Chapter 190: Fainted

On the other side, He Li and others are standing near the cliff and waiting anxiously for Qin An.

All of them have solemn expressions on their faces as they continue to stare below, not missing any possible second that might happen.

Shen Lou and Su Jinxi both have darker expressions on their faces as they were the only one who could see some of the color of the ocean that gradually turns black. It was the dark energy that Qin An told the earlier and even with just seeing them, they could feel the storm that’s brewing closer to them.

As for others, even when they can’t see it, the cold wind that suddenly begins brushing through them is enough to make them feel ominous. Silence engulfed them and they could feel that each second that passed, something would burst without further adieu.

It was not until Ji Wen noticed the changes on Shen Lou and Su Jinxi’s expressions that he broke the ice.

"Did something happen?" he asked when he saw their grim expressions.

"Someone is speaking." Su Jinxi answered. "No... they are too many."

"!!!" They gasped.

"Maybe they are the people who died here!" Hong Xiran commented.

"What are they saying?" Xu De asked but the two didn’t respond.

The voices that they are hearing keep them from talking.

The sound of leading, resentment, pain, despair— all of them are merging. It was as if their voices were right behind their ears.

Every word that they uttered seemed to integrate inside their minds— drowning them to the same feeling that the souls suffered every second of their time under the sea.

Qi Jian noticed their dazed expression and wanted to wake them up when both suddenly covered their ears tightly and groaned in pain.

"!!!"

The sudden situation shocked the group and the anxiety inside their hearts grew wider.

"W-What happened?!" Fu Minglei tried to ask them but both seem to be under the pressure of what they are hearing. The wind also blew wilder and the clouds above the sky moved as if a storm was forming.

As of now, Shen Lou and Su Jinxi just heard a loud scream so they couldn’t help but cover their ears. The unexpected pain also enveloped their heads so they groaned in pain.

The waves of the heavy emotions from the souls seemed to penetrate inside them and they didn’t know what to do.

If what is happening to them is already like this, what about Qin An who was in the direct scene himself? It was not only Shen Lou but everyone was thinking the same. They looked worriedly at the ocean but only felt extremely helpless.

They couldn’t do anything to help the young man. What can they do?

"Marshal..." Cheng Yu turned his head towards the silent Marshal with a deep worry on his tone.

He Li didn’t answer and just continued staring below.

"W-We need to help him..." Shen Lou struggled to say those words. His face was pale and it’s obvious that he was still not okay from what happened earlier and thus this new situation is making him harder.

"M-Marshal, we must help him now..." he continues with a weak voice. Shen Lou wanted to run towards the ocean but Ji Wen and others quickly held him.

"Shen Lou, you can’t!"

"Q-Qin An needs help!" The young man shouted in anxiety. Su Jinxi also agreed. Even with a distorted face due to the pain, she forces herself to look at He Li with a firm face.

"M-Marshal, please let me."

"Captain Su, your situation is not even better to help!" Hong Xiran stopped her but the latter didn’t agree.

"Marshal, only we can see the dark elements. Even if I didn’t know what to do, I still wanted to try and save the young man. I can offer my life!" Su Jinxi was firmer than ever.

This was her first time encountering this kind of situation and honestly, fear is creeping more faster inside her.

She can’t use her physical strength nor her high mental power but she didn’t want to standby and wait.

As a soldier, she wanted to do whatever she could to help the young man. Su Jinxi remembered the sharp temperament of the young man when they were in the room but she also couldn’t forget how thin his back was even when he was standing straight and strong.

Qin An needs help.

That young man is having a hard time doing this alone.

How could she just watch and wait?

Yet still, He Li didn’t say anything.

"Marshal!" Su Jinxi couldn’t help anymore but raise her voice due to the anxiety she’s feeling.

Ji Wen wanted to warn her but before he could do so, He Li finally spoke.

"I’ll go."

"!!!"

Everyone was shocked at his words.

