Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters-Chapter 106: From Family to Colony: Maddy Assigns Roles to Her Monster Children! — Part 2.
[New Map Acquired: Shellgrave Forest Area 2 — Middle]
In a different part of the forest, the air grew hot. Dyralfa stood in a clearing, her scales shimmering with rage. Across from her stood a monster that had shifted its flesh to look exactly like her—a mocking, twisted mirror of Maddy’s creation.
Dyralfa’s voice was a low growl.
"You dare?! You copy the form my Mother gave me? You are not worthy of this skin!"
She lunged forward. The Doppelganger mirrored her movements, arms raised like Dyralfa, but Dyralfa was faster. Her fist slammed into its chest with pinpoint force.
CRACK!
The creature was sent hurtling backward, crashing through three trees in a violent arc. Dyralfa didn’t hesitate—she pursued immediately, pinning it to the forest floor. Without a moment wasted, she snapped its neck with cold, precise efficiency. The forest fell silent again, save for the rustle of leaves disturbed by the brief chaos.
Maddy’s voice narrated again:
"When the Soldier is not guarding, they are Farming. You harvest the monsters. We need their traits. We need their strength. Do not destroy the body; we need the ingredients."
Dyralfa stood over the corpse. She grabbed it by the leg and began dragging it back toward the cave.
"This will be a good part for my next sibling!"
From beneath the soil, Maddy’s chimera worm head popped up once more. She shook her head as her many eyes scanned the three shattered trees, the forest floor still trembling from Dyralfa’s strike. Dust swirled, and birds erupted into the sky.
"Yeah... she definitely needs to control her strength."
Back in the heart of the Mineral Hole, the cavern had changed dramatically. A new chamber had been carved into the stone—wide, cold, and echoing with the faint drip of mineral water. The floor was now buried beneath a growing mountain of monster corpses.
Dyralfa entered first, dragging the creature she had just defeated. With a grunt, she hurled it onto the pile. The mass of bodies shifted slightly as it landed.
Maddy continued her narration like a queen explaining the inner workings of her growing colony.
"After the Soldiers finish farming, their harvested monsters will be brought into this new room. This chamber will be the heart of our resource storage... The Monster Chamber."
From the darker edges of the cavern, Arach emerged silently, carrying several forest creatures over his shoulder. Without a word, he added them to the pile.
Maddy studied the growing mound carefully. In her vision, the Monsterpedia flashed repeatedly—lines of information cascading across her sight.
"In just an hour, you’ve cleared the middle part of Area 2 of the Shellgrave Forest and gathered enough traits for a whole new generation!"
[New Monsterpedia Entry Added: Goblin]
[Goblin — Habitat: Caves / Forests / Ruins / Mountains/ Plains]
[A small, cunning humanoid creature known for its adaptability and mischief. Goblins often live in tribes, scavenging for food, tools, and materials to craft crude weapons and traps. Though individually weak, they make up for it with numbers, agility, and cunning tactics. Some goblins develop minor magical abilities or specialized skills, allowing them to ambush travelers or defend their territory effectively. They are opportunistic and resourceful, thriving in environments abandoned or avoided by larger creatures.]
[New Monsterpedia Entry Added: Hobgoblin]
[Hobgoblin — Habitat: Caves / Ruins / Forests / Mountain Passes/ Plains]
[A larger, stronger, and more disciplined variant of the common goblin. Hobgoblins are natural warriors, often serving as commanders or elite soldiers within goblin tribes. Their increased strength and tactical awareness make them far more dangerous in combat than ordinary goblins. They wield better weapons and armor, and some even learn rudimentary battlefield magic to support their troops. Hobgoblins are highly territorial and will lead coordinated raids on intruders or rival tribes, showcasing both cunning and brute force.]
[New Monsterpedia Entry Added: Doppelganger]
[Doppelganger — Habitat: Cities / Forests / Ruins / Caves]
[A mysterious creature capable of perfectly imitating the appearance, voice, and even some abilities of other beings. Doppelgangers use this power to infiltrate communities, deceive prey, or ambush opponents. Though their physical strength is usually comparable to that of an average human, they rely on cunning, stealth, and mimicry to gain the upper hand. Prolonged exposure to a Doppelganger can confuse even the most experienced adventurers, as they struggle to discern friend from foe. Some are drawn to powerful individuals, choosing to replicate their skills in order to test themselves or dominate their targets.]
Dyralfa leaned back, resting a jagged claw on her hip.
"It’s because of you, Mother. From the moment we were born, before we could even take our first breath, you challenged us. You taught us to fight efficiently, to fight smart, and never to waste a movement."
She paused, her gaze softening as it landed on his brother Arach beside her.
"But we couldn’t have done this if Brother Arach wasn’t there with me. With him around, we always know which areas are far from those adventurers, so we can farm in peace without them ever knowing we exist."
Arach immediately stiffened. All six of his eyes blinked at once. Then he scratched the back of his head awkwardly with one hand while the other five shifted restlessly, clearly unsure what to do with themselves.
"Ah... well... I mean..."
He mumbled, suddenly very interested in the cave floor. Compliments had always been his greatest weakness. His shoulders hunched slightly as if he were trying to shrink his massive frame.
"I was just... doing what Mother taught us. Using tremor sense to track movement... watching for patterns... avoiding places where humans pass."
One of his hands rubbed the back of his neck again.
"But... uh... thanks, Dyralfa."
He finally looked up at her, giving a sheepish grin.
"But don’t make it sound like I carried everything. You’re the one smashing half the forest down there." Honestly, if anything, you’re the reason the pile got this big."
One of his arms pointed toward the three enormous carcasses she had dragged in earlier.
"You move faster than I can track sometimes. Mother didn’t raise a weak daughter."
Dyralfa rolled her shoulders proudly and flexed her arm.
"OF COURSE! Mother does not give birth to weak children!"
