(BL) Mafia Love; He who falls the hardest loses-Chapter 52: Bad news?
Chapter 52: Bad news?
It was already eight in the morning when Haruki woke up according to the digital clock on the nightstand. Haruki turned and looked at the man whose hand was around his waist.
He had a chance to vent enough frustrations. Well, that was what he chose to believe as he looked at the man’s peacefully resting face.
Hiroshi’s lips were loosely closed as though inviting him to dive in. He swallowed and looked away wondering what was wrong with him if he was already feeling this way after what happened last night.
He heard a low deep hum from the man behind him. He turned nonchalantly to meet the gaze of the man. The warmth flowing out of the man’s light brown eyes seemed to be a flood after what happened last night.
He hated that someone saw him at the lowest he had been since he became chairman. Could be a lower position than him masking his tears with laughter? And why the hell did his eyes get teary in the first place?
With a frown, he looked away from the man’s gaze and prepared to stand up. The fact that he was sulking last night does not mean his life as chairman was on hold. He still had responsibilities he had to attend to.
"Sleep a little more," the doctor’s deep voice suggested before his hand held his wrist casually.
"I’m busy," Haruki replied uninterestedly.
"Only thirty minutes before this slave of us regains enough energy to rise on his own," Hiroshi murmured his voice sounding a bit spoilt.
"Are you joking?" Haruki’s voice sounded notably cold and a bit irritated.
"No, why would I joke about spending thirty minutes more with my master?" Hiroshi asked moving the focus of the discussion to their relationship rather than what happened last night that Haruki looked like he was not in the mood to talk about.
Haruki rose and decided to ignore the man completely but his wrist was caught again. With an unexpected tug, he was pulled to the bed directly into the man’s embrace.
"Ugh . . . I was not expecting that to hurt," the doctor’s voice came so close to his ears along with his warm breath tickling Haruki’s sensitive skin.
Haruki hated how he let his guard down around the man. He was not sure if there was anyone in the world who could easily pull him down without enough resistance to either prevent it or leave the person with an injury well, except the man in whose arms he laid.
"Let me go," Haruki warned between clenched teeth as his hand found their way to the man’s bare side under the blanket swiftly before pressing his fingers against the man’s defenceless skin.
"Plea. . . Ah . . . okay!" Hiroshi released the man immediately before rolling away groaning in pain.
"It won’t be a simple bruise next time."
"Okay! I said I’m sorry," the doctor responded his tone spiked with hearty laughter.
Haruki glanced back at the man whose body shook. He could not determine if it was in pain or laughter. He shook his head in disbelief holding back a verbal comment to confirm that the man was a masochist.
What could make him so happy about the twisting pain in the abdomen Haruki was sure the injury he gave the man would cause. He sighed as pushed open the door of the bathroom and walked in.
As he cleaned up, his mind was crowded with the plans he had for that day. There was so much to do especially when handling his uncles. He groaned slightly.
Left to him alone, he would simply order for their demise to clear them and their crazy kids away from his path but then he would have to kill every one of his grandfather’s relatives to accomplish that.
One death disguised as suicide was not his granduncles would be angry with but with two of them, he was sure the rest of them would feel intimidated but their fear could expand towards the wrong direction, especially with their untamed kids.
A good marriage agreement with yet another distant relative of the royal family was more than enough to cushion a bit of the effects of their thoughtless actions but that was good as gone.
He frowned as he walked out of the bathroom in his robes to see Hiroshi in his walk-in closet.
"I wanted to pick something out for you," Hiroshi casually informed before he could ask.
"No one asked you to," Haruki reminded the man.
The man met his gaze very calmly like a still pond before returning the suit he was holding. He met Haruki’s gaze firmly before walking out of the walk-in closet.
Haruki sighed wondering what misfortune he caused the nation in his past life to get attracted to a man as gutsy as the doctor.
When he glanced through the suits he had, his gaze finally fell on the suit Hiroshi had chosen early and he had to admit that the man had good style or good knowledge of his style.
He ignored the suit and went for something else. By the time he was done in the walk-in closet, the man was done with his morning routine in the bathroom.
He looked fresh with a white towel tied almost too loosely around his waist well, except for the red bruise on his side that formed very distinctly different from his pale skin.
"It will disappear," Hiroshi leisurely told Haruki looking down at his bruised side. He walked towards Haruki and smiled calmly meeting Haruki’s gaze.
"I will just create another one," Haruki warned when the doctor got even closer until he could inhale the scent of the body wash he used.
The man smirked maintaining the small distance between them before saying, "If that is what my master wants."
Haruki felt like he was going to lose his mind with how many times Hiroshi proudly announced a master and slave-relationship between them. With a disinterested look, he walked past Hiroshi to the room.
"Can I come back tonight?"
"No, I am busy," Haruki responded curtly without turning to look at Hiroshi. When the man remained silently behind him, he added, "Come back when the bruise healed."
"Okay!" the doctor’s excited response filled the room.
He turned to the man whose voice sounded as though if he had a tail, it would be wagging aggressively but the man’s calm collected appearance gave him the illusion that the man must have adjusted his appearance to deceive him.
Haruki turned away to escape the room that held the undeniably romantic affair that went between them. It was less of lust and more of gentle caresses that spoke of how much he was cared for. With his hand reaching for the door, he knew he had to throw his weakness away before stepping out.
"Wait!" the doctor stopped him hurriedly before adding, "I don’t have clothes to wear, could I wear yours?"
"Hmm," Haruki gave him a nod of allowance before opening the door.
"Boss," Kiyoshi hurriedly bowed before him when he had barely walked out of the room. His hands shook on his side as he waited for Haruki to respond to him.
Haruki’s eyes furrowed. This was the first time he had seen his coolheaded assistant look so nervous. "What happened?"
"One of the guests at this hotel went missing a while ago and it was traced that the last place he was seen was on the floor he stayed," the assistant’s words flowed out hurriedly.
"I thought it was something more serious." Haruki knew this was not the first time this happened and he was certain that regardless of where the person was, he would find the person and bring them back safely.
"It is serious. The media got news of it. He is the son of a country on a solo trip."
Haruki froze visibly for two seconds which felt like an eternity as a flood of thoughts rushed through his mind.