The Marshal himself will go down? Even if they knew that he’s the strongest around here, can he really help? That’s something that they couldn’t do, so how?!

"Marshal—"

"Stay here until I say so." He Li announced and didn’t wait for their response. He grabbed the breathing machine and jumped down the cliff without hesitation.

"!!!"

"Marshal!!" He could hear the exclamation from them but he didn’t bother and started searching for the young man.

With his strength, He Li immediately spotted the young man.

He saw Qin An with a state that subconsciously made his heart skip a beat.

The young man seems out of state.

The expression on his face looked as if he was thinking too deeply and unaware with his surroundings.

If it’s just ordinary, maybe one would just think that he was reminiscing about something but the situation was far from ordinary.

The young man looked very out of guard and thus alerted him. He knew that Qin An won’t let his guard down easily especially in situations like this.

What happened?

As He Li started to swim towards Qin An, he suddenly felt his feet were caught by something.

But when he stopped and looked below, he saw nothing. This made his eyes narrowed sharply as he could still feel that something just entangled on his feet. That unknown and invisible thing even dared to start crawling upward and he could already feel it squirming on his leg.

But He Li couldn’t see anything.

This reality made the temperature around him decrease tenth-fold.

He Li knew he couldn’t do anything and thus decided to ignore the thing around him and swim faster towards Qin An. He thinks that in this matter, it is more important to go to him and wake him out of his senses.

The water under the sea is strangely colder even if it’s not too deep and the weather earlier was relatively normal. And as he swam deeper, the water was getting colder and colder as if the water was going to freeze.

He Li wanted to go faster but as seconds passed by, the unknown thing entangling around him felt heavier. It was as if it was stopping him from going forward.

But who is he? Even with the intense heaviness on his body, He Li endured that feeling and continued.

Fortunately, before that thing went completely around his body, he managed to go close to the young man and quickly hold his shoulders.

Unfortunately, even when he tapped and shook Qin An, the young man’s eyes were already dull and couldn’t be awakened. He seems to be completely engulfed by the unknown source and he couldn’t get to his senses.

He Li’s heart skipped a beat.

He quickly wrapped his arms around the young man in an attempt to get him out of here but the heaviness on his body went further than anything else.

This situation made him even start having a hard time moving. They had to get out of here real fast but he couldn’t move that much anymore.

He Li also looked around but couldn’t really see anything.

As seconds passed by, he felt that if this situation gets longer, no one will know what will happen to Qin An. freёnovelkiss-com

He must do something.

As he was starting to feel anxious, something caught his eyes.

It was the sword that Qin An has.

That long thin sword was on the young man’s hand and even if he seemed to be dazed, he still gripped the sword tightly on him.

The golden runes around the sword kept on flashing but it couldn’t do anything because the owner himself didn’t use it.

His eyes narrowed. Even if he couldn’t see the enemies, will he just let this situation stay? No.

He Li stretched his hand and grabbed the sword.

However, unexpectedly, when his hands touched the sword, a buzzing sound from the weapon happened.

"!!!"

He Li stiffened. Not because of what happened but his mind suddenly flashed with something.

The situation stunned him but he forced himself not to think about it for now and gripped the buzzing sword on his hand.

He Li didn’t know where to attack but he swung the sword to wherever direction he could think of. He didn’t know if he managed to attack the enemies but he had to protect the young man in his arms.

It’s just that the longer he holds the sword, the pain on his head becomes severe.

His expression became distorted but didn’t let go of the sword.

He didn’t know why he was feeling this way. Maybe it was just the effect from the sword or any other else.

For the first time, He Li felt an extreme frustration and unwillingness inside him.

He couldn’t do anything.

If this continues... how could he just let the young man fight alone?

As time passed by, He Li finally managed to get out under the sea. He pulled the young man out of the water and he took a deep breath.

"Marshal!" His team spotted him and quickly moved.

He Li wanted to speak but before he could do it, something inside him snapped and he couldn’t hold on anymore too.

He fainted without any warning with the young man on his arms tightly protected.
