Black Card Debt: Daddy's Little Thief (Omegaverse bl)-Chapter 43: Unfair
Seoha’s POV
Junho pushes me into the car and starts the engine before I can protest or say anything.
I feel so lost and confused, even after hearing the conversation between Taesan and the woman, I am still as lost as ever.
His grandfather wants the kids killed to cut down population? It’s Sooin or the kids? Why is Taesan staying there if he already saved all the children?
"Wait" I say and pull on the handle of the locked door and Junho ignores me, he keeps driving with one hand on the gear and his other ring covered hand on the steering wheel.
"Wait...what about..." my sentence dies in my throat as one motorcycle zooms by us a and another follows, and then another, they are all going in the same direction we’re just leaving.
I watch the speeding motorcycles with my mouth open, catching a glimpse of armed, hefty men on ten roaring bikes.
"Junho..." I call the man’s name, "you didn’t see that" he growls and I turn my head to him, "what?" I whisper.
"You didn’t see them, you know nothing about them" he repeats.
"What do you mean I didn’t see them?! Those men are going to hurt Taesan-ssi!" I yell at him, my voice coming out thick and rough with emotions.
My omega is frantically pacing inside of me, worried for the alpha’s safety, but the instinctual worry of my omega doesn’t match the worry choking me up.
"I- I don’t understand" I stutter.
"Then don’t try to" Junho says softly, his words are so soft that I almost didn’t catch them over the noise of the running car, "Seoha-ssi, don’t try to understand anything for your own good, this- this world is far too messed up for someone like you" he says.
"Yet here I am, in the car of a- a mafia man, getting away to goddess knows where! And I’m stuck here!" I yell at him I’m losing my mind, and it’s not for me...it’s for him.
For Kang Taesan, the man I owe.
"Please, just- just turn the car around, please, let’s get him out of there" I press my palms together and plead, but my pleading falls on deaf ears.
Junho stays as still as a statue as he focuses on driving down the rough road with the vans behind us.
"Junho-ssi..." I call his name and he doesn’t respond, I see the way his jaw ticks and the way his grip on the wheels tighten.
"His daughter...his daughter-"
"His daughter will see him today, she will see him at home and everything will be fine" he states mechanically and I slump in the leather chair, giving up and giving into exhaustion, I have nothing to say.
There is nothing I can say.
"Will you at least explain to me?" I finally say and he sighs, "I can’t, there are things that are not my story to tell...and there are things I wish you wouldn’t ask to know" the beta says, looking at me briefly before turning his head away.
It can’t be helped, if this is the life I am stuck in, the least I can do is to know just what I’m in. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
He stops in front of the Mountain Atelier building and gets out first, and just before I move to open the door, he opens it for me and helps me out, holding my hand as I get down with shaky legs.
I’m terrified to the bones.
Junho gently assists me by holding me up while the other vehicles that were behind us come to a stop.
As soon as the doors are opened, the clueless children let out delightful squeals as they come out one by one.
While the children are happy, the older omegas are disturbed, speaking in hushed voices to each other as they guide the kids out, and I find Yuki talking with them.
"What’s going to happen now?" I ask Junho and he gives me an instant response, "they’re going to have an exciting tour around uncle Sannie’s building and eat whatever they want from Yuki’s father’s store" he says with a straight face.
Is there anything in this world that is even real?
These children’s home is being attacked for no reason while they are taken out to eat. It’s just like how my home was stolen from me and my relatives were smiling with me on a video call just a week before I found out.
Life is unfair.
I slap my hand over my mouth to keep my sobs in.
"Come on" Junho says, putting his hand over my shoulder and taking me into the building, once we get into the elevator, it feels like my body can’t take any of it anymore and I break into sobs.
I had seen the flash of raw pain in Taesan’s eyes, the raging anger in his voice, the-
"Seoha, breathe" Junho says as he holds me up, this is the elevator I ran into to avoid Daeshin, the same elevator I lost my virginity against the metal wall and under a surveillance camera.
My life is a mess.
"Stay with me" Junho’s voice breaks through the cloud pressing in on me as I cry, the pain is overwhelming me and it hurts too much, I just want everything to stop, I want Taesan here, I want Sooin to have her dad, I want to go home.
"Hey, Taesan will be okay" he says and he holds my face, "it’s not the first time he’ll do this" Junho tells me and the crease in his brows soothes me for a bit.
"I swear he’ll be fine, if there’s one thing Captain will do correctly, it’s winning for Sooin" he says and I blink the tears away.
"O-okay" I whisper, trying to calm my omega and the man leads me out of the elevator to Taesan’s office.
"He asked you to wait here, so just hold on, yeah? He’ll be back" he says, looking at me with pity as if he knows something I don’t.
He helps me into Taesan’s seat and at the scent of the alpha, my omega relaxes completely, clinging on to the faint scent of rain and mountain air like it’s everything.
’He’ll be back’ my omega says and after thirty minutes of soaking in his scent, the door is pushed open in a hurry and the bloodied alphas I have been waiting for stumbles in.
"Get out" he growls.
