Black Online-Chapter 117: Siege of the Snowberry
15th Floor, Snowberry Village, Rose Records Compound.
"..."
Della opened her eyes as she logged back in, and without further ado, she pulled out a chat window.
[Della: A guild war has started. Go on your guard posts, and make sure that no uninvited person gets into the village]
After sending the messages, the players who were awake in the game replied in shock, and after getting through the shock, they started heading to their designated guard posts.
Since they knew that it was inevitable that the guild war would one day come, they’ve been preparing for it for months.
’We knew that Grinding Grief and Monsieur Rascal were going to have their meeting, so we had doubled our guards.
’It’s good that we did that because there are already a decent amount of people awake.’
Della thought to herself.
She left her room and saw players running down the hallway, and they greeted her before sprinting off.
More and more players were constantly waking up after they received a phone call from Miranda.
"We’ll have a guild meeting in an hour, but before that, make sure that the village is secure and safe!"
Della shouted.
"Yes, guild master!"
Everyone shouted.
Tap... tap... tap...
At that moment, Waylen walked down the hallway with his hands inside his pockets, and he looked at her.
"They acted quicker than expected."
He said.
"...Our new recruits died."
Della said with a cold expression.
"Hmm..."
Waylen walked to the window, put his arms behind his back, and looked at the players of Rose Records running towards the village.
"They sent us a message a day ago that they would arrive here tonight, and somehow, Grinding Grief and Monsieur Rascal found out.
"There is a rat among us."
He said with a serious look.
"...Indeed."
Della said with a dark look.
...
An hour passed, and the Rose Records had secured the Snowberry Village, and they didn’t find anyone that shouldn’t be here.
Some players stayed behind to guard the gates of the Snowberry Village while the rest headed to the mansion for the meeting.
"..."
Della stood at the end of the table and watched as players kept pouring inside the room, and there were soon close to sixty players gathered.
"...Yawn..."
"...This stupid war... I was having a date with my girlfriend, but then I got the call from Miranda and had to come here... Shit..."
"...Hah, I was in the middle of sex... It was pretty awkward to end that to come here, so I am pretty sure I will be single soon!"
The players chatted.
In that moment, Miranda entered the meeting room and walked over to Della, who looked at her with an "Is that everyone?" gaze.
"Pretty much... I didn’t have Fang Raon’s phone number, so he is missing, but everyone else is here."
Miranda said.
"...He is a team leader, so he should be here... But he should wake up tomorrow morning, and we’ll get him updated then."
Della said.
Miranda nodded.
She then looked around the room and saw that everyone she could remember was here.
Members of the first line... second line... third line... and also the fourth line was all here.
The players quieted down as they could notice that the meeting was about to begin, and it turned so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
"About 70 minutes ago, our new recruits arrived on the 15th floor, but while they were en route here, they were ambushed by Grinding Grief.
"They died, but fortunately, they contacted us about it, and we immediately called you all to log into the game."
Della said.
Machary looked shocked.
There were a couple of friends of his in that new recruit batch, and he was devastated to hear the news.
’If I had decided to climb the tower with them instead, they would still be alive, right? That sucks...’
Machary gritted his teeth.
"It was a declaration of war, and as it looks like, we are going against both Grinding Grief and Monsieur Rascal.
"However.
"Their alliance is definitely only temporary and very fragile. It isn’t going to last long, and they might not even last till they’ve gotten rid of us."
Della said.
"...What should we do?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"...We can’t handle two guilds at the same time. They are both very strong guilds!"
"...Rose Records is the 66th-ranked guild, Grinding Grief is 61st-ranked, and Monsieur Rascal is 72nd. It will be really hard..."
The players whispered in worry.
There were Global Guild Rankings, where every guild was ranked, and there were close to thousand different guilds in the tower.
It was a really good achievement to reach the top 100, and now, this was a three-way guild war between three top 100 guilds.
It would definitely catch attention from the entire tower, as it was rare for a guild war of such size to happen.
However, for starters, Rose Records was going to go 1v2 against them, and nobody would bet on their victory!
"That’s enough..."
Della said.
However, at that moment, everyone received a message on the guild chat window, and they all opened it.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
[Rucked: Grinding Grief and Monsieur Rascal are outside Snowberry Village. They’ve come, and there are a lot of them!]
"They’re actually attacking Snowberry Village? This is Safe Zone village. That is insanity!"
"God damn it, we aren’t ready for that!"
"SILENCE!"
A booming voice echoed throughout the room, silencing everyone, and the players turned to look at the person who shouted.
Rock stood tall and imposing with an angry look on his face.
He hated his night getting ruined, and he even had to stop what he was doing and log back into the game.
It was because he was one of the strongest members of Rose Records, so obviously he was going to help them with the guild war.
"They’re not going to attack. They’re not fools."
Della said.
The players turned back to look at him and then wondered what they were doing outside the village if they were not going to attack.
"A siege. They’re going to besiege the village. It is a completely normal thing to do during the Guild War.
"They want to isolate Snowberry Village from the rest of the floor, and they don’t want us to leave."
Della said.
"...What if we use Tower Pearls?"
A player asked.
"I have a hunch that Tower Pearls won’t work. It’s far too obvious a thing to use, and I don’t think they had forgotten about those."
Rock said.
With Tower Pearls, it was possible to travel across different floors—to those floors that a person had visited before.
