Chapter 257: Amber eyed and ready to fight

"Andy? I’ve called your Doctor friend, are you-" Kim was loud as she came in, her jacket billowing behind her, with Jenny trailing behind her. They both stopped in their tracks near the receptionist desk, taking in the scene before them. The scattered members around the office space. All of the meeting room doors open, and the smell of pheromones thick in the air.

Both of them who had already had rather serious expressions as they entered the agency, grew even more tense. Andrew swore that even from here he could see Kim’s jaw twitch. Luis and Thomas trailing behind them, both looking a little shocked, but also just as angry. Just as pissed.

All four of them gasped as they took in Andrew’s disheveled clothes, bloody knuckles, and how chaotic the whole office was. Kim’s realtor’s expression hardened. She had spun when she heard the door open, and Kim’s voice, but she didn’t look shocked at all to see Kim there. When everyone saw the man who Andrew had beaten up, Thomas whipped out his phone.

Andrew was sure that if Thomas had been a true alpha like him and Kim, he would have been able to smell the rolling anger off of him in the same way he was able to pick up Kim’s scent. In fact, now that some of his anger was fading Andrew was able to pick up on how intense this room really was.

He wasn’t feeling well, he could only imagine how Maxwell was doing.

"I’m calling the appropriate authorities." Thomas muttered, and it appeared that everyone in the office who had participated in this realised how deeply they had fucked up.

Brian, the idiot, didn’t seem to get it.

"That’s right! Someone needs to arrest him! Who the hell gets violent over some fucking photos of a house?" He shouted. Andrew, who had been working on controlling his anger and pheromones saw red.

"Max, go to your parents." Andrew ordered, more for his safety than anything else. Maxwell frowned. Maxwell leaned in, closer to Andrew and Andrew desperately wanted to just wrap his arms around him and run away. He couldn’t do that though.

"I don’t want to leave you alone." He muttered, worried, and Andrew couldn’t even smile to assure him.

"Max, I don’t want you to collapse like you did in the past. Please. Go to your parents. I’m not able to control myself right now." Andrew begged and Maxwell glanced over at the others, before he sighed.

"Kim? Can you come be with Andrew? I can’t." Maxwell tried to hide how much that statement hurt him, but Andrew could tell. He was going to have to comfort him when this was all over. Andrew felt like shit about it, but he was appreciative that even in this moment that Maxwell was looking out for him. God, he was glad to see that Maxwell was mostly back to his normal self, even if it was costing him something to leave Andrew’s side. Andrew would make it up to him.

Andrew was alone as Maxwell had pointed out. Besides Maxwell who he had gone to to make sure he was okay when Brian came out of the small meeting room, no one else was by Andrew’s side in this office. He was near the room that they had been shown to, and the other clients who had been in meetings were now wrapped up in this whole situation. It was a very ’us vs them’ feeling.

Kim didn’t even hesitate to agree, appearing as if she was already planning on it. She was furious, every step she took showing her contained rage. Andrew appreciated that she was doing her best, probably for Maxwell and Andrew’s sake to be on her best behaviour.

Kim’s realtor watched as Kim made her way towards Andrew, and there was a look of defeat in her gaze. It was clear that she was upset, but that she knew that now was the time to hold her tongue.

Kim’s realtor clearly had a significant role in the agency, and while Maxwell, and everyone else slowly made their way into the building, she was speaking to the other clients and apologising for getting them involved. Brian had been brought to a staff room that wasn’t fully visible, and Andrew appreciated that as Kim joined him at his side.

The first thing she did was begin to clean his hands. Jenny had given her some wet wipes from her bag before Kim had come over. Her eyes were hard, also amber, and it was clear from her pheromones filling the air that she was also pissed. Andrew kept his silence, more because he was focusing on not following Brian into that little staff room and finishing off the job.

It was only a short while later that the police arrived. Thomas had let them know that the altercation had mostly ended, someone did need medical attention, and their location. When the police arrived, they took one look of the room and headed directly for Andrew. Andrew tensed, worried. freёweɓnovel.com

It would make complete sense to go for the tallest man in the room, especially with Kim and Andrew both amber eyed and Kim cleaning his wounds. There was another, very clear reason why they would go for Andrew first, but Andrew was relying on the fact that Kim was nearby, Thomas was nearby, and that was it.

"Hello, we’re-"

"Ah, officers. Thank you for arriving. The problem is in the staff room." Kim’s realtor slid in, smiling grimly and putting herself in between Andrew, Kim and the police. Andrew felt his eyes widen as the smaller blonde woman stood her ground, clearly protecting Andrew in some capacity. The police slid their gaze from Andrew, to the smaller blonde woman.

"Did you call for us, ma’am?" They asked. It was a man and a woman, both alphas, and Andrew was too focused on the sudden tension in the room for him to check to see if they were mated or not.

"I didn’t, but I was only a few seconds from doing so. Our client’s father did, actually. The man behind me is another of our clients. They are a couple, and my employee said something so offensive to him that violence broke out. The instigator is being kept in the staff room. I would like to be there while you get his statement, because he’s a known liar." She said, and the police seemed to calculate what was happening, before nodding.

"Alright. Please lead the way, ma’am. We’ll have to come back to get a statement from you and your partner after, sir." They addressed Andrew, who nodded.

"I might take a break outside. I promise I won’t leave, just the pheromones are getting to be too much for me inside." Andrew told them calmly, and the officers nodded.

"Please don’t leave the property line, but we’ll meet you outside." Andrew nodded.

"I’ll be just outside the front doors. I believe I saw a bench there." Andrew confirmed. He really didn’t want to cause any problems with the law. If he was outside, he could sit with Maxwell. The thought helped calm him down, soothe the aching in his chest.

Kim and Andrew watched as they left, Kim’s realtor going with them. Kim was finished wiping up his knuckles and it appeared as if the damage wasn’t too extensive. Andrew was glad for it. He knew Maxwell would be more upset then he was.

Before Andrew and Kim made their way towards the others, the paramedics arrived and Kim pointed them in the direction that the police had gone. They did take a second to check Andrew’s wounds, giving him some disinfectant and that was pretty much it after they made sure his hands weren’t broken. Then Andrew was free to go outside and sit on that bench.

Luis, Thomas and Jenny were quite concerned when Kim and Andrew approached them. Luis looked particularly distraught. She was doing her best not to touch him, clearly worried that would set him off. Instead, she approached him and fluttered her hands about, wanting to comfort him, but clearly unsure how.

"Are you alright, Andy? My goodness! I can’t believe how they just-" Andrew shook his head, his lips turning up slightly.

"It’s okay, Luis. I just need to go sit outside for a minute. This is getting to be too much for me." Andrew muttered, and they parted. They had swarmed him, wanting to question him. They obviously knew that the whole day things had been building, but it was something significant if Andrew was the one that threw the first punch.

Maxwell was already standing by the front door, waiting for him. As if he was able to read his mind from across the room. Andrew did finally smile, grateful for the other man.

The group followed them outside, Andrew sitting down on the bench first, tilting his head back and letting the sun hit his face. Maxwell sat next to him, taking his hand in his and Andrew gave it a squeeze. Thankfully, no one said anything for a long moment, allowing Andrew to just...breathe without all of the tension and other pheromones in the room.

They didn’t get a chance to talk about what had happened before the police joined them outside, but Andrew didn’t mind. He had a few minutes of silence, surrounded by people who cared about him. He felt calmer, more stable. Less like a loose cannon.

It was a bit of a miracle how much punching that damn fool in the face over and over had really taken away some of his aggression.
