Chapter 264: Dedication

The fan’s name is Yu Anli. She was born from a wealthy family and has had the privilege to have the things that she wants ever since. It might sound very lucky but the downside was her own body.

It turned her heart cold. Frustration started building inside her. The anxiety, the helplessness and loneliness gradually creep inside.

Her little days started to feel very suffocating and such stress would only worsen her condition.

Yu Anli knew it was bad but she just couldn’t stop. She couldn’t stop feeling envious, she couldn’t stop her heart from aching to that beautiful world.

Her riots became even more frequent that the family eventually moved her to her new home for rehabilitation and inclusion.

Now she couldn’t even meet her own family out of the worry that she might affect them. What accompanied her most was the robots that she couldn’t even talk to truthfully like a human.

One time while she was thinking about what to paint, a short video appeared on her screen. Out of boredom she watched it and her attention was caught by Pei Roujin’s character.

The latter was even merely just a background character in the movie. He played as a young master who was isolated due to the genetic disease which led to his legs being disabled.

As Yu Anli watched the short clip unveiled, a strange feeling grew inside her.

Somehow she felt related to his character.

Even if Pei Roujin can go outside, the fact that he was imprisoned by the disability of his feet made him incapable of doing many things.

There is high technology that can certainly help him remove his legs and maybe just replace it with prosthetics but Pei Roujin’s character has a stubborn personality. He won’t yield with that kind of solution and chose to endure and embrace himself instead.

At first she couldn’t understand. She even felt a bit frustrated because of his decision not to have something that could change his life. What’s the matter with having fake legs? After that, you can walk, run and go to every place that you want to go. Yet he didn’t accept it.

What’s so good about having a condition? What’s so good about imprisoning yourself?! Yu Anli couldn’t accept it.

It turned out later that Pei Roujin’s character was an illegitimate son. He chose to stay like that because the family won’t target him. Being inside a large family where everyone became your own poison and enemy, he was not included to be on it.

As he was not eligible as an heir, Pei Roujin’s character has more freedom and away from the chaos. While the other characters are busy fighting for their rights, his character stayed behind everyone and just chose to live peacefully.

And as Yu Anli watched him, she couldn’t help but think about her condition. Unlike him, her family truly loves her.

Even with their busy schedules they would find time to visit her. It only lasted for a minute and so, they didn’t miss a day. Her legs are also just fine and she can do more things than his.

Yu Anli realizes that they have their own chain on their body. Pei Roujin’s freedom was chained as he chose to protect his peace while hers was due to the helplessness from the mental pollution. And even though she knew she could persuade her family to do things for her, she didn’t try or think about doing so that would worry them.

She and Pei Roujin’s character has a desire to have the freedom that won’t bind them to have a peaceful life.

Since then Yu Anli felt that someone was accompanying her. Everyday, she would look forward to seeing his character and felt as if she had a friend that she can relate to.

Yu Anli would feel comforted that she wasn’t alone on having a tough journey in life. Even though it was just a character in the movie, because Pei Roujin himself put a lot of justice and creativity, his character was remembered by many.

She also began looking forward to the actor himself and joined others to admire his journey.

Yu Anli just found herself looking forward to seeing him everyday. As she does her hobbies. Even if she was alone she felt no longer alone.

Pei Roujin brought something called a companionship towards her.

Thus she was truly grateful. She supported the young man and seeing him achieving great success in life, she also felt fulfilled.

She hopes that he’s always happy.

But things go wrong one day when her mother died from the last war with the Marshal and others.

Her mother became one of the heroes who fought herself all throughout the fight for the country that she loves the most.

And the family couldn’t bear it.

Her father became depressed and her siblings had to take all the pressure while holding the family up.

As for her, their visiting became visibly late until they no longer had a little time to see her.

Yu Anli was left again.

What’s more was about Pei Roujin’s family incident which blew the internet. Pei Roujin was one of the families who was a victim of such cruelty.
