Chapter 32: Birthing Customization: Choose Your Offspring.

Maddy clutched her chest, her heartbeat racing, each thrum vibrating with the terrifying intensity of a miracle in progress.

"Seeing how dangerous and merciless this world is, I cannot let them be soft. They must be strong enough to never know fear. I want them to move with a grace that defies gravity and dodge threats before they even manifest. Their hides must be iron, their reflexes lightning, their senses keen enough to hear a heartbeat from a mile away."

She turned her gaze to the Mobile Womb. It pulsed with life, each thrum like a slow, steady breath, drawing in the cave’s damp air. It waited... patient, ready for her command.

"But more than that... they need the instinct to endure. The resilience to grow stronger from every wound. I will make them capable of surviving anything this world throws at them. No matter what happens, they will be safe. I will make them powerful... and they will always, always be mine."

Maddy closed her eyes, reliving every painful night—the hallucinations brought on by countless medicines, herbs, and rituals her husband forced upon her just to bear a child... and worse. Her body trembled under the weight of it all, the memories heavier than ever.

Summoning all her strength, she focused on the future, on what was to come.

"BIRTHING CUSTOMIZATION!"

Suddenly, her vision shifted. The cave around her blurred, replaced by a digital interface. Dozens of glowing panels hovered before her, like a character customization screen—the kind you’d spend an entire day perfecting in a game.

At the center, a digital sac floated, suspended in the glowing interface. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

[Inside this sac, it will function like an egg. In this section, you will fill it with your customized offspring. See the options on the right? That is where you select what to place inside—Base Forms, Physical Appearance, Traits, and Name.]

[Birthing Customization]

[Base Form | Physical Appearance | Traits | Name]

Maddy’s eyes widened as she scanned the panels

"Oh God... look at this. This is advanced science and technology! If this existed on Earth, imagine being able to design an entire child exactly how you want... it’s horrifyingly precise. I mean, who cares about God? He always made humans imperfect just like me, born beautiful, yet unable to bear a child. But with this... I can make my children flawless, with nothing to be ashamed of."

[First, let’s choose a base form. This base acts as the foundation for your offspring, everything you customize will build upon it.]

Maddy leaned closer, studying the base forms carefully. Her eyes widened as she clicked through the options.

[Birthing Customization’s Base Forms]

[Demonic Ogre]

[Man Eating Worm/Mineral Worm]

[Mineral]

[Spear/Shield/Sword Spider]

[Suzerain Spider]

"These... these are everything I’ve eaten... Oh God, this sends shivers down my spine. I could literally create an entirely new creature or even alter a whole species itself."

She took a deep breath, steadying herself before clicking anything and making her decision.

"I should start strong. The first child... stronger than any monster here. That child should be the eldest. An eldest child should be a... A LEADER. Intelligent, a bit perfectionist, and sometimes a little bossy."

That thought made one thing clear... even if she didn’t want it, the first child was crucial.

"This one... it would set the standard, the model, the path for all the others to follow."

Swallowing her pride, she clicked the Demonic Ogre base form. The panel expanded immediately, revealing five variations.

"Right... I did eat five of them... but that one Demonic Ogre is the right fit for my first child... even if I hate him for reminding me of that abusive scumbag husband. Ah, I do not have a choice, damn it!"

After a tense pause, she selected the last option—Chief Ogre.

The sac pulsed and slowly opened. Inside, the base body of the Chief Ogre bloomed into form. Every detail was identical to when he had been alive—his towering build, the curve of his horns, the heavy muscles, even the scars etched into his skin. It was as if death had never claimed him.

Maddy swallowed and felt her chest tighten. This was the first child... the eldest. The one who would set the standard for the rest.

[Selected Base Form is adjustable. Physical structure may be modified. Facial components, external features, and hybrid integrations are available.]

Lucy’s voice rang clear in her mind.

[The core personality remains intact. The Chief Ogre’s traits are woven into his soul. Personality isn’t merely physical—it’s a deep behavioral imprint that will shape and guide the child from birth.]

Maddy’s fingers froze mid air.

"So... even if I change his face, his nature stays?"

[Correct. Leadership, dominance, and territorial instincts are natural behaviors, not surface traits.]

She exhaled slowly.

"This could be a win... or a wreck. But a leader shouldn’t be hollow. I don’t want a puppet child. I want someone with his own behavior, because as you said... that makes them themselves, not just something I created. A child should have their own will, their own self."

Determined, she moved on to the next step: Physical Appearance Customization. Clicking the option, panels expanded around the Chief Ogre’s base form.

[Physical Appearance]

[FACE]

[Face Shape | Eyes | Eyebrows | Nose | Mouth | Scars/Tattoos/Markings]

Maddy circled the floating model slowly, her fingers hovering over the options as if she were adjusting sliders in a game.

"Okay... let’s see."

She selected the Face then Face Shape, watching the model expand. She tried blending features from the other monsters she had just eaten. Sharpening the jaw, raising the cheekbones but it went too far. The result was exaggerated, over the top.

"No. Absolutely NOT. Reset. Even if I wanted to change his face so I couldn’t be reminded of him... argh. He looks like... a giga chad."

She shook her head and scrolled through the options again, landing on the eyebrows. She tried arching them slightly and the model suddenly looked furious.

She burst out laughing, tears streaming down her face.

"OH GOD! He looks like he’s mad at everybody!"

She wiped her eyes and groaned.

"Yeah... no again. RESET!"
