[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 57: A Family He Never Have
The next day, as usual, Arcane woke up early in the morning and saw Julian still asleep on top of her. Slowly, he lowered the man, letting him sleep soundly while he left the room.
As soon as he left Julian’s room, he smelled coffee coming from a different direction, and when he followed the aroma, it turned out to be coming from the kitchen.
In that room, Megara was seen drinking her morning coffee before making breakfast.
The woman looked very elegant, her gaze was gentle, and the way she dressed was like a normal mother. Arcane stood frozen for a moment in front of the kitchen door, as if he was reminded of his own mother.
’Every morning, mother always sat with a cup of hot coffee before starting the day, helping Grandma at the restaurant,’ he thought at that moment.
Realizing his presence, Megara smiled and called out to the man. "Arcane."
For a moment, he was startled, but he tried to control his reaction and walked closer.
"Good morning, Mrs. Thorne," he said in greeting.
"Good morning, Arcane. How did you sleep last night?" she asked softly.
He nodded, saying that he had slept soundly last night and now felt much better than before. He also thanked them for accepting him and allowing him to be by Julian’s side.
Megara chuckled when she heard this. She admitted that she still found it hard to believe what had happened, because she felt that her baby was now truly grown up.
"I remember how he used to wet himself in kindergarten because he was too scared to introduce himself to his friends. Now he’s married to someone, my baby is all grown up," she said affectionately.
Hearing this, Arcane laughed too because he had just found out about his husband. He thought it could be a new joke to play on Julian.
"Before he left, I saw doubt in his eyes. He was unsure about the new world he was going to, but now that doubt is gone. Instead, I saw you in his eyes." Megara looked into Arcane’s eyes and smiled at him.
Seeing how Julian had defended him the night before, Megara felt that now she understood her son’s purpose in life more clearly. Her loneliness and loss when she let Julian go to the city, bringing something new to them, had not been in vain.
The woman then stood up from her seat, preparing to make breakfast. She intended to make chicken cream soup with corn. Arcane also stood up, offering to help her.
"Let me help you. I can’t just accept your kindness, especially when he’s watching you cook," he said.
"Okay. Help me clean and cut up the chicken. Can you do that?"
"Sure."
The two of them spent time together in the kitchen, cooking while talking about Julian’s childhood. From that conversation, Arcane got to know his husband better, what he was like as a child.
And he felt that Julian’s parents’ reaction to his change was not an overreaction. But since childhood, Julian had been a very spoiled child, and now he wanted to do everything himself. It was a huge change.
At exactly 7:15 a.m., breakfast was finally ready. At the same time, Julian woke up from his sleep. Behind him, his father walked in after returning from his morning jog. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"What is this? You’re still waking up in the middle of the day?" Louis said to his son.
"It’s still too early to wake up. What do you mean I woke up late?"
Louis could only shake his head, then they went to the kitchen and saw breakfast waiting on the table. Chicken cream soup with corn, toast, and fruit slices were ready on the table.
"Mmm, it smells so good~" Louis sat at the head of the dining table as the head of the family.
"Finally, you’re here. Breakfast is ready, let’s eat before it gets cold. Today, Arcane helped me make breakfast. It turns out he’s very good at cooking," said Megara happily, because no one had ever helped her cook before.
But now, it turned out that her son in-law was good at cooking, and that made her very happy.
"Arcane is indeed an expert cook. Every day, he’s the one who always cooks at home," said Julian, rubbing his eyes because he was still sleepy.
"Really? No wonder you look fatter than the last time I saw you. So it’s all because Arcane cooks for you?" His father turned to Julian, who was sitting next to him.
"But Julian has also been helping me cook lately. He can already cut ingredients and make tofu soup. Even though it looks messy," said Arcane, pulling out a chair next to Julian and sitting down.
His parents were very impressed when they heard this. A significant change had occurred in their son in the span of almost a year. They knew all of this was thanks to Arcane’s patient guidance.
However, Arcane said that while he had indeed guided Julian this far, Julian also had a strong determination to learn and took initiative to do things. That was what made him admire Julian as well.
"Without initiative and determination, he would have remained a spoiled child. But he is attentive enough to repay someone’s kindness," he explained.
Julian’s face flushed when he heard the compliment. He knew that he had undergone many changes over the past year, and he felt that it was all thanks to Arcane. Arcane himself felt that his life had also undergone many changes since Julian arrived.
Louis and Megara smiled, watching their son interact with his husband. They were happy that Julian had finally found someone who was perfect for him. Even they had fallen in love with Arcane, their new son in-law.
"Let’s start breakfast then. Waiting too long will make the soup cold," said Louis, who started breakfast for his family, which now had a new member.
That morning, they enjoyed breakfast together like a complete family. Julian was very happy because he could enjoy his meals again and chat with them while eating.
They also included Arcane in their conversation, making Arcane feel hebis part of them. He also feels like he was back in the past when he had a family to share meals with.
Although in the past he only had his mother and grandmother, now he has a family from his husband.
Megara added another scoope of soup to the Arcane bowl, saying that the man also had to eat a lot so he wouldn’t get hungry quickly. "You still look thin, come on, eat a lot."
"Okay, but not too much. I’m already a little full, Mrs. Thorne," he said.
The middle aged woman’s hand movement stopped when Arcane called her ’Mrs. Thorne’. She smiled as she put her hands on her hips, looking at him gently.
"Now that you are officially married to my son, that means you are my son in-law or my son too," she said, pausing for a moment.
"From now on, don’t call my husband Mr. Thorne or call me Mrs. Thorne. Call us Father and Mother."
