[BL] Debut in Interstellar After Retiring as Grim Reaper-Chapter 247 - 246: Bizarre
Chapter 246: Bizarre
When Qin An woke up and regained his strength. He was told about what happened, especially to the decision from the private meeting.
They had an argument about what path for him to continue; to stay in the competition and be an idol or retire and be a full-fledged grim reaper again.
Others certainly don’t want him to be distracted on other things especially considering how important his abilities are. The country had long been constantly trying to develop ways to deal with the mental pollution, and not only can Qin An find a way to deal with it but also of how important to them about the souls of the dead.
For them, sending those souls to where they were supposed to go was the last thing they could do, especially for the comrades and families they’ve lost from all over the years.
On the other hand, others also considered the young man himself. Since Qin An chose that path to be an idol rather than directly coming to them, the young man might have a reason for himself. They’ve done investigation and watched the young man’s performance and honestly, seeing him on that stage evoke a trance of pity.
Qin An had been honestly spending his years serving the world, what’s the matter of giving him a life that he truly wanted? These were the reasons from those who knew Qin An himself, like Professor Jian and Hou Nian.
Furthermore, what He Li added strengthened their side.
"The grim reaper isn’t suitable inside a human body. The two energies will only clash inside him especially if he’ll constantly work. He needs to rest, if not what happened earlier was just a peek of an iceberg. In addition, if everyone knows his identity, are we even worthy of his hard work?"
He Li looked at everyone. "Troubles will come sooner or later once his identity becomes public."
"Marshal, we understand that concern, but given our situation you know how the military needs his help. If he cures our soldiers, that will be a significant help to defeat zergs."
"Then we’ll find another solution."
President Xia Qianchen’s interest was touched upon hearing He Li’s voice that seemed to sound confident.
"Does the Marshal have an alternative idea to share perhaps?" He asked.
"The peach blossom tree may have sufficient energy to supply him earlier but it’s certain that it’s not permanent. However, we can use other resources to back it up."
Everyone’s attention shifted on He Li’s words.
"And what kind of resources is this, Marshal?"
"Qin An had told us that there are now people with the ability to see ghosts. They are the chosen one, aren’t they? In ancient times, their profession can be called as taoist. To help him lessen the burden, these people must be trained well."
He Li proceeded on explaining Shen Zhi, Su Jinxi, and Shen Lou’s situation and the newly found abilities. "To train them, we must also learn how to control and use spiritual energy."
"But Marshal, we didn’t even know where they came from aside from the young man himself and the old tree."
"There’s another one, the Era itself."
Everyone was stunned at the mention of their planet instead.
"Spiritual energy came from a natural force from the natural things around us. It was not discovered further in the past because we now live in science and technology whereas things like this have all become just a part of history. We can use the planet’s energy itself just like how we used the old tree. As for the method, I believe that Professor Jian and others have found information from history."
Is it even possible? Everyone fell into doubt from the Marshal’s statement. But he looks so sure anyway. Maybe they can try? Although everyone felt a bit skeptical, they still agreed at the end to try.
As for the young man’s matter at the end, Xia Qianchen intervened and they decided to give the young man the choice on his hands. No matter which identity he’ll choose, they must accept it.
Qin An lowered his eyes as he listened to Ji Wen before asking.
"Where is he?"
"Are you talking about the President? He just left—"
"I mean the Marshal," he cut off.
"He’s still in the private room," Ji Wen answered. When he saw that the young man nodded and looked as if he wanted to see the Marshal, a thought flashed on his head and he quickly called Qin An back.
"Mr. Qin..." a hesitant look on his face was painted.
"Is there something wrong?"
"Actually I don’t know how to even say this but..." Ji Wen certainly doesn’t want to gossip something about the Marshal behind his back but after what happened hours earlier when they were still outside, he just couldn’t help but wonder.
He could just even consult this to his teammates whom he trusts wholly but he felt that the young man in front of him could give him an answer instead.
Thus, at the end he still voices out his observation about the strange thing about He Li’s attitude. It was a subtle change that even someone who is close to him won’t be noticed easily but who is Ji Wen? Ever since he was a child, he was already with the Marshal with every ups and down. He knew the man closely without a doubt.
Something changed about him. Although nothing appears physically or even the way he decides on something, but just the subtle temperament that the latter subconsciously exudes when Qin An suddenly faints from the overused spiritual energy. The way he commanded and the way he set things was too easy as if he was even familiar with what just happened.
They may have information about Qin An and his identity but they don’t have thorough knowledge. So how could the Marshal be so sure about the young man’s situation? Unless he dealt with something like that in the past which is even more impossible.
Qin An went silent after hearing it.
"I’ll see it first..."

Qin An went on his way to the private room to meet He Li. His face was just normal even with the information that had been brought to him earlier.
For him, their decision and thoughts were normal. It’s normal that they thought to keep him close for their own benefit so he didn’t feel much down and just focused on how Professor Jian and others fought for his rights.
They did whatever they could just to give time to refresh himself. This was the thing that he never experienced in his life.
As for He Li’s matter, it was even more bizarre.
He never told them about the qi of the planet itself. Not because he’s lying but this world has too deep resentment from all the years.
The planet had been enduring this pollution quietly and thus giving everyone a chance to breathe. If not, this planet would have long been dead.
It was indeed shocking how He Li knew this.
Or what kind of information did they find?
Qin An had these thoughts for a while and opened the door of the private room, ready to have a conversation with He Li.
Yet when his eyes landed on the man inside, his whole body went frozen.
The man was just sitting in his usual position with his gaze outside the glass wall in front of him.
It may look normal outside but for Qin An, something too bizarre is just flashing on his eyes right now.
Because behind He Li, or the shadow of the man doesn’t look how it was supposed to be.
Instead, Qin An could clearly see a huge dark shadow that’s almost covering the man itself eeriely standing behind him.
