Black Online-Chapter 43: Fang Raon’s Speech
Clap!
"Alright, listen up!"
Fang Raon clapped his hands loudly.
It garnered the attention of Red Team’s players, but they were only paying half attention, and the other half was focused on the match.
They were all thinking about ways to impress Rose Records, and honestly, they didn’t care about victory itself but only about their individual success.
"..."
Fang Raon noticed that.
"We are going to lose!"
He said with a smile on his face.
"...Huh?"
"...What the hell are you talking about?"
They looked at him with confusion, and they thought that Fang Raon had already given up without noticing that they themselves had also given up.
"Yes, we will lose, because all of you are already expecting to lose."
Fang Raon said coldly.
It silenced the players.
"...You think Rose Records wants losers? They want winners. The first stage to victory is to believe that you can.
"Lie to yourself if need be."
Fang Raon said.
"I don’t want to listen to you preach. What do you even know about, huh? Have you ever even led a party, huh?
"Well, I have, and I can’t understand why you were chosen as Team Leader and I wasn’t!"
Nathan shouted.
Some of the Red Team players nodded, as they would follow Nathan’s lead, as he had already shown how capable he was, while Fang Raon just came out of nowhere and started bossing them around!
"...You really are a fool, huh?"
Fang Raon said.
"What did you say?"
Nathan asked angrily.
"This is your test, you moron. Rose Records wants to see how you behave in a situation like this.
"Do you think they want insubordinate fools like you? No, they want players that will listen to orders no matter who gives them!
"If you refuse to listen to orders in a dangerous situation, the entire party will be in danger because of you!"
Fang Raon roared angrily.
"...Ngh."
Nathan flinched and remained silent.
The gaze from the camera felt like someone was staring a hole into him, and he was feeling very embarrassed.
While he refused to admit it, Fang Raon was right, and he knew it.
He didn’t take this training exercise seriously, and he believed that in a real situation, he would, of course, listen to orders.
However, Rose Records wouldn’t want to take a risk with someone who already shown to be insubordinate!
"...I am sorry."
Nathan bowed his head in shame.
"We haven’t lost yet, haha!"
Fang Raon laughed, and for the first time, everyone was paying attention at him, and it wasn’t with half-measure either.
A hook, line, and sinker.
Fang Raon’s words "scared" them, which was his intention, and he got them right where he wanted.
"If we lose today, Rose Records will most likely kick all of you out, and you need to find a new guild to go to.
"However, every guild would want to know why Rose Records kicked you out, and they would come across the video of this training exercise.
"Do you think they want losers? Insubordinate fools? No!
"Therefore... it will be very important to show your value right here, and especially, show that you are a team member!"
Fang Raon shouted.
"Yes, Team Leader!"
They shouted.
"...The match hasn’t started yet, so why don’t you tell me your classes and skills so we can create a plan?"
Fang Raon sat down on the rock and asked.
"I haven’t introduced myself yet, but I am Nathan, and I am Ranger. My skills include the basic skills, Quickshot, and Keen Sense. I also have Fire Arrow and Ice Arrow skills."
Nathan said.
"...I am Alexia, and I am also Ranger. I have Quickshot, Keen Sense, and Speed Hunter skills."
Alexia said.
"...Speed Hunter, what’s that?"
Fang Raon asked.
"It helps me to run really quick."
Alexia said.
She gave the extremely simplified version of the skill, but it was really only that, a skill that made her fast.
"I am Markus, and I am Helper. I have Heal, Shield, and Slow skills. I plan on becoming the best support player in the game!"
Markus said energetically.
"Warrior~ My name’s Lucy. Nice to meet’cha all!"
Lucy energetically said, and surprisingly, she was Warrior, even though she really didn’t look like it, as she was a slender young woman.
"I got Basic Slash, Basic Parry, and I got Tier IV skill, Rain Drop. It cost me pretty much all money I earned from newbie floors, teehee!"
Lucy said with a smile.
’Tier IV skill? It must be powerful as I don’t even have Tier III skill yet!’
Fang Raon thought.
"Yo, name’s Justin... I am Mage, and I got the Fireball, Earth Wall, Water Cannon, Magic Missile, and Slippery Floor skills."
A long-armed young man said. He had long hair that went over his ears and ran down his back even.
"Trevor, and I am Tank. I got Intimidation, Tank’s Taunt, and Mountain skills. Nice to meet you, Team Leader."
The last man, Trevor, who was easily the oldest person around and looked to be nearing his thirties, said.
"Anyone know the Blue Team’s classes, perhaps?"
Fang Raon asked.
In that moment, Nathan raised his arm high, like a student waiting for his turn to answer, and Fang Raon pointed at him and said, "Yes?"
"I know Machary is Warrior, Tauro is Tank, Adrian is Helper, Kira is Mage, Debra is Ranger, Billie is Warrior, and Abdul is Assassin!"
Nathan said.
"They have all classes as part of their team. That is interesting. It means they have to have a pretty straightforward plan since they are more balanced than us.
"We have a slight edge when it comes to long-range attacks, and we are slightly at a disadvantage in close range.
"I think we just need to reach summit first, and fortify that position, and try to hold on."
Fang Raon said.
"Should Alexia and I fire at the enemy when we are at the top? It would help us to chase them away unless they want to get shot."
Nathan asked.
"...No, you don’t have an unlimited amount of arrows. I don’t think they will care if they die as long as they deplete your arrows first."
Fang Raon said.
"...Ah."
Nathan turned silent, rubbed his chin, and thought that it made a lot of sense. He had to remember the weakness of Rangers.
