Chapter 254: Dude, what’s your problem?

The morning was just like the previous. Andrew woke up, buried in Maxwell’s skin when he wanted to be buried in his body, and Maxwell treated Andrew to a little peep show.

Andrew and Maxwell took their time with this one, Andrew trying to milk it for everything it was worth. He couldn’t stop telling Maxwell he was so pretty, like a fairy, and Maxwell? Andrew found out that Maxwell under normal circumstances didn’t like to be called pretty, but there was only one person that exception applied to.

It was during this that a strange thing happened. Andrew knotted while masturbating.

Maxwell’s eyes had gone wide, Andrew had panicked, and Michael was called. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

This was before Michael’s call to check in and make sure Andrew was still sane, so he wasn’t expecting the calm call from Maxwell, with Andrew panicking in the background.

"Hello Michael." Maxwell started, but Michael could hear Andrew rambling in the background.

"Oh my god. Oh my god! Is this my dick? What on earth have I subjected you to? This looks horrifying! How is everyone just okay with this? This is so fucking weird!"

"As you can hear," Maxwell continued, trying not to laugh too loudly, "we have encountered a problem. Andy and I were just...doing some light, no touching play, and well, Andy knotted without penetration. Is that anything to be concerned about?" Maxwell asked, covering his mouth to muffle his laughter.

Even Michael had to compose himself.

"If Andy wasn’t so embarrassed, I’d ask for a facetime call, but I know he wouldn’t like that. Uh, well, I don’t think it’s a problem? It does happen sometimes. But it’s a rare thing. Is he still...himself?" Michael asked, Andrew still rambling on in the background. Maxwell turned, sliding a glance towards the freaking out other man, his gaze full of humour.

"Oh, I don’t think if he was in his rut he’d be this panicked, so I would say so. It is getting closer though. His scent is more potent." Maxwell told him calmly while Andrew continued to pace the floor of their bedroom, his knotted cock bouncing around. It kind of looked like it hurt, and Andrew was too busy freaking out to even realise that it was painful. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.

"Alright. I just got a notification that the package containing the condoms that I had specialty ordered has arrived and should be delivered soon. I’ll let you know when I have them, and I’ll drop them off. You can let me know when, since it’d probably be better if I dropped them off in the evening, right?" Michael suggested and Maxwell nodded. He reached down, pulling on the pants he’d pulled off for their little session.

"Sounds good. One of us will reach out. Have a good rest of your day, Michael." Maxwell told him, before hanging up and going to comfort his panicking boyfriend.

Andrew was slowly calming down, the pacing having helped, but now he was aware of how much his crotch hurt. He was holding onto it, embarrassed, and flustered.

"Ow." He whispered, holding up his painfully erect dick and Maxwell had to do his best to control himself. Andrew wished that he couldn’t find humour in this situation, but he could, and that only made this harder for him.

"It’s okay Baby. I’ll soon be able to kiss it better, okay? So why don’t you go get a cold shower first, calm yourself down, and I’ll go attempt to make us a smoothie or something." Maxwell told him with a smile and Andrew wished that he could hug him, pull him in for comfort.

Andrew knew better. He felt a little harsher, rougher around the edges. Prickly. He felt like if someone brushed against him the wrong way he’d snap.

"Okay." Andrew muttered, listening to him and Maxwell wavered before he grabbed onto Andrew’s shoulders and pulled him down, giving him a quick peck.

"He said it was normal, nothing to worry about. He’s also going to send over the new condoms tonight. We’ll be ready for tomorrow, alright? I’ve already talked to Dad as well, and Richard. They are ready to cover for us, for however long this lasts, okay? We’re in this together. You aren’t alone." Maxwell scanned his face as Andrew felt his eyes water. "Now, why don’t you go get that shower big man? I’ll see you shortly. Hopefully, with an edible smoothie." Maxwell said and Andrew nodded.

"Thank you for being here." Andrew told him and Maxwell softened.

"You couldn’t make me go somewhere else right now."

