Chapter 47: As One

"System interface!"

Fang Raon waved his hand, and the holographic window appeared in front of him.

Next to the player stats, there was a new [+] button for assigning the points, and Fang Raon tapped it with his index finger.

’100 points... Stamina, Attack, Defense, Speed, Vitality, and Mana.’

Fang Raon cracked his knuckles.

For now, he ignored the "Mana" stat altogether, as he was part of the Warrior Pathway, and thus, it seemed like a useless stat for now.

However, he didn’t know whether he would have skills in the future that needed Mana, but for now, he didn’t need it, so he ignored it.

"Stamina... If I add stats to that, won’t running a lap around the beach become ridiculously easy?

"It is definitely a valuable stat for endurance, as every time I fight, I feel exhausted quite quickly."

Fang Raon rubbed his chin, pressed the [+] button, and added points to the "Stamina" stat, and then pressed accept.

[Stamina: 8 → 32]

"...Ah, this is much better."

Fang Raon smiled, then he turned his attention to Attack and pressed the [+] button and added points to the "Attack" stat.

[Attack: 9 → 28]

He was satisfied with that, and he then turned to "Defense" and added a little bit to that as well.

[Defense: 5 → 15]

"...And now Speed. I know Machary must’ve put quite a lot there as well, as he was really quick. I couldn’t compete with him at all with speed."

Fang Raon thought aloud.

He was adding the stats in a way that could give him the best theoretical chance against Machary.

He tapped the [+] and put some on Speed.

[Speed: 6 → 20]

"That should be good, and for the remaining 33 stat points, I’ll throw the rest to Vitality for good measure."

Fang Raon said.

[Vitality: 8 → 41]

"That’s more like it, and 460 health is pretty crazy. I feel rejuvenated, like I could run around the entire beach without getting tired!"

Fang Raon stood up, flexed his arms, and let out a triumphant yell.

In that moment, he saw the battle turning crazy over in the mountain, and his gaze turned serious like that of a lion.

"I guess I should go..."

...

Near the top of the King of the Hill mountain.

"...Shit, I am out of arrows!"

Nathan shouted.

He was hiding behind Justin’s Earth wall, and his health bar was a sorry sight to see. He only had four HP remaining.

"Alexia... Can I borrow some arrows from you?"

He begged.

"Haaah? Hell no. I don’t have that many to begin with. It is your fault for wasting your arrows without hitting anyone!"

Alexia shouted.

"I am out of mana. I need to rest to replenish some of my mana, unless you guys happen to have Mana Recovery potions with you?"

Justin asked.

"..."

Markus, the Helper, had one Mana Recovery Potion with him, but he wasn’t going to share it with anyone.

He was going to use it by himself once his mana had run out!

They were trapped in the stone stairs, and they were trying to reach the summit, but they were blocked at every step of the way.

Blue Team wasn’t pushing them, as they didn’t need to, as they were very close to victory, and all they had to do was stay at the top.

"It looks like it is a free victory for us!"

Debra said with a smile and fired some arrows at the Red Team, and even though she didn’t really hit anyone, she was happy to just keep them on their toes.

"I am happy that I joined this team. With Machary here, there is no way we will lose to anyone!"

Adrian said with a smile on his face.

"..."

With a smile on his face, Machary was just sitting on a rock and was resting his sword against his shoulder.

He didn’t need to do anything, as his team had it all under control.

In that moment.

A hand rose from the edge of the mountain, grabbed the edge, and pulled up a familiar-looking figure.

"...It’s you!"

Billie just scoffed and pointed her sword at him.

"You’ve already lost, so why the hell have you come here, hmm?"

Blue Team looked over and just scoffed and rolled their eyes. They didn’t think he could do anything that could change the outcome.

"...I am back."

Fang Raon said with a smile.

He was sweating slightly, and honestly, he was clearly a horrible climber, as he almost fell down multiple times.

He started to regret trying to act "cool" and climb the mountain, but in the end, he made it to the top, somehow.

’Luckily this mountain is not that tall...’

Fang Raon wryly smiled.

"...A last-ditch effort? Cute, but you have lost, and it is also Team Leader’s responsibility to minimize the losses.

"Your team has been basically butting heads with a wall trying to come to the top. I honestly don’t understand what your plan is."

Machary said.

"I am here to have a rematch... With you."

Fang Raon pointed his sword at Machary, and Blue Team roared into laughter as they thought he came here to make a mockery out of himself.

The camera was looking straight at them.

He had already made himself look like a fool to the entire Rose Records and a couple hundred viewers, and now he came back just for an extra plate of humiliation.

"Alright... Everyone, stand aside."

Machary reluctantly stood up and yawned lazily.

He took a sword stance, but it looked lazy and uninterested.

They already had a fight, and it ended with his dominating victory, so he doubted the outcome would be any different.

’Too easy.’

Fang Raon thought, smiled, and sprang forward like a coil.

The shield and sword moved as one.
