Booking Glory-Chapter 90: Evelyn VS Selena - Part 2

With an evil glint in her eyes, Evelyn turned and looked at Selena who was just getting up after receiving Evelyn’s beatings. Evelyn smirked evilly as the commentary team played up the fact that there was no disqualification in a Falls Count Anywhere match and it was perfectly legal to use any weapons.

The moment Selena turned around, Evelyn clocked her midsection hard causing Selena to bend over in pain. Evelyn then proceeded to smash the kendo stick across Selena’s back while she was bent over.

The crowd booed Evelyn as she smashed the kendo stick across Selena’s back a few times. The camera zoomed in on Selena’s back and captured the welts running across her back. The commentary team put the beating over with their usual gusto in the background.

Despite beating up Selena with a kendo stick a few times, Evelyn wasn’t done with her yet. Selena escaped from her and rolled into the ring, causing Evelyn to methodically stalk after her with a kendo stick in her hands.

Once inside the ring, Evelyn used the kendo stick on Selena again. The sound that echoed across the arena made many wince, as they couldn’t imagine Selena taking those brutal shots without writhing in pain. Evelyn’s sadistic side was clearly established in the match as she tormented Selena with the kendo stick.

Things didn’t improve for Selena after that. She tried to fight back a bit, but Evelyn always used the kendo stick to put her down time after time, making the audience feel sympathy for Selena.

While the audience was sympathetic to Selena, their anger towards Evelyn didn’t reach its peak till Evelyn did something they haven’t seen before. At one particular moment during the match, Evelyn put Selena in a submission maneuver that really made the audience hate her from the bottom of their hearts.

Evelyn modified a rear naked chokehold by using the kendo stick in place of her hand and wrenching Selena with the added leverage. Selena’s face turned red as she struggled to get some air back in her body. It was really sickening to watch for the audience.

Until that moment, they have never seen a kendo stick being used in such a manner during a match. While Selena was never in any true danger as she had a hand between the stick and her neck, to the audience who watched it, it seemed as if Evelyn was really trying to murder Selena inside the ring.

To Rob, this kind of move was a common thing to be used with the kendo stick. But, in this world, no one has used a kendo stick like this until this moment. The visual was brutal and the commentary team played a perfect supporting role by repeatedly exclaiming how Evelyn was going to murder Selena in the ring.

Thus, when Selena somehow got out of the submission lock, the crowd went really nuts. They cheered her on whole-heartedly as she mounted a comeback. When she grabbed the kendo stick midair while Evelyn tried to once more use it to beat her up, the stadium almost blew its roof.

From that moment on, Selena mounted a very effective comeback with the support of the crowd behind her in a triumphant manner. Evelyn was left reeling and escaping from the ring by the end of that comeback.

Selena wasn’t done with Evelyn however.

She came outside and grabbed a steel chair, before marching towards a retreating Evelyn angrily. She didn’t wait for Evelyn to recover fully before smashing the steel chair right across Evelyn’s back.

The crowd loved this bit of payback. Until now, they had been forced to see Evelyn torment Selena with the kendo stick. So, they were entirely behind Selena getting some payback on Evelyn.

Evelyn arched her back and went down on her knees. Selena didn’t stop there. She once again smashed the chair on Evelyn’s back causing her to move away and try to avoid any more shots. But, Selena didn’t relent one bit. The next shot was to arm causing Evelyn to clutch it painfully and move away further.

When Selena tried to smash Evelyn’s head, Evelyn wisely dodged her attack and the chair slammed hard on the guardrail causing a ringing sound to echo across the stadium.

Luckily, this gave Evelyn a bit of breathing room. She raked Selena’s eyes when she turned back and moved further away from her. After being raked in the eye, Selena dropped the steel chair and went after Evelyn through the crowd.

Now the fight was in the audience section of the arena.

With Evelyn trailing ahead and Selena chasing after her, the duo managed to go deep into the crowd. They exchanged a few shots before Selena targeted the arm she had whacked with the chair earlier to gain an advantage.

Learning from Dacey, the duo used the crowd around them to their advantage. Evelyn would shove Selena into the fans while trying to escape. Selena, on the other hand, had a full home-field advantage amongst the fans.

She would grab a placard from a passerby fan and smash Evelyn with it to a great ovation. She would stop a bit and take a sip out of a fan’s drink to reenergize herself. She would use the atmosphere to get fired up and absolutely pummel Evelyn in the crowd.

Their fight through the crowd ultimately came to an end as they once more moved toward the ring. Selena chased after Evelyn and tried to come over the guardrail. However, wily Evelyn used that moment to take out Selena’s legs from under her.

She targeted one of Selena’s legs while she was halfway across the guardrail and delivered a vicious kick to her knee, causing Selena to collapse on the floor, much to the displeasure of the crowd.

Evelyn took a much-needed breather while Selena clutched her knee and rolled in pain on the floor. With that simple kick, Evelyn took back the momentum of the match from Selena.

With Evelyn in control, the match progressed to the final stages as Evelyn brought back a hobbling Selena into the ring. Putting Selena in a corner, Evelyn started working on Selena’s knee. The match took a slow pace for a while as both combatants prepared for the final sprint.

