[BL] Challenge: 100 Baby in Fantasy World-Chapter 263: The Mist Has Gone
"Where are our things?" Wina asked, a hint of panic in her voice.
Without wasting a moment, they hurried to check the three rooms on the left corridor. Gara’s lab was still there, even larger than before.
However, one of the bedrooms —supposed to be Madha’s and Fian’s— was also empty. Their belongings were gone too.
"Maybe everything got moved upstairs?" Della guessed. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Without hesitation, they climbed the grand staircase to the second floor.
A wide, open hallway greeted them, leading to a balcony door. Four large bedrooms lined the hall.
After checking each one carefully, they finally found their belongings, neatly arranged inside those upstairs rooms.
"It really was moved to the second floor."
Wina let out a relieved sigh, though her eyes still darted around in awe at the elegant interior. The marble floors gleamed under the light, and the walls were lined with deep maroon carpets.
"Even the master bedroom in my old mistress’s mansion wasn’t this luxurious," Della murmured in disbelief.
Wina knew exactly what she meant.
Even though druids lived deep in the forest, Lady Vita was still the guardian of the Tree of Life, so her chambers had always been grand. But even so, they were nothing compared to this.
’This really looks more like a noble’s manor than a home,’ Gara thought.
When they climbed to the third floor, they found only one massive room there. A grand hall with wide corridors.
The rest of the floor was made up of two enormous balconies, one facing the front and another the back.
From the rear balcony, Gara could see a new watchtower standing tall behind the house and a second gate, smaller than the front one. The tower stood right behind the small forest.
But what truly caught his breath was the view beyond the gate. The mist that once surrounded their home... was gone.
Before his thoughts ran too far, Gara noticed that both Wina and Della looked just as startled.
Quickly, he tried to sound confident, blending his limited knowledge with a little bluffing so they wouldn’t worry.
"Looks like there’s now a territory beyond the manor grounds," he explained, gesturing vaguely.
"There’s a spring and a farm out there. You can’t see them from here, but I’m sure there’s a protective fence as well. So everything should be... safe."
In truth, Gara wasn’t entirely sure. He was only piecing things together from what he saw in the status panel.
They spent the next hour putting the triplets to sleep. Thankfully, the babies seemed to adapt easily to their "new" home.
Perhaps because they hadn’t really moved; it was the house itself that had changed around them.
It was the adults who were still struggling to adjust.
By the time the three men finished harvesting outside, they came in with curious faces, clearly itching to know what was going on.
Their shock mirrored everyone else’s when they saw how drastically the interior had transformed.
Gara led them through each floor, showing the changes, and finally down to the basement, which they hadn’t checked earlier.
"So the storage room did move to the basement," Gara said.
His gaze fell on one of the rooms filled with food supplies, seeds, and even Fian’s ice.
"We should move those ice blocks into another room and make a cold storage area," Gara suggested.
There were many rooms down here, each spacious enough to hold plenty. All of their supplies easily fit into just one.
Working together, they quickly began relocating the ice and perishable goods.
Gara lent a hand —quite literally— using streams of water to lift and carry multiple items at once, easing the others’ workload.
He didn’t want them to overwork after spending all day in the yard, but the move had to be done quickly.
While sorting through which items to move and which to keep, his eyes caught on a familiar flower— One-night Flower, the main subject in his recent experiments... and the one tied to Langga.
Heat rose in his chest again. The water that had been carrying the flower stopped mid-air.
He no longer cared about it.
By the time they were done, the new cold storage was set up neatly beside the main supply room.
"Since there are plenty of rooms here, I think we can divide the storage based on item type," Gara suggested.
He then told Ares to organize it later. No need to rush. They were already exhausted for the day.
As the evening chill settled in, Gara and the other three men stepped outside the mansion to walk around the manor grounds.
"This cold isn’t just because it’s getting dark, right? It’s because winter’s coming soon?" Madha asked.
"I’ve never seen snow before," Ares murmured, sounding almost like a kid waiting for a new toy.
"If this place really is inside the mist, somewhere on another part of this continent, it must already be close to winter," Gara replied.
He did confident, though he didn’t want to make assumptions. They would find out soon enough when winter actually arrived.
Behind the mansion, the horse stable they had built still looked the same. However, the fireplace chamber had changed. It wasn’t just a small door for feeding in firewood anymore.
Now there was an entire room, large enough for several people, with three separate hearths.
"I don’t really understand why there are three of them, but the most interesting part is... the smoke doesn’t come out anywhere," Gara said, frowning slightly.
"Yeah, there’s no chimney or vent," Ares agreed, nodding. He’d noticed that too. One of his chores was managing the fireplaces, so it had bothered him for a while.
"Let’s step outside. Maybe we’ll figure it out," Madha suggested.
Gara had already told them that the mist outside had vanished, though the high walls still kept them from seeing beyond the estate.
They decided to head to the watchtower first to check.
"There really is no mist anymore," Ares said, amazed.
To the west, a spring shimmered nearby, and to the northwest lay a large farm plot. It wasn’t planted yet, but the soil was neatly sectioned and ready for wheat.
"Too bad we’ll have to wait until next spring to plant," Gara muttered.
"Yeah. At least the land’s already prepared. We just need to make sure the soil stays fertile," Madha replied with a nod.
