[BL] Dear Hushand, I want divorce-Chapter 36: Losing temper
Chapter 36: Losing temper
Ash’s pov ;
"Fuck off!" I pushed Elijah away furiously as my chest heaved in scorn at his attempt to kiss me. "You bastard! You think you can just do whatever you want because you’re the boss? Fuck you, prick!"
"What? You don’t want a break?" He smirked, sensually wiping his lips with his thumb. "I’m giving you a chance to earn it."
I blinked in disbelief at the menace who blinked innocently making me even more angry. "I can handle both the secretary job and the drama. I don’t need your charity or your disgusting advances."
He snorted, raising a playful brow and circled his hand around my waist to pull me against his bulky body. "If you don’t have a problem working two jobs, then I don’t have a problem either. Just don’t come to me crying later."
I rolled my eyes and roughly pushed him back using my whole strength because this man is fucking strong. "Are you done with your fuckery? Because I’m done with you."
Without waiting for a response, I stormed out of the office, my footsteps echoing down the hallway. As I approached the auditorium, I could hear the buzz of excitement. The results of the auditions were being announced.
The room was filled with cast and crew. Conversations hummed around me, congratulating each other for getting a role. I stood on the fringes, receiving no acknowledgement or congratulations from anyone. It didn’t bother me, though. I’m used to being an outcast among my co-actors. And after the scandal I can understand no one wants to ruin their image by being seen around me.
The whispers and weird looks didn’t faze me. I had learned to steel myself against them. No matter how deep they try to cut into me, my walls are high enough to keep the worst of the pain out.
"Ash?" Suddenly, I noticed one of the directors approaching me with a warm smile on his face, a genuine one that seemed almost out of place in this sea of indifference from others. "Looking forward to working with you," he extended his hand.
"Me too, sir,"I nodded, managing a polite smile.
After a while, I got myself a last corner seat in the auditorium away from everyone’s prying eyes waiting for the next meeting to start. But then I heard a really disgusting voice that made me puke.
"I didn’t think you’d ever make a comeback in the industry," Looking up with an unconscious glare, I resented the dirty face that entered my sight. Benji came and sat beside me with his deceptively polite smile. I could see the hatred behind that smile.
Oh, I know how jealous he’s feeling right now.
"You must be feeling bad that I’m back," I shot back, not bothering to hide my disdain because there’s nothing to hide between. We are both aware of the disliking we have for each other.
But I’m curious why he’s pretending to be nice when we are alone.
He shook his head slowly with a laugh. "Why do you think like that? No one’s more happy than me. But seriously, it’s astonishing. After getting cancelled from the entire film industry and going to jail on a murder accusation, you still made it out. Did you sleep with the CEO of Stone Ent. to secure this role? I noticed earlier—you seemed quite close to Elijah."
I let out a low grunt, perfectly aware that he’s trying to provoke me. "I’d watch my mouth if it’s me."
He smirked wickedly. "Oh, come on, Ash. We all know the truth. You’re just a washed-up actor who got desperate. Sleeping your way to the top, isn’t that your style? It’s pathetic, really. How many more people will you use and discard? Or are you planning to stick around to Elijah this time?"
I inhaled deeply, my body tensing without my conscious and I felt my eyes twitching dangerously. Still, I clenched my fist under the table to control myself.
He stared as if reading my face before laughing loudly. "Oh, did I hit a nerve? So it’s true, then? You really sold your body to Elijah for this role. What did it take? A night? A week? How many times did you have to crawl into his bed?"
No! Everything would be ruined if I let my emotions take over and let my actions talk instead.
"You really are something else. First, you screw your way to the top, then you get caught in a scandal, and now you’re back to your old tricks. It’s pathetic. What’s next? Becoming a full time prostitute? But you know what? That job would suit you more than this–ughh!"
His ramblings were cut off by a hard punch across his jaw. "Shut your damn mouth!" The rage erupted in my veins and I finally lost myself in the haze of my turmoil. I swung again and landed another punch on his face.
"Ash! Benji!" Someone grabbed me from behind, pulling me away from Benji. But hell if I’ll let this bastard go easily. I kept punching him. "Ash! Let him go! Someone please call Mr. Stone."
"Ash, stop attacking him!" I heard the voice of the director.
Great! Here goes my first impression in front of him as this asshole wanted. Finally, I was pulled away from him.
"What happened? Why are you both fighting?" The director asked as I huffed aggressively, my hands still itching to beat the crap out of him.
I watched as he leaned on a few people for support. He fearfully glanced between me and the director, pointing a finger at me. "I w-was just congratulating him on getting the role...and he suddenly lost his temper a-and punched me. Look at this!" He touched his bleeding lip, wincing dramatically.
I violently groaned in irritation and tried to pounce on him again. "You motherfucker-"
"Ash, stop right there!" Before I could respond, Elijah appeared. His eyes swept over the scene, taking in the chaos of where Venji stood with a bloody face and the crowd whispered among themselves, obviously blaming me.
Elijah’s gaze hardened. And I unknowingly flinched and gulped when he barked his next words.
"What’s going on here?! Will anyone explain to me?!"
