[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 92: Finding the Right Person
A week after their conversation about adopting a child, Arcane and Julian finally headed to the adoption center, which was quite far from where they currently lived.
Using his car, Arcane drove for almost 3 hours to get there.
Julian felt relieved because they got help from Donald, after Arcane told him about himself and Julian wanting to adopt a child.
"That’s a great idea. Don’t worry about the adoption costs, I’ll help you pay for it. Just call me, tell me how much you need and I’ll transfer the money to you," said Donald when he first heard Arcane’s story.
They were both very grateful for the help, although they still felt uncomfortable that someone else had to pay for the adoption they wanted to do. However, Donald said he didn’t mind because he supported his son’s decision.
As long as he could help pay for the operational costs of adopting their child, Donald didn’t mind. Moreover, in other words, he would become a ’grandfather’.
"I’m glad your father supports our decision. My parents also said that this is a good decision, everyone agrees with this!" said Julian happily.
"I know that. I’m glad everyone supports what we’re going to do. Especially helping to pay for the adoption fees," replied Arcane, nodding his head, focused on the road ahead.
"Do you think we should take a boy or a girl? And what age would you like?"
Julian was still unsure whether to choose a boy or a girl. He thought a boy would definitely be easier because he and Arcane were also boys. However, girls were also very cute and they were more obedient than boys.
"If you really want a girl, I don’t have a problem with that. Both girls and boys are gifts. But if you want to dress her up like a princess, it’s better to choose a girl," replied his husband.
Julian nodded in understanding. He did want to dress his child in something cute like a princess. When he was with Amanda alone, he was very happy to tie the little girl’s hair and even put a cute dress on her.
Finally, they agreed to choose a girl as their top choice for adoption this time.
After a long journey, they finally arrived at the adoption center, which turned out to be quite small. Getting out of the car, they were immediately greeted by a woman who worked at the adoption center.
"Welcome, you must be Mr. Romano and Mr. Thorne, right?" asked the woman.
Before they arrived, they had of course called the center so that they would be ready to show them the children available for adoption.
"That’s right. I’m Arcane Romano and this is my husband, Julian Thorne," replied Arcane, shaking her hand.
The woman introduced herself as Sandra Moza, the owner of the adoption center. Sandra then took them both into the adoption center to look at the documents they had brought with them before meeting the children they wanted to adopt.
"All the documents listed here are complete. You have been married for a year and have your own home," she said as she read the documents in her hand, then put them away for the adoption process later.
"I will ask someone to check your background first, including your records. This is a common practice at most adoption centers. So you don’t need to worry," Sandra said again.
"How long will the process take? Will it take a very long time before we can take the child home?" asked Julian.
"It usually takes two to three months. Because we have to check all the available data before handing over the children we have, to ensure they are in the right hands."
Once they understood the agreement and the rules, Arcane and Julian were taken to the adoption center to meet the children there.
Since they both agreed to adopt a child between the ages of 1 and 3, they were taken to the toddler room.
Upon entering the room, there were many toddlers sitting in their baby boxes, as if waiting for parents to take them home as their children. Some of them were busy drinking from their bottles, while others were playing with their toys.
But many of them noticed Julian and Arcane walking in with Sandra.
"The children here are those who were abandoned by their parents, or whose parents were unable to raise them and handed them over to this place," Sandra explained.
One by one, she introduced the children there, and they acknowledged that the children looked very sweet. Julian and Arcane occasionally discussed, every time they saw children they felt matched the criteria they hoped for.
When they arrived, they stopped at one of the little girls who was hugging a rabbit doll. The girl with violet hair turned to them with her innocent blue eyes.
"This girl’s name is Laluna. We usually call her Luna. She is very obedient and also a little shy. But don’t worry, she can adapt quickly if you show her that you care about her," he explained.
Julian approached the girl and held out his hand. He saw the sign on the baby box indicating that Luna was still two and a half years old. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Hi, your name is Luna?" Julian asked.
She looked at his hand, then slowly reached out and grasped it with her tiny hand.
"Yes, my name is Laluna," she replied softly because she was still shy. Added to that, she was still a toddler, so her speech was not yet very fluent.
"You look so cute. Who is this rabbit doll of yours? Does it have a name?"
The little girl then turned to the rabbit doll she was hugging, nodded her head, and replied that her rabbit doll was named Mr. Tabby.
"Oh, how cute," Julian replied, gently stroking her head.
Her face flushed slightly, looking comfortable as Julian stroked her head like that. Arcane watched their interaction and listened to Sandra’s next explanation. Luna didn’t usually smile easily at strangers.
"Her shy and somewhat fearful nature made some parents who wanted to adopt children not choose her. They thought she didn’t like them. Maybe because she feels they’re not the right people for her. But look at this... She’s smiling." She said this while smiling too.
Arcane nodded, feeling that the communication between Julian and Luna seemed smoother and more natural.
’It seems like he’s found what he was looking for.’
