right now. Not many servants saw us," Xavier said, more interested in continuing where they left off.
Xavier first discarded Selene’s clothing and then his own.
"I’m starting to realise what we started tonight," Selene said, knowing she might be in for a few more very passionate nights since they were both excited.
Xavier placed Selene so she laid comfortably on the pillows, a welcomed break from lying on the ground. "What exactly have we started?" He asked, occupying himself by leaving kisses on her skin.
The marks from his earlier kisses were quickly fading so he had to make more.
"I will not play this game with you," Selene said, knowing what he was doing. She laughed, tickled by his hair brushing against her skin. "I could wear one of Francesca’s gifts."
"We don’t need it now," Xavier replied, his lips moving against her skin. He looked up after leaving a fresh mark above her breasts. "Surprise me with it tomorrow. We have many more days ahead of us."
Selene’s response was trapped somewhere in her throat as Xavier touched her leg, pulling her down toward him.
If this was how their nights would be from now on, Selene didn’t mind it.
"I hope you aren’t lying there getting lost in thought," Xavier said.
"I wasn’t," Selene answered. It was partially the truth since she was thinking about this.
Selene bit her lip, overwhelmed by the feeling of him inside her again. Wasn’t she meant to be used to it by now since it was the third time?
Still, Selene hoped that feeling wouldn’t go away the more they made love to each other.
She looked up at Xavier, more in awe at this sight of him. He looked even better with the dim light in their room.
Selene couldn’t resist reaching out to him and pulling him down to kiss her. "More," she said before their lips touched. She needed him to start moving quickly.
As if reading her mind, Xavier moved. Their bodies are already in tune with each other, matching each other’s moment.
Selene’s hands roamed Xavier’s body, enjoying the feeling of everything she had been staring at and wondering how it would feel for the last few days.
"Xavier," his name escaped her lips. "More."
Selene’s fingers were tangled in his hair before going down to feel his back. His body was muscular. Selene had been around guards and soldiers of the king’s army but this was the first time seeing a man’s muscular body was something she enjoyed.
Why was she so foolish to look away at the times when Xavier would get dressed before her?
Selene lost track of what she had been thinking about when his pace changed. The gentle pace was out of the room which she did not mind.
They had each other like they needed to part from each other when morning came. Like this night was their last time together.
Selene held onto Xavier as that feeling returned. This time, Xavier was far behind her.
They both remained still, coming down from the emotions they both felt. Xavier remained inside Selene, contemplating if they could go one more time or if he had taken it too far for her first night.
In the end, he decided to stop there. Like he said, they had many more nights before him and if he continued tonight, what he was telling Selene to prepare for might happen.
Xavier knew in her innocent mind Selene might think this was all there was but it wasn’t for him. There were other places he wanted to have her. Other ways he wanted to have her. If he did all that tonight then Selene might not be able to greet her guests tomorrow.
Xavier decided to let her body rest. It seemed to be the right thing to do. There wasn’t any need to rush when they had a long life ahead of them.
He looked down at Selene who waited patiently for what he would do next. If she kept looking at him like that then it was going to be hard to stop right now.
"Oww," Selene cried out. "Why did you bite me? I’m a vampire and I don’t bite you."
"Stop looking so sweet and I won’t bite you," Xavier replied.
Selene knew it should be considered sweet talk but it wasn’t when it came from a man with very sharp fangs. Xavier was lucky he was making her feel good or she would have bitten off his hand. Did he need it?
Selene blushed, embarrassed by the first thought of what he needed his hand for. She covered her face with her hands. "What has become of me?"
"You’ve finally admitted that you want your husband and you like it. That is what has become of you," Xavier said, moving her hands so she would look at him. "Or perhaps you have many indecent thoughts which need to be shared."
"I do not," Selene lied.
"What a shame. I intend to show you my indecent thoughts tomorrow rather than tell you. Get some rest for now," Xavier said, finally pulling away from her body to lay beside her. "We’ll continue tomorrow."