The smoothie was inedible. Andrew had no idea what he’d done to do so, but Andrew was okay with making them breakfast, even if Maxwell was pressed about it. Maxwell stewed about it, and Andrew even caught him looking up how to make a smoothie on his phone when he thought Andrew wasn’t looking.

It was a nice start to the morning, and when the others arrived, checking on them and making sure that Andrew was keeping to himself, Andrew didn’t even feel mad about it. He still felt like he was sandpaper, but Maxwell was acting as a buffer.

That all changed when they finally met the realtor.

The realtor that they were dealing with was a mated alpha. Kim, with Andrew’s permission, had let the company know that Andrew and Maxwell were looking for a home to settle down in that would work for both of them and had sent over the list yesterday. Andrew didn’t want to set them up for failure without giving them a chance, and Maxwell had agreed.

They mentioned nothing about Andrew being near his rut, but they did ask for either a beta realtor, or someone who was mated. Mainly so that Andrew didn’t trigger them with his rut. That was something he was now concerned about. He didn’t realise that that was something as a true alpha he could influence others with.

Kim had to assure him that one, Andrew wasn’t that kind of a person so he would never do something like that, and two, it was very rare for a true alpha to be able to do. But, to not take any chances, someone who was mated was a good idea.

The alpha was a well dressed male. Tall, towering over Maxwell, he was not quite as tall as Andrew.

Andrew picked up immediately that the other man didn’t like that. Andrew tried his best not to let that influence his opinion on the other man, especially when he offered warm smiles to both of them and handshakes. When he squeezed Andrew’s hand, the grip was tight, too tight, and Andrew knew that shit might hit the fan.

The realtor, with a tablet, showed them the listings that he wanted to show them. It was nice to actually get to see the houses before they arrived to visit them so that they didn’t feel like they were wandering before everyone headed out.

Andrew did notice that unlike the other place, the one that Thomas recommended, this one wanted them to come to their office in person first before meeting them at the first house. Andrew didn’t know how he felt about that, since it kind of felt like he was a show horse. Something to parade around.

Andrew kept some of his feelings to himself, but did ask if the man had shaken Maxwell’s hand too hard when they were alone in the car together. Maxwell made no comment about it, and so that left Andrew with something to think on as they made their way through the houses on the list.

Andrew wouldn’t lie. A lot of these houses were more aligned with what he wanted. The list they had sent over the previous day had certainly helped, and Andrew was finding less and less faults with the houses compared to yesterday.

That didn’t mean any of the houses were perfect though.

The first one, Andrew didn’t like the layout. It felt...strange. Like they had all the space, but didn’t know what to do with it. The second one, the kitchen was his worst damn nightmare. The cabinets were the worst. Maxwell just smiled and nodded, humouring Andrew as he went on his tirade.

Andrew could tell that the realtor was growing less patient, and that he was sneaking looks at Maxwell. Andrew hated that. He was mated. He was supposed to be mated. Unless he was also a true alpha, Andrew should have nothing to worry about, but something was rubbing him the wrong way.

At the third house, Andrew didn’t like the bathrooms. That was an easy enough thing to fix, but the space they had to work with meant that to fix them they would have to eat into the closet space, and Andrew didn’t want to give that up for Maxwell’s sake. Andrew said as much and swore he heard the other man scoff.

Andrew felt his eyes go amber, but Maxwell was the one who turned him away, lying to the realtor that Maxwell wanted to get another look at the backyard.

That told Andrew that Maxwell was noticing the little things as well, and when he knew that, Andrew was able to calm himself down. He wasn’t going crazy. The realtor was being a bit of a dick.

"Baby. Do you want to stop this?" Maxwell asked, far enough away that the realtor shouldn’t be able to hear them. Maxwell’s open concern for him warmed Andrew’s heart, and weakly, he dropped his head, burying it in his throat to gain some strength.

"I’m not going crazy, am I?" Andrew asked quietly and Maxwell ran his hand through his hair, comforting him.

"No. I’m noticing it too. Remember what Kim and Dad said." Maxwell told him and Andrew swallowed. He took a few more moments to gather himself before he nodded.

"Okay. Alright. Let’s continue this. I won’t give them the satisfaction to end this early. Let’s make it to the end."
