Blessed by Night-Chapter 468: Knock, Knock Motherf*cker
Joanne was standing on the bridge, her finger pressing against one of the many console buttons.
An expectant look formed on her face as she tried to input a series of commands.
Unfortunately, the ship’s computer had other ideas at the moment.
Unable to customize vessel to directed specifications. Significant materials required.
Joanne huffed.
The ship said that it needed materials to complete the additions she requested. After a moment, Jo figured she might’ve known where to get them.
"...Can you head to these coordinates?"
After punching in the requisite numbers, Joanne smiled at the green lights that appeared on the screen.
"We going somewhere?"
Joanne looked back at the bay doors that were sliding open to reveal Bianca and Malachi.
As soon as she saw her husband, a bit of relief appeared on her face.
He didn’t appear to have done anything regrettable when he left the house earlier. But then again, she had always had faith in him.
"Doing a bit of expanding..."
"Geez, more? In a moment, it’s going to be like we’re flying around in the Shield Helicarrier."
"...You’re so cute when you say things I don’t understand."
"All I heard was that I was cute and that is more than enough for me."
Bianca kissed Joanne on the cheek and gave her butt a promising squeeze.
Joanne’s ears were scarlet red. She ignored her baser urges and turned to face her husband.
"I have a meeting with Opal and the brass in an hour... Feel up for coming with me?"
Malachi smiled earnestly as he pulled Joanne into his arms.
"As if I could let you deal with this whole mess on your own. I know how much you hate this kinda stuff."
Joanne sighed as she leaned into him. "Yes, I hate it so much that I voluntarily decided to do this again because... why?" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"After a while lying around the house with no job, you started to feel like you were going crazy?"
Joanne waved her hand dismissively before bringing it to her chin. "No, no, that can’t be it, I got to take naps whenever I wanted, and I was having so much sex I didn’t bother buying new clothes for ten months."
One of them accounted for a good 25% of that statistic.
"Obviously, you came back because you like helping people." Bianca caressed her cheek. "You like to pretend to be stiff and indifferent, but mi amor has a heart made of gold."
Joanne blinked slowly.
"....I got it." Joanne slammed her fist into her palm. "It was because Shiro asked me if she could stay home all the time and do nothing like I did. The way she asked.... I swear it was like she was calling me a bum."
Malachi could honestly say that he had no idea if Joanne was joking or not. She was notoriously prideful, and Shiro was a notorious asshole. Even if she was his baby.
"You’re not funny." Bianca rolled her eyes and pulled her hands away from Joanne, making the older woman drop the charade.
"I’m only playing a bit. Don’t be mad. I appreciate the compliment, my dear." Joanne kissed her cheek, hoping to smooth things over.
Bianca remained aloof with her arms folded and her gaze avoidant.
"Yeah, yeah... the two of you should run off and go get ready for your meeting or whatever."
Joanne checked the console once before she bit her lip.
"...We have some time to kill. It won’t take me that long to get dressed."
With Sabine’s magic still running through her veins, Joanne was practically crawling out of her skin.
She had changed her underwear four times today already. If she didn’t get some kind of relief soon, she was going to physically rip her vagina off her body.
But Malachi was going to spoil her plans in a way that she never would have anticipated.
"Let’s wait for tonight, yeah? I have a feeling you’re going to need to unwind after we get back and I want to do something special for you."
Joanne looked crestfallen.
By all accounts, Malachi was being considerate and trying to plan to make the night nice so that they could conceive their child.
Jo didn’t hear that. She heard Malachi say she was ugly, washed up, past her prime, unattractive, musty, saggy...Why did she have to wait until they got back??! Why couldn’t she get some before and after like normal?!
"O-Oh... okay...I get it... You’re tired of me."
Mal was already hearing alarm bells. "B-Babe, don’t start! I was just.."
Suddenly, Malachi felt his entire body tense up.
"GET DOWN!"
Malachi grabbed both girls and tackled them to the floor.
No sooner than they hit the ground was their entire ship struck by a calamitous force.
The bridge was suddenly filled with red lights.
Malachi’s ears were suddenly filled with any number of warnings that he didn’t need to hear right now.
He could already tell they were falling out of the sky.
Briefly, he touched both of his women on their faces. "Are you both alright?"
"Yeah, fine!" Bianca winced. "What the hell hit us!?"
Malachi didn’t know, and he didn’t care.
When he got his hands on them, he was going to tear them apart.

The figure in the sky watched the ship’s camouflage struggle to remain active as it barreled toward the ocean below.
The figure in the sky was quite surprised she had been able to destabilize the ship so easily. It was her expectation that the defensive measures of the ship to be active.
Maybe it’s capabilities were diminished because it was a carrier vessel instead of a warship?
She knew not the answer.
The only thing she was absolutely certain of was that the person she was searching for was inside. After the ship hit the ocean, she would bust inside the vessel and search for her.
That was the plan, but things took a rather unexpected turn.
The woman looked up as the sky over the ocean turned dark and stormy.
She smelled no magic in the air. Nor did she hear the activation of weather machines.
This must have been a part of those ’natural gifts’ those aliens had.
She had seen such things before and she wasn’t impressed.
Her expression didn’t change until an arc of unnaturally colored lightning barely passed her face.
What she smelled from it was not alien, it was infernal. The woman knew not whether to believe her senses or not.
She was even more surprised when the ocean suddenly seemed to come alive.
Large, womanly hands made of crashing white waves rose from the sea.
They caught the ship when it was only a hundred meters above sea level, and held the broken pieces in place.
She believed her senses were deceiving her again. The power felt divine.
Roars suddenly filled the woman’s ears.
She tilted her body out of place as a large shadowy animal lunged at her from within the sky.
With a wave of her hand, the woman created a powerful shockwave that made it impossible for the constructs to maintain their forms.
But she now had bigger problems.
Four different holes were punched in the hull of the ship.
Through each one, a different entity came out, each more threatening than the last.
To her surprise, they were not N’kai, but an entirely different breed of ’visitors’.
The woman swallowed and rolled her muscles.
Maybe the vessel did have adequate defensive measures after all...
