Black Online-Chapter 118: Disasterous Home

Outside the Snowberry Village’s gates.

A small army of players were gathered, and they were putting up some lodges of wood that would serve as temporary shelters.

The lodges had a fireplace, a bedroom, and even a small kitchen.

Derrick looked at the small object in his hand, and when he threw it on the ground, a wooden lodge rose up.

It was a popular item in the tower, often used by adventurers when they needed a place to rest for the night.

That’s why they were confident with sieging because of these portable shelters that they could easily put up but also take down.

Without these shelters, sieging would be much harder because of the freezing cold nights.

"Huff... I hate this freezing piece of shit floor."

Victor rubbed his hands together as he approached Derrick.

"Why don’t you move a floor then? The 16th floor is apparently very warm and cozy."

Derrick said sarcastically.

"Hmph... You know as much as I do why this floor is very valuable and why Snowberry Village has more value than just it being Safe Zone..."

Victor said.

"Hmph."

Derrick humphed.

He knew it very well.

Within the territory of Snowberry Village, there were some mines that had winter ores that were very valuable.

Rose Records had a complete monopoly over them, and they didn’t want to share it with anyone else.

It was where they earned their wealth, after all.

At that moment, a player ran over to them and saluted.

Derrick and Victor went to look and saw a small satellite-like object standing on top of a small snow pile.

Derrick asked.

Victor said with a cold smile.

"...The meeting must be cut short because of the arrival of uninvited guests, but I have an assignment for every line.

"The first line—join the guards at the gate of the village as reinforcements.

"The second line—patrol around the forests so that nobody sneaks in. One of the mages that specialize in detection magic can join you.

"The third line—you’re protecting the village in case anybody manages to sneak in. Be watchful for possible assassins...

"And the fourth line—inform the locals of the village about what is going on, and tell them to stay indoors."

Della said.

Everyone shouted, "Yes, guild master," and joined their designated lines and started heading off.

"Guild master, our team leader doesn’t seem to be online just yet. Will we wait for him or go straight away?"

Niall asked.

"Machary will be your temporary team leader. Fang Raon will take on the role once he arrives. You can go now."

Della said.

"Yes, guild master!"

Niall said.

With a stunned look, Machary looked at the guild master and then saw every Fourth-Liner looking at him for answers.

Since he was now the temporary leader, he had to lead them, and honestly, he was extremely nervous.

This was Guild War.

It wasn’t like a raid or some training exercise.

This was a real deal, and if he made a single mistake while as team leader, his team could die because of him.

’I am actually hoping that Fang Raon comes online soon... I am so pathetic... I’ve wanted to be the team leader so badly, and now when I finally have a chance to show what I am made of, I am afraid?

’I hadn’t realized just how reliable Fang Raon is as a team leader, and I would honestly feel more at ease if he was here...’

Machary gritted his teeth, shook his head, and even gave himself a slap to the cheek so he would focus on the task in hand.

"Alright, let’s go. There are a lot of places that we have to visit at the village, and the locals must be quite afraid, so let’s not waste any time!"

He shouted and stormed out of the room with the fourth line following right behind him.

"Yes, team leader!"

With a key, Fang Raon opened the door to his apartment and pushed his boxed Virtual Reality Pod into the apartment.

"..."

Chaewon stood outside the apartment and looked around the dirty hallways with a frown and saw some scary individuals lingering around.

They also caught sight of her and winked at her suggestively, as it wasn’t every day that they got to see such a beautiful lady in these lower floors.

"Ugh..."

Chaewon felt a shiver run down her back, and she entered the apartment and closed the door behind her.

She wanted to go with Fang Raon to help him move back to his apartment, and she also wanted to see where he lived.

It was as bad as she expected.

She looked around the apartment that was quite dirty with clothes strewn about the floor and smelled of mold and unwashed dishes piled in the sink.

Of course, Fang Raon tried to clean as well as he could, but because he was blind, he couldn’t do it that well.

The dirty walls and floors were here before he even moved in, and there was nothing he could do about those.

"This place... is nice."

Chaewon smiled.

She didn’t want to hurt his feelings by being overly honest.

"It’s really not, haha. This place is a dumpster, and I hate it here, but I appreciate you trying to not hurt my feelings."

Fang Raon laughed and rolled the Virtual Reality Pod to the corner of the room and started washing off the dirty dishes.

’Since I am now moving out of the Caretaker Facility, I can’t log into the game today, but I don’t think it should matter.

’I’ll just have to skip today’s training. Not a big deal.’

He thought to himself.

Chaewon helped a little bit by picking up his clothes and tossing them into the laundry basket.

"You don’t really have to help me to clean up. I already appreciate you walking me here, but I can take care of the rest myself."

Fang Raon said.

"But I want to help."

Chaewon said with a smile.

"Ah... Ok..."

Fang Raon smiled and turned back to the dishes.
