(BL)Alpha Made-Chapter 255: Before the other shoe drops
Chapter 255: Before the other shoe drops
Andrew was holding out.
Several times over the last few houses he had almost phoned it in. Had almost snapped and let loose on the other guy. Mated or not, Andrew was sure this motherfucker was a true alpha. The way he was behaving, his tone with Andrew, and the way he was looking at Maxwell like a damn breeding horse all screamed true alpha behaviour. At least the true alpha behaviour that Andrew was used to. Andrew hated it.
He was also making fun of the things Andrew was complaining about. He was making faces, making comments, rolling his eyes at every little thing Andrew wasn’t quite happy with. Andrew really worried that this was what the whole agency was full of.
Conceited assholes who thought that they were better than their clients. Andrew knew, hell, he hoped that maybe they had treated Kim differently. Maybe she had a perfectly suitable person as her realtor. A sensible person who knew better than to piss off their newest clients so that they could keep retaining business. Andrew, at his wits end, even sent Kim a text, trying to get the name of the person she normally worked with.
She responded back to him pretty quickly, and let him know that she normally worked with a female alpha, but she was unmated. That was where a light went off. That was where Andrew thought that they might have fucked up. Specifying that they needed someone who was mated might have shot them in the foot.
But also, the other realtors had sent someone who was a beta. Who had been kind, and considerate, and hadn’t mocked Andrew at every opportunity. They hadn’t eyed up Maxwell like he was going to be their next favourite snack either. They had been respectful, so Andrew wasn’t so sure.
At this point, Andrew was even doubting if this lump of shit was even good at his job. Had he even found these houses that suited Andrew and Maxwell pretty well? Or had someone else done it for him and he had swooped in and took it from them? Taken credit for their work all to mock and belittle another man while trying to flirt with their partner as they tried to buy a house.
Andrew’s blood was boiling by the time they got to the house that Andrew and Maxwell were even here for. The house in Kim and Jenny’s neighbourhood.
"So this is one of the more secluded, well monitored gated communities in the area. Pretty much every house has a private security team and the houses were designed by the plot owners. This is one of the first houses to go for sale. It’s actually a miracle you were even allowed to see it, since you need the approval of the previous owner to view it." Andrew’s teeth squeaked as he pressed them together, holding his anger back.
Why had they been allowed to see this place? His fucking cousin lived here. His aunt. Whatever you wanted to call her. They were fucking blood related.
"My aunt lives a few houses down." Andrew knew it was petty of him to say so, but he needed to put this arrogant man in his place. The man slid his gaze towards Andrew as he unlocked the door with the key he’d taken from the realtor box. His gaze held nothing but pity for him, and Andrew saw red.
The man thought he was lying. He really thought he was lying.
Andrew almost attacked him before the door opened, but Maxwell’s grip on Andrew’s hand was the only thing that held him back.
"Oh really?" The man said disinterestedly, and Andrew had to take several breaths to calm himself down.
Andrew refused to speak to him more in the house, not giving his opinions, nothing. The man didn’t deserve to know what Andrew was thinking. That did also mean that Maxwell didn’t hear his thoughts, but he would tell the man in private.
What he was doing was letting the group know that whether it was the agency as a whole, or something else, they would not be going with this realtor. Hell, Andrew was fuming enough that he wanted to write a nice, long rant and post it to their very public reviews.
Kim was devastated that they were treating Andrew so poorly, and when she heard what Andrew had noticed about their treatment of Maxwell, she was livid. She told Andrew that she would attempt to get in contact with her realtor. She told Andrew to go back to the realtor office, and hopefully she would be able to meet them there.
Kim was desperately trying to make it up to him. Andrew felt bad for her sake. It was clear that she wouldn’t have recommended something to Andrew of all people that reminded him of his father. Even if they didn’t decide to go with this agency, she wanted to at least wash the bad taste out of his mouth.
Andrew was thankful, and appreciative. He did let the group chat know that he did like the house in Kim and Jenny’s neighbourhood the most so far, but he needed to run it past Maxwell first.
They were happy to hear it, and so, Andrew bit his tongue and continued through the visit even if he wanted to pluck the eyes out of the man who was looking at his omega with lustful eyes. Fucking mated Andrew’s ass. This man was a damn fucking predator on the hunt.
He hoped that his mate left his fucking ass.
Andrew somehow managed to let the other man know that they were supposed to go back to the agency office and the man jumped on the opportunity. He let them know that if they wanted to look over the profiles of a few more houses he was happy to help. He had a few more that he had wanted to show them, but hadn’t had enough time in the day.
He somehow turned it into a dig about Andrew, but Andrew was trying to be a better person.
Especially after Maxwell had cornered him in the walk-in closet that was more like a second bedroom to the master, and gave him a few kisses between Andrew letting him know what he’d sent the group chat.
He was calmer. He was more composed. His rut wasn’t going to make him murder this man.

When Andrew and Maxwell had walked back into the agency, hand in hand, Andrew could tell that something had shifted. The air had been stuffy before, but now it was downright hostile. Andrew wondered what the man had said to them when he’d said he was going to call the agency to get them a viewing room.
Was a viewing room a euphemism for something? Andrew fucking hoped not.
Andrew was on the last legs of his patience. Truly, he was. Andrew knew Maxwell could sense it, but he was sure shit for brains in front of them hadn’t sensed it at all. Andrew was glad that they had no omegas on staff because Andrew knew Maxwell was already having some issues breathing. Maxwell had told him it was okay, through gestures and his expression, but Andrew still felt like shit. Even though he really wasn’t able to control it at this point.
The damn idiot led them to a small room. Only big enough for a table with four chairs to slot inside, and the wall with the door in it all glass. Including the door. Andrew was sure it was to make sure that nothing happened behind closed doors. Andrew noticed that all of the other offices were the same.
Andrew swallowed. How often had it happened that they needed to reinforce a damn policy? Andrew was going to question why Kim was still working with these idiots after this. Fuck.
Shit for brains was all smiles in the office. All kind and nice. It was the same behaviour he had had when they met for the first time. Damn snake. He opened the door for them, letting them sit down first before he ran off to grab his tablet from before. He didn’t even offer them a drink, even though Andrew was able to tell that other guests in the agency in other meeting rooms had them.
It was a small slight, but on top of everything else he had experienced today, Andrew was only a few steps away from snapping. Andrew made sure that Maxwell was tucked into the corner, away from the man and the door so that he couldn’t be snatched away from him. He was feeling protective. He was feeling bossy. He was feeling alpha.
Maxwell didn’t seem to mind, and even placed his hand on Andrew’s thigh, making sure Andrew knew that he was okay with his behaviour right now. He didn’t mind. Andrew was very grateful for his support. Andrew wasn’t sure if he would have been able to get through this without it.
"Thank you for putting up with my behaviour." Andrew whispered to him when they realised that the man was making him wait in a sick kind of power play. Maxwell chuckled. Both of them were only putting up with this as they waited for Kim’s regular realtor. She was caught up in another viewing, but should be there within about 10 minutes. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"Baby, it’s no hardship. You just focus on breathing, alright?" Maxwell murmured lowly, his gaze full of love. Andrew swallowed, inhaling his scent, washing his body with it.
Andrew only had to endure this for another 10 minutes.
