"Alright. If you say that you want to handle things this way, then I won’t say anything. But if you ever feel like you want to take over, do tell me. And remember, there is nothing in this world that you cannot have as long as I am alive."

Prince Kaiden’s promise was heavy, and knowing his nature, Shuu had no doubt that he would actually try to keep it.

But he did not have much desire.

"I am fine. I like my current life as it is. But I do have a question. When are Prince Yunn and Princess Danielle going to get married?"

Kaiden paused and looked at Shuu. He knew that the right thing to do here would be to tell him why the two were not getting married at the moment.

But even if he wanted to, he had a feeling that he should not. He did not want to put a lot of pressure on Shuu.

"They both will marry when it is time for them to get married. You don’t have to worry about it. You should take your time and worry about more important things, like yourself."

Prince Kaiden wrapped his arms around Shuu like a puppy, and his eyes looked like a puppy’s as well. One look was enough to tell Shuu what he wanted.

"Fine, I will sleep in your room tonight. Is that fine?"

Shuu asked, and Prince Kaiden let out a small laugh.

"Of course it’s fine. It is more than fine. In fact, can I keep you there forever? I will keep you tied to my bed, and we can have a lovely time with each other..."

"No tying. But we can spend as much time together as you want to... as long as it does not get in the way of me taking care of the kids."

Shuu granted the prince what he wanted, and Prince Kaiden let out a smile.

"Hmm, it is not quite what I wanted, but I will take it. I am sure that Caelis will be so jealous..."

"Tsk, stop competing with a kid over me."

Shuu complained back, not noticing the person who witnessed this exchange.

But Prince Kaiden noticed Princess Danielle’s presence and shot her a look that told her to stay in her lane and not try anything funny.

The princess shook her fist in anger as she was turned away. She knew that there was nothing she could do. She also knew that she was overreacting. But she could not help it.

Not only was she losing her footing here, but the recent letter from her home country was also stressing her out.

Her father had heard about Emperor Kaiden’s lack of a wife. He knew about his companion, but since there was no official marriage, he saw this as a chance and had asked Danielle to interfere and try to get Emperor Kaiden to accept one of their people as his official wife.

Danielle knew Emperor Kaiden well, so she knew that it was a futile hope. He would never leave Shuu behind and choose anyone else.

And even if he somehow did that, it did not change the fact that the crown prince had already been born...

"Ah, what a mess. I am not getting married anytime soon because Shuu refuses to get married. And Yunn is too insistent on upholding traditions. Should I just... seduce him?"

She asked herself, but there was no reply to her words.

At this point, all she could do was head back to her room and try talking to Prince Yunn again. And if not, then she would just have to keep trying until she got what she wanted.

"Saintess, welcome back. We were worried when you disappeared for over a year. What happened to you?"

The other priests and priestesses asked Saintess Rosalyne as she entered the sanctuary. They looked surprised to see her, but it was short-lived.

"Did you all truly miss me? Or are you troubled now that I am back?"

The Saintess asked the priests as she looked around the sanctuary. It had been renovated and looked more like a hotel now. The money that had been poured into this place was clear for anyone to see.

"Hmm, it looks like you all took good care of this place while I was gone. I am thankful for it. But I would like to have the record book back now."

She told the priestesses, and they handed her the book with sad expressions on their faces.

Saintess Rosalyne knew their nature well, so she decided to take a thorough look through the record book as soon as she had the time.

But before she could head to her room, a priest bowed to her and spoke.

"Saintess Rosalyne, someone has come here to meet you. Devotee Elysia Conner says she has something to say to you regarding the divine message. She insists that she received one."

There was silence around the entrance at those words, and the Saintess rubbed her forehead.

She wanted to ignore it all, but she knew she could not.

"I see. Then I will go and meet the lady now."

She told everyone and was led to the chamber where a person wearing white was waiting for her. The lady had green hair and orange eyes, and she was beautiful.

But something about her made the Saintess feel uneasy. She felt... different from any other time they had met.

"Lady Elysia, it is nice to meet you again. I was told that you have a message for me." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

The Saintess asked, and the lady in front of her smiled widely.

"I do. I have a very important message for you from my god. He told me that he is about to be reborn in this world. But we need to eliminate any and all obstacles for that. And that includes that darn companion. I need your help with that."

Lady Elysia’s words did not escape the Saintess’s sharp ears and mind, and she immediately frowned.

"I am not sure what you mean by all this, but I think you need to see a doctor for your mental health. You are confusing our goddess for a god as well, and that is blasphemy. The sacred texts clearly indicate that our goddess does not want to be associated as a male, no matter what."
