Chapter 188: Under The Sea

After Qin An ensured Shen Lou’s situation to be alright, he let the young man be transferred to the clinic before he and He Li went to the small conference room to talk about some business.

"We’ve found Zhao Xiaopang’s father’s case." He Li began his words directly.

That familiar name caught Qin An’s interest as he remembered Zhao Xiaopang’s case. "What happened to his father?"

"After their son was found dead, his wife suffered deep grievances and couldn’t forgive herself for not noticing Zhao Xiaopang’s situation earlier. This led to her to have depression until she took her own life. As for his father, he was devastated by the incident of his own wife and son and thus committed suicide through jumping on a cliff and drowned." He Li put a small hologram on the table and a virtual appearance of Zhao Xiaopang’s father floated.

His name was also written below as Zhao Xiaodu.

"We’ve tracked the location where he died and found this place." The hologram changed and what Qin An saw surprised him a bit.

It looks familiar.

"Was this the place where the studio brought us?" he asked but the tone of his voice contained a statement that what he said was just the fact.

He Li nodded. "Yes."

"..." Qin An fell into silence.

This was also the place when Lu Nanxiao was almost drowned due to the dark elements that he encountered under the sea.

However, Qin An suddenly noticed the man’s expression seemed a bit different.

It was as if he wasn’t finished yet.

Qin An stilled and felt a bad premonition aroused inside him.

"Are you not finished yet?" he asked again with a more solemn voice.

He Li nodded and the hologram changed again.

What appeared in front of Qin An was the photos of different people with various ages. Men, women, teenagers, older ones, and even photos of children.

This made his frown deeper as he couldn’t understand what was happening. But before he could ask, He Li explains it by suddenly dropping a bombshell.

"These are the list of people... who died in this area."

"???"

"!!!"

Qin An’s usually stoic face cracked at what he heard.

The people who died? Just in this area?!

"... what happened?" Qin An put his hands on his temples because he could feel this new information would absolutely give him a headache.

"As we searched for Zhao Xiaodu’s remain, our team coincidentally found another remains from other people." He Li explains with a hint of heaviness on his voice. "We also investigate this matter and found that these people went missing for a long time. Their families couldn’t find anything about their disappearance and hadn’t given justice to them."

"Have you found out why they died?"

He Li pauses for a few seconds before nodding.

"They are connected to Sheng Anzhi, the old Admiral Sheng’s only son."

"He did it?" Qin An continued his hint and the latter nodded again.

Qin An finally couldn’t help but exhale a frustrating breath. Why does this family commit so many? Just for their greed and selfishness?

Listening to the Marshal, Qin An finally found the reason why the dark elements formed under the sea. It’s because of the deep resentment formed from the souls who died like this. Their deaths formed enough dark energy and grievance from something that they didn’t even want to experience.

Since they remained under the sea for a long time, the resentment had already consumed their souls and in this state, probably even justice wouldn’t be enough for them.

Their death caused resentment and what they experienced created the dark elements that fully consumed them to become evil.

This had to be fixed without any further delay.

"I have to go there." Qin An said.

He Li nodded but couldn’t help but speak of his hidden worry.

"The last time you were there, the dark elements that you encountered had affected you greatly. If you were to face them all, would that cost you great?"

Qin An didn’t answer him but it’s already obvious that it will be.

As he said, the human’s body unexpectedly gave him restraints on his job. A human’s body cannot withstand too much yin energy inside as this would affect the yang energy. The two energies keep on affecting him every time he uses spiritual energy so it was kind of hard for him.

What He Li was right.

This will really cost a lot of damage in his body and for how serious it’ll be, he also didn’t know.

But does he have a choice to back down or prevent this? No, he doesn’t.

And even if there is, Qin An won’t back down.

After some discussion with He Li, they decided to go to the place again. Since the second round of group competition was finished, the results will be announced tomorrow in the evening and there was nothing to do.

He Li excused Qin An and Su Jinxi from Qian Jin.

Another thing was Qin An requested Shen Lou to follow them. After what happened, they couldn’t be sure if something will target the young man again so it’s better for him to follow him for the time being.

He Li did not refuse his request and fortunately, Shen Lou woke up and thus they boarded the hover car immediately.

When they arrived, he wanted to go and check the situation but He Li stopped him and told to take a rest first.

Qin An agreed but went out and walked towards the cliff to observe the surroundings.

The waves are peaceful and silent as if the surroundings were very normal. Because the time is in the late afternoon, the orange rays from the sunlight were painted in the sky.

Qin An stood quietly and felt the soft wind caress his cheeks.

Unknown to others, underneath the breathtaking pictures of nature, the dark looming of resentment is floating everywhere.

It creates the bad omen that seems to be waiting to burst out any time. A calm before the storm.

Qin An sighs lightly and he suddenly hears footsteps coming from behind.

It was Shen Lou who had his eyes on the calm ocean.

"You can see it?" Qin An asked and the latter nod solemnly.

"Qin An," Shen Lou looked at him. "Can I ask a favor?"

Favor? It was rare for the young man to say those words so he turned his attention to him.

"What is it?"

"You said I could become a Taoist, can you help me?"

Qin An was stunned.
