Black Online-Chapter 49: Round 3
[VoidGamer: OMG! Fang Raon turned the tables!]
[Spynx: It still doesn’t matter. Blue Team will win once they’ve regrouped and created another plan]
[LewPy: What the hell happened to Machary, though? How come he beat Fang Raon at their first fight, but now he struggled so much???]
Miranda lowered her binoculars.
She realized that both Machary’s and Fang Raon’s strength wasn’t in level 1 anymore.
’...Machary had the advantage of a level in their first fight, which is why he won so easily, and after losing... That’s why Fang Raon was swinging that sword of his!
’He was trying to master his skills to level up!’
Miranda’s heart started beating.
She hadn’t realized that Machary had leveled up, which was her mistake, as during the recruitment, he was still in level 1.
It seemed that he leveled up in secret.
If she knew, she would’ve delayed the training exercise till everyone else was level 2 as well.
’If only Fang Raon was level 2 from the beginning, it could’ve been a very competitive match, but it is over.
’I am impressed that Fang Raon managed to fight Machary and even win some ground, but in the end, they cannot hold the King of the Hill.’
...
Crack! Crack!
Machary stomped over all the twigs in his way and met with the rest of the Blue Team at the forest.
"That Fang Raon guy is so shameless. I would hate being in a team with that kind of Team Leader."
Tauro said angrily.
"It’s not sportsmanlike at all!"
Debra cried out.
"...He is acting out of desperation. He had to rely on cheap tricks because we are strong, and he can’t win fair."
Machary said angrily.
"What will we do now, Team Leader?"
Adrian asked.
"...Fang Raon is obsessed with me, so he will just worry about my whereabouts and ignore the rest. We will attack straight from the front.
"Meanwhile, Abdul will climb the mountain and attack them in the back. It doesn’t matter even if you don’t kill anyone.
"It will create mayhem, and we will be able to use the chaos to our advantage to kill them."
Machary said.
They nodded and shouted, "Let’s go kill them," and started making their way to the mountain.
With sword in hand, Machary followed right behind them, but then, in the corner of his eye, he saw something.
Walking down the forest, there was a familiar silhouette. It looked like Fang Raon, walking towards their side of the beach.
’Fang Raon? Why is he here? Is he going to attack our flag? Did I miss a rule that sabotaging the enemy team’s flag is allowed?’
Machary panicked, didn’t tell anything to his team, and chased after Flag Raon’s silhouette. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
His team didn’t notice that he ran off as they were just making their way to the King of the Hill mountain.
"Wait!"
Machary shouted after Fang Raon, who stopped walking and turned around to look at him with a smile on his face.
"...I will not let you do whatever you’re planning. I am your opponent, and nobody can save you from me!"
Machary shouted and took his sword-fighting stance.
[Duelist Instinct Activated!]
"Except I am not really planning anything. I just wanted to continue our fight."
Fang Raon said with a smile and brought out his Steel Shield and Refined Sword.
[Duelist Instinct Activated!]
The camera flew from the mountain over to them.
This fight was something that the viewers wanted to see, and Miranda knew that, so she manually zoomed in on the action.
"Driving Sword!"
Machary made the first move!
The silvery blade pierced through the air like a lance.
"Basic Parry!"
Fang Raon pushed the blade aside with his shield and thrust his sword forward. It came for Machary’s head.
Machary turned to the side. The blade grazed his cheek, drawing a small line of blood.
[-3 HP]
[Machary: 407 HP]
Fang Raon lunged forward hard and aggressively.
The sword and shield clashed with Machary’s lightning-quick sword, and they dueled ferociously.
With the sword and shield, Fang Raon had a perfect balance of defense and attack. It worked wonderfully, but he lacked in speed.
Machary was more offensive-oriented, and while he couldn’t penetrate the Steel Shield, his speed was enough to avoid Fang Raon’s attacks.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Machary pressed forward aggressively. He tried separating Fang Raon’s head from the rest of his body. His sword swings were reckless.
Yet, the shield and sword combo wasn’t broken today, and Fang Raon kept his ground.
The dust rose around their feet as they shifted and circled, the ground recording the restless arc of their struggle.
Fang Raon made the next move, using every skill in his arsenal, and struck with force!
He kept pressing on, pushing Machary deeper into the forest, and he struggled to keep up with Fang Raon’s relentless attack.
"Huff... Huff... Huff..."
His arms ached as if there were some weights tied to them, and his sword’s durability wasn’t liking the fight at all.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
"Driving Sword!"
In that moment, Machary’s sword pierced past Fang Raon’s defenses and stabbed a hole into his waist.
It was the first grave injury of the match.
"Hard Slash!"
Fang Raon’s sword came down quick and ran across Machary’s leather armor, leaving a deep gash on his chest.
The blood gushed.
[Machary: 275 HP]
[Fang Raon: 315 HP]
"Argh!"
"Ahhhhhh!"
Fang Raon’s shield and Machary’s sword clashed.
They started exchanging blows furiously.
At first, Machary pressed forward with his aggressive and quick sword strikes, but after he couldn’t get through Fang Raon’s shield, he gave up.
It was just extremely exhausting to keep pushing, and he wanted to catch his breath.
However.
As soon as he gave up, Fang Raon attacked with all his might and forced Machary to defend himself with all he had.
It was constant back-and-forth fighting, and neither of them really landed an attack, except for the fact that they kept exhausting each other.
"Huff... Haah... Wheeze..."
They both breathed heavily, and their sword swings had turned sluggish and slow.
It was almost like it took all of their strength to even keep holding their swords, and they were both on the brink of collapsing.
’T... This is fine... Completely fine...’
Fang Raon wheezed.
It wasn’t his intention to defeat Machary.
All he wanted to do was keep him busy while his team—the Red Team—defended the mountain.
At the red team’s flagpole, the red flag was slowly climbing up the flagpole, but it was still a ways off.
[Red Team: 20%]
