Chapter 261: A Mourning Heart Of A Child
Pei Rouyao regretted something.
She shouldn’t have let anyone see her. She shouldn’t have come to this place and met Brother Qin and Xingxing!
Or she shouldn’t have stayed with her brother’s side!
Rouyao had been lonely ever since she died.
At first she didn’t even know how she ended up this way. The last thing that she remembered with her mother was that evening wherein a hovercar just drove fast towards them without any care.
Pei Rouyao remembered the horrified expression on her mother’s face before she was pulled into her tight embrace. Without hesitation, her mother covered her with her own body before that excruciating pain was thrown at them.
The hovercar was overturned, the glass was shattered when they fell on the ground. The pain that struck her was too unbearable. Even when her Mother hugged her tight, the collision with the ground was too heavy.
Blood was splattered around them and she cried heavily.
Rouyao remembered how she screamed in pain and how her mother tremblingly raised her blood stained hand to caress her cheeks.
At the last moment, her Mother apologized softly before closing her eyes. Rouyao was devastated and shouted for help. She called for anyone, she begged anyone to come.
She screamed at the top of her lungs and called for her brother but no one came that night.
Until the wound on her body became too painful, she coughed a large amount of blood and her energy gradually drained.
Rouyao helplessly lay her body to her mother and she felt a force was pulling her to sleep. She couldn’t shout for help anymore and could only dazedly endure the torturous pain on her little body.
Until darkness consumed her.
When she woke up in the next second, she was standing in front of the crashed hovercar.
Rouyao was even shocked when she could no longer feel the pain on her body. She thought at first that she was now safe and began looking for her mother.
But it was no vain.
No matter how she ran around, there was no mother.
Rouyao wanted to look at another place but was stunned when her eyes happened to see what’s inside the hovercar.
She saw herself and her mother.
But how could that be? Who was her mother hugging when she’s already here outside?! What was even more surprising was when she subconsciously ran towards, her body just penetrated inside the hovercar. She couldn’t touch anything.
That’s when she finally realized something was wrong and started calling for her mother again. She begged the latter to wake up and stop staying inside the car but she didn’t listen.
Even when people finally arrived after such a time they didn’t seem to notice her. They just put their attention to the people inside the hovercar and hurriedly left.
She also followed and saw how her drunken father stood like a solid rock outside the room all night long. There was no usual anger that she always saw in his eyes but rather the clarity and devastation in his eyes. Even when tears were streaming down his face he stayed standing outside the door where they placed her mother and ’her’.
When her brother arrived Rouyao immediately went to him but just like others, he just passed through her body. Her brother was fast to open the door and she could hear his loud cries inside the room.
Her father flinched and fell down on his knees and started crying loudly too.
Rouyao was left dumbfounded and heartbroken because they kept on ignoring her.
Why can’t they seem to see her? Why are they ignoring her?!
Rouyao was left in endless pain and suffering because of her situation. Gradually she seems to understand her helpless situation and could only choose to follow her brother wherever he goes.
She stayed with her brother all these years but the latter couldn’t see him. And all she herself knew how many days and nights she cried and asked why won’t her brother look at her.
She’s envious of the people who can openly be with him, especially to the children he’s with. Pei Rouyao missed her brother and his care towards her everyday.
Thus when she found out that Brother Qin could see her, she was overjoyed. Her loneliness was finally over and she could now communicate with others. What was even more exciting was when she got to know Nan Xing and became friends with her.
Rouyao missed having a friend so much so she was very happy.
Yet, all this lasted short when her brother knew she was here.
The anticipation to have a conversation with him disappeared when she saw the guilt in his eyes.
She watched her own brother fall into another devastation again.
Pei Rouyao wanted to console him and tell him that she didn’t want him to feel any guilt for not seeing her. It was not his fault— no one was.
But Pei Roujin kept on apologizing over and over again.
Until when she heard him saying to wait for her, a bad premonition shook her.
She watched in disbelief as he lifelessly went to the bathroom and started harming himself.
Pei Rouyao was petrified and quickly wanted to snatch the dagger but couldn’t.
"N-No... no..." She fearfully shook her head and her eyes went red. "B-Brother! W-What are you doing?!"
Pei Rouyao waved her hand in an attempt to stop but was left in a helpless situation.
Fear and despair began to rush on her especially when she saw how the blood made the cold water turn red and her brother’s face began to distort in pain.
"Brother! Brother don’t do this! P-Please don’t do this!" She cried loudly.
For the second time again, Pei Rouyao kept on shouting and calling but no one heard her.
It’s not right! Why is he doing this?! Why is he hurting himself? Why would he do this?!
"B-Brother, p-please stop this!" She screamed but nothing.
When Pei Roujin slowly submerges himself underwater, she finally finds herself a force to move. She quickly ran outside to seek help.
There was no use asking for everyone because no one can see her aside from Brother Qin and Xingxing so she must find them immediately and save her brother!
Fortunately on her way, she saw Nan Xing and her brother on their way to the training camp.
"Xingxing!" Rouyao shouted at the top of her lungs and ran faster.
"Huh?" Nan Xing was stunned and looked towards her.
"Xingxing! Please help me! Help my brother!"
All that happened next was chaos as they found others rushing towards the apartment to save Pei Roujin. When they saw the man drowning himself with the water turned red, they quickly rushed and carried him to the nearest hospital.
"X-Xingxing, I don’t want my brother to die!" Rouyao was devastated.
She never wanted her brother to feel this way upon learning the truth. She wanted him instead to feel proud because she had seen his glory and how he stood on stage.
All she wanted was a proper conversation and a last goodbye, but why did he choose this?
"Brother, can we call Brother Qin?" Nan Xing asked Nan Mohuai.
"Okay, I’ll try."
While the doctors were inside the room, the scene was sealed quickly by the company as they worked on letting this news be hidden.
Chen Jiang also heard what happened and quickly rushed over. Meanwhile after Qian Jin received the news he also immediately went for Qin An who was with Gu Yijin.
They didn’t bother the young man who went with them anymore and rushed towards the hospital.
At this moment, Pei Rouyao was hoping that Qin An could help her by letting her brother see him so she could persuade not to do that anymore.
She hopes to have a conversation with him and comfort her brother because it is really not her fault.
It’s just that right after Qin An arrived, someone from the emergency room came out.
... It was Pei Roujin himself in a soul state.
