Seoha’s POV

It’s not the first time.

It’s a...thing now, my boyfriend comes home with a box of snacks and some drinks, I never liked drinking alone, so I look forward to drinking with him.

I could have sworn I had stronger alcohol tolerance, but with Daeshin, it’s different.

After the first three times of blacking out and remembering nothing after one of our little indoor drinking dates, I started cutting down on my drinks, and somehow, even when I drink only one cup, I still end up hungover and face down in his room.

’Daeshin-ah’ I murmur as I wake up, this is the first time I’m completely naked, we shower together so getting naked in front of him is not new.

But for the life of me, I can’t remember why I’m naked on his bed.

’What? You passed out again baby, and I’m leaving for work’ he says and leans in to kiss me, his mouth molds mine tenderly and I love the way his tongue slips into my mouth.

We both moan but he breaks the kiss and grins at me, ’remember? Keeping your virginity till we’re married?’ he says and pulls back even when I can see how hard he is.

’We can just do it...all the omegas in my school are...’

’Why am I naked?’ I ask and he ruffles my hair, ’you’re so cute, go brush, your mouth tastes disgusting’ he says and walks away.

I sit on his bed in confusion.

I trust Daeshin and it happens many more times, I can’t remember how I ended up naked, but he’s always there to scent me and make me feel loved.

"Shin Seoha-ssi" Taesan’s voice calls and I blink back to the present

My hands are shaking uncontrollably and the alpha slides the picture back to himself, I want to snatch it from him but I can’t move.

My throat is starting to close up, my chest hurts, and my head is spinning. I trusted Daeshin with my life and this is what he was doing with me all along?

Was that why he kept me ’innocent’?

Taesan smacks the table and I am startled by the force that rattles the empty dishes on the table.

"Get yourself together, my daughter will be here in a minute" he commands and I force my mind to stop working, to only obey his order.

’Get yourself together’ my omega repeats the word and I place my trembling hands on my lap.

"I’m sorry" I whisper, I keep my head down but I see him putting away the documents, hiding them away in his briefcase like he doesn’t want to see them either.

He smells angry, his smoky scent is thicker and different from his rut, it smells like something strong enough to stop a person’s breathing.

"We will deal with this later" he growls through clenched teeth and before I can respond, the door opens and Sooin bursts in with a squeal.

"Daddy, you’re home!"

The genuine happiness on her face, the way her hair flies with her movements, and the way her eyes are sparkling at me makes the aching of betrayal melt away for a minute.

"Daddy!" she calls and runs to me, she hugs me and hides her face between my neck and my shoulder, "I was scared, you didn’t wake up, please don’t leave me" she says and starts to sob.

Taesan’s scent softens at her cries and he runs his fingers through his hair, muttering a curse word under his breath.

"Baby..." I whisper and press my nose into her hair, it smells like it hasn’t been washed today, her face has streaks of dried tears and I rub my hands up and down her back.

"I’m okay now" I say.

’Liar’ my omega whines and I dare to meet Taesan’s eyes, the red from his accusation and anger is no longer there but his eyes are still pinning me down, this time it’s not a threat...there’s something that looks like concern...for me?

I don’t want to delude myself, so I divert my eyes to look at the little girl crying in my arms.

"I missed you so much, nobody made me breakfast" she complains as she cries and pull her away to take in the look on her face.

"No one fed you? Are you hungry now? Hmm?" I ask and she nods, wiping her face with the sleeve of her sweater.

"Don’t cry, I’ll make something delicious for you" I promise her, "daddy, can you do like that time? I like it a lot" she says, referring to the simple egg breakfast I made for her before I ended up in the hospital.

"Yes, I’ll make that for you, you’ll eat a lot, right?" I ask and she returns to her smiles.

She hugs me again and press her nose into my neck, her snot coated nose doesn’t bother me as she rubs against me, I just let her.

"Princess, won’t you come to me?" Taesan finally speaks, interrupting us and Sooin goes to hug her father too, "dad, you brought daddy back" she says proudly and Taesan’s eyes flicker to me before he gives Sooin a response I don’t hear.

I need to move, I need to do something.

My body begins to move on autopilot as I clear the table and go into the kitchen to make the meal that Sooin likes.

Each noise I make fills the space where my internal screaming should be, and I like it that way, it’s how I’ve ever dealt with everything.

When the inside hurts, I find a way to get the outside busy so I can forget about it, and maybe...just maybe...if I put my hand on the fire.

I stretch my hand towards the dancing blue flames of the stove when Sooin suddenly hugs me from behind.

"Daddy, me, you and dad have to cuddle every night, so you will never go away from us" she says happily, moving with me as I finish up the cooking as if I didn’t think of hurting myself.

Her request is innocent but the effect it will have on me isn’t. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Sooinie, I think you should let Seoha finish up" Taesan says from behind us and Sooin lets me go with a pout.

"He’s not going anywhere, ever" Taesan says as his daughter goes to sit on his lap.

I look over my shoulder at him and really...I don’t think it matters anymore, if I ever leave here, what would I have?

Daeshin stole my skill, stole my body and stole my peace of mind.

My own family stole my inheritance and left me to the dust.

"Yay!" Sooin cheers, unaware of the heated gaze her father and I are exchanging.

He hates me more now, doesn’t he? I’m a thief and an ignorant omega who also has his nudes taken by another man.

My chest tightens with shame and I drop my eyes.

"We will deal with this later" his last word before Sooin’s arrival comes back to mind and I wonder, when a mafia captain says deal with this later...
