(BL) Mafia Love; He who falls the hardest loses-Chapter 72: Witnesses
Chapter 72: Witnesses
"Please calm down," Hiroshi began pleading once again as he raised his hand to touch Haruki’s arm, but his hand was hit hard away from Haruki.
Haruki met Hiroshi’s gaze, which was marked by pure disgust evident in his obsidian eyes. He looked down at Hiroshi’s hand that had reached for him and raised his head to look into Hiroshi’s eyes before turning away to the door.
Hiroshi didn’t give up but reached to block the door again, even at the expense of a potential injury from the door hitting him.
"Could you listen to me, please?" Hiroshi asked in pure desperation.
Haruki didn’t spare him a glance as he opened the door and got into the car. Hiroshi stopped him just before he could close the door. Hiroshi begged again and again, repeating his explanations over and over, as he prevented Haruki from closing the door of his car.
The man’s desperation in his pleas filled Haruki’s ears, weighing heavily on his shoulders. It forced him to turn his face to the doctor.
He felt a strong urge to give the man a chance, considering the hundreds of words the man had poured out to him in despondency were too depressing for him to choose to leave the man, who looked as though he would break down mentally, although his eyes were not teary.
Haruki felt that if he did not understand the man’s desperation to stay on his side was all physical due to the pleasure he introduced the man to, he would have thought the man was in love with him and pleading to prevent a breakup.
Haruki held back a sigh. The man loved the pain he gave him, which was why he did not want to lose the relationship between them, even when it was obvious a woman as beautiful and smart as Miyoko wanted to be with him.
Haruki felt a bitter taste in his mouth caused by his thoughts, and he felt a stronger urge to punish the man severely. What he did not want to believe was that the urge did not come from what he saw between the doctor and Miyoko, but the reminder that the man simply wanted something physical.
The man loved the pain, and he had chosen Haruki to be the one behind it. It was a safe place after all, a doctor smart and respected like himself wouldn’t want such a bedroom affair out in the open, so he must be unable to find a casual sex partner.
Haruki was a safe partner considering their relationship of employee and employer, and they both stood at a disadvantage if everyone knew of what they did behind closed doors.
Although it was certain that no one would find out from any of them, that was the reason why they chose each other, especially with where Haruki stood in their relationship, a position he was not particularly proud of.
"If you come with me, you might not survive it," Haruki met the man’s gaze coldly and warned him seriously.
He could not judge what would happen with his uncontrolled impulse as much as he considered giving the man a chance. He was almost certain they would need a good cleaning job if he found out the doctor was in a relationship with Miyoko.
Hiroshi’s eyes dimmed, giving him a sad, dejected look before bowing deeply as he replied firmly, "Okay."
"What do you mean? I didn’t hear you," Haruki said sternly like a bad teacher tired of dealing with a student with learning difficulties.
Haruki was calm and stern on the surface, but Haruki’s words had surprised him. He wondered if the man underestimated his threat or if the man was just brave enough.
"You might lose your life," Haruki repeated the warning clearly to make sure the man heard what he had said.
He meant every word more seriously this time as he saw Hiroshi’s response to him as a challenge, as though the man believed no harm could come to him, even with Haruki’s threat, that Haruki felt a strong urge to let the doctor know he meant it.
Hiroshi nodded even more firmly as he met Haruki’s gaze. His eyes had returned to their warm brown glow, all the fear and desperation gone as though they never existed, when he begged Haruki as though, without the man, he would cease to exist.
Haruki looking at the man felt as though all that happened was an illusion but since he had given the man an option, he decided to go with it even though the man looked as though he had taken up the challenge willing to fight till the end in whatever game they both seemed to be playing subconsciously.
He did not bother holding back the sigh this time, as he reached the closed door after telling the man, "Fine, get in."
Hiroshi stepped away this time, and Haruki could close the door before he went to the other door and got in beside Haruki.
The journey was quiet and tense; Hiroshi could easily feel Haruki’s rage even in his quiet state. He thought of how he had only felt a few emotions from Haruki since they got together. It was as though when Haruki was not angry, he was filled with desire towards him or complete indifference.
It was his birthday, but he had to ruin Haruki’s visit. There was nothing better than the fact that Haruki took time off to visit him at work. It was something he would have been overjoyed about if Miyoko hadn’t hugged him.
He remembered the look Miyoko gave him before he left her standing. She tried to get him to leave when she saw Haruki. She tried to make him miss the fact that Haruki had paid him a visit on his birthday. She tried to steal away the best birthday gift he could remember getting in his entire life.
She acted on her emotions and the feelings she had for Haruki. As long as she gets the love she wanted, she would not bother about anything else, even though her actions would cost him.
He looked ahead at the road, but the harder he stared, the more everything got blurry. What right does he have to judge her for what he did? He was no saint. He knew of the feelings Haruki had for Aki and still hid that fact from Aki because he loved Haruki.
They were two people in love and simply wanted to be with the person they loved, so he could not judge her, nor could he get angry with her, but he made a mental note to avoid her as much as possible, and if he could, he would completely cut her out of his life.
Aki was no longer in Haruki’s life, and with the way Miyoko’s presence in his life has been the cause of the major arguments he has had with Haruki, it would be foolish of him to keep her around him.
However, more than that, he wished Haruki would see him as more than just a sex partner who immediately becomes filthy at the slightest misunderstanding, but as someone he could trust and... maybe by the intervention of luck, someone he loves.
He wanted an upgrade in his position beside Haruki. That was too much for him to hope for, too much for him to wish for, especially when he had a knife hanging above his head from that incident.
When everything happened, they had two major audiences: Miyoko and Dr. Yamamoto. Each of them had their own thoughts about what they had witnessed.
Dr. Yamamoto first thought his son had offended Haruki with all he witnessed. That was a defence mechanism to prevent him from thinking any further about it, but that would be impossible.
He was watching his son get hugged in a woman’s arms on his birthday. He was grateful his son was not asexual after all, and there seemed to be something beautiful going on between them, but his boss, Haruki, walked in and put an end to everything.
He saw Hiroshi panic for the first time since he was born, and he was forced to think beyond the defensive thought to see that perhaps his son was in love,, but in love with the wrong person, a dangerous person.
Miyoko immediately knew what was happening when she saw Haruki pause with his gaze fixed on them. She did not want to believe it, and in a panic,, she tried to end whatever was going on between them.
She did not succeed, and the gaze Hiroshi gave her afterwards was enough for her to know whom Hiroshi always spoke about when he referred to the person he loved. Hiroshi was in love with Haruki, and Haruki seemed to be accepting of that feeling.
Everything that had happened in the past fell into place, giving her an understanding that she might never succeed. Hiroshi must hate her so much for the obvious mistake she made. freewebnøvel.coɱ
The feeling of defeat weighed heavily on her shoulders as she glanced around, seeking a quick escape for her to meet the gaze of Hiroshi’s father.
