Chapter 100: Ch 100: Lady Sera’s Son

"It seems like things have finally worked out. You are free to head back whenever you want to."

Reina looked at the Saintess sitting in front of her with a slight smile on her face. At her words, the saintess looked up, but her eyes remained cold like ice. Her regal posture and fancy clothes made her seem more like an upper-class noble rather than a saintess at the moment.

It had been almost one year since the saintess had been kidnapped by Lady Reina, and a lot had changed in that time.

First, Lady Sera and her family’s crime had been brought to light. As soon as it had been revealed that her father tried to use her to trick the crown prince, everyone had abandoned Count Diltz.

The high priest had been spared by Prince Kaiden, but his sudden death was seen as an omen by the gods and a warning for others not to trick the hero again.

As for Prince Kaiden, he had finally settled down with his companion. He was now the emperor, while his son, Prince Caelis, had been made the crown prince.

But his companion was not the empress, and it was because they had still not married or made any official statement about their relationship. But if the rumors were to be believed, then the poor companion was currently locked in the imperial palace with not a lot of freedom.

But even among all this gossip, there was one thing that no one dared to mention—Lady Sera’s son.

No one dared to utter anything about that baby, or even where he was. It was as if he had disappeared into thin air, and many believed that he had either died or was taken by another faction to try and cause a future upset.

Anyway, it was all hearsay, and frankly, it had nothing to do with Reina anymore. So she focused on the saintess in front of her.

"Ah, are you trying to kick me out, Lady Reina?"

The Saintess asked in a calm voice. She had gotten too used to Lady Reina’s teasing to fall for it like before.

"Tsk, you have gotten so boring to tease now. I still recall how fun it used to be to tease you when you first came here. You used to give me the best expressions."

Lady Reina complained without any heat behind her words.

After a year of living together, the pair had gotten to know each other well. That included what ticked the other off as well.

The Saintess was about to reply when she had a sudden feeling that something was up. Her head felt light, and she suddenly had a single thought flash across her mind.

[Get back to the main temple. There will be a new prophecy delivered soon. Make sure it gets to everyone.]

"Saintess Rosalyne, are you alright? You look pale, and you suddenly went silent. Did something happen?"

Reina asked, showing a hint of concern in her eyes for the first time.

The saintess felt a little faint, but she quickly picked herself up and shook her head.

"I think it’s about time I went back. I just got a holy revelation that a new divine prophecy is about to be delivered soon."

She told Reina with an unhappy look on her face.

Truth be told, she did not want to give up her fancy living conditions, her new clothes, or even the food she was eating. But she was a servant of the goddess ultimately, and she had to follow her will.

By the end of that day, the saintess left for the sanctuary where the oracles were usually received by the high priest and the saintess.

But since the high priest was dead, she was the only one left who could hear the goddess’s words.

"Prince Caelis... where are you...? Just where did he go? How is he so active?"

The maids tried to find the crown prince, but it was of no use. Not only was the crown prince developing faster than kids his age, but he also seemed unusually intelligent.

He often ran away from his room when people were not looking, but he was usually with his Companion Shuu when that happened.

So their first instinct was to look for Companion Shuu... who was a little too busy at the moment. And it was all because of Prince Kaiden.

It had been a year since Companion Shuu had come to the imperial castle and settled down here, but Prince Kaiden had refused to allow him out of sight.

Even now, they were usually found together, and being near them made things... a little more complicated and hard to look at.

So the servants usually avoided the pair as much as they could. They usually did not come to them unless they had a solid reason... like right now.

"W-We are sorry to disturb you, but Prince Caelis has disappeared...?"

"He’ll be fine. I am sure we don’t need to worry about him... Shuu, get back here. We are not done-"

Prince Kaiden reached for Shuu’s waist, only for him to pull back and stand up.

"Now is not the time for this. You might not be worried about Caelis, but I am. I will go and look for him with you."

Shuu told the caretakers, who looked equally relieved and terrified by his decision. Prince Kaiden’s glare told them all that this was their fault, and they would likely pay for it.

Hopefully, he would forget all about it because of Companion Shuu.

Speaking of the companion, he seemed to have a sixth sense when it came to the crown prince. Somehow, he seemed to know where to go in order to find the missing child.

This time was no different... except...

"Isn’t that... the abandoned section...?"

"I heard that it only has a handful of servants..."

"But why there...?"

The maids looked surprised, but Shuu kept moving forward until he found his son. But Caelis was not alone.

Sitting in front of him was a familiar-looking, fragile kid with silver-white hair and red eyes.

"Shuu, look-! Like you-! I found him-!"

Caelis exclaimed with a happy look on his face, and Shuu had a sudden realization about the kid in front of him.

’Lady Sera’s son...’