While the match became slow-paced, it didn’t mean that the in-ring action stopped. With Selena’s injured knee being worked over, Evelyn’s full-on heel personality came into display during this time.

Rob’s idea for this match was to set up Evelyn as a heel. Unlike Dacey’s chicken shit heel shtick, Evelyn’s heel persona focused on her sadistic tendencies. Hence, the approach he took to turn Evelyn heel was different.

Rob didn’t create overarching storylines and weeks of build-up to create a heel persona for Evelyn. After laying the basic groundwork, Rob decided to let Evelyn display her less-than-admirable characteristics during this match.

From attacking Selena before the bell rang to disrespecting Selena at every turn, Rob planted a seed in the audience both watching at home and in the arena to be dissatisfied with Evelyn.

Evelyn’s action of disrespecting fans and shoving them away during their brawl only added fuel to the already flickering embers. Not to mention Evelyn’s brutal usage of the kendo stick and her trying to choke Selena with the kendo stick. By the time Evelyn took out Selena’s knee, the crowd was already completely behind Selena organically.

But, Rob knew that this wasn’t enough. The crowd needed something more to completely shift the heat over Evelyn’s actions during this match to Evelyn’s persona completely. So, after discussing with Evelyn and Selena he had put the final nail in the coffin during the ending of the match.

Evelyn working over Selena’s knee was just a prelude to the ending. Rob had wracked his mind and come up with a sure-shot way to make the crowd hate Evelyn completely after this match.

As the match neared the end, Selena began hobbling more and more. Evelyn didn’t show any mercy to her injured opponent. She attacked the injured knee again and again. This showcased her sadistic side to the crowd in a much more efficient manner and made her an unappealing prospect to get behind. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The final stretch of the match came with Selena mounting a much-needed comeback while hobbling on one leg. This was yet another idea Rob had suggested to include in the match. The crowd always loved an underdog fighting against insurmountable odds.

With Evelyn’s dominance early on in the match and Selena’s current injury, Selena’s spirited fight against Evelyn currently was the stuff that makes underdogs shine in people’s eyes. People always respected and rooted for the person who fights even if there is no chance of their victory.

That grit, determination, and never give up attitude always invoked strong emotions in people’s hearts. The end of this match was designed to tug on those passionate heartstrings.

As Selena mounted her comeback while hobbling on one leg, the crowd roared in approval and encouraged her with their support. Selena’s pained expressions and her face that said that she wasn’t going to quit any time soon won the support of even the fence-sitters.

However, the fairy tale ending was just not on the cards tonight.

At one particular moment, Selena had Evelyn down on the mat. In order to go home big, Selena climbed the top rope and balanced upon one knee, and tried to deliver a moonsault.

Evelyn wisely rolled out of the way, causing Selena to crash land on the mat. The commentators emphasized how that landing might have further injured Selena’s knee, much to the concern of the crowd.

Evelyn was like a wolf that smelled an injured prey. She immediately pounced on Selena and applied a submission maneuver targeting Selena’s injured knee. The commentators went nuts and kept shouting that it wasn’t needed. They reiterated the fact that even if Selena tapped out, Evelyn can only win via pinfall in this match.

In the ring, the referee pleaded with Evelyn to let go as she can’t call off the match as tapouts don’t count in this match. But, Evelyn didn’t let Selena go. She only further cinched in the lock and showcased a sadistic smile. Evelyn watched Selena writhe on the mat in pain with a sick smile on her face, much to the anger of the crowd.

Finally, the referee pulled Evelyn off Selena forcefully. Evelyn got pissed off that her fun was over and argued with the referee. But, the referee didn’t pay her any attention and focused on Selena and her injury.

Evelyn didn’t want to let it go. She got in the face of the referee and demanded an explanation not allowing him to check up on Selena. This caused tremendous dissatisfaction among the crowd.

Evelyn’s actions of preventing the referee from checking up on Selena made the crowd hate her. Even though the match wasn’t over, the crowd expected Evelyn to maintain a bit of professional courtesy. But, Evelyn wasn’t planning on giving her opponent that.

Finally, the referee shoved Evelyn away and started checking up on Selena. Evelyn who was shoved went outside and came back with a chair in hand. The referee got up seeing Evelyn with a chair and tried to reason with her.

"There is no need for that," the referee’s faint voice traveled over through the audio feed as the camera zoomed in on Evelyn and the referee arguing.

"The bell hasn’t rung yet. The match isn’t over," Evelyn’s voice traveled over as well.

"She is in no state to compete,"

"The bell hasn’t rung yet. Move!"

"I will grant you the victory and call off the match. Just don’t do it,"

"Move!"

Evelyn shoved the referee away. Right at that time, Selena sat up clutching her knee. Evelyn whacked Selena right across the back with the chair and Selena crumbled down on the mat.

The referee came rushing to check on her. Seeing Evelyn’s foot pressing on Selena’s chest, he quickly counted a fast three count and finished the match before Evelyn could even react.

When the referee gestured to ring the bell, Evelyn became angry and got in his face. It was clear to everyone watching that Evelyn didn’t want the match to be over. She wanted to punish Selena more. But, the referee took the matter into his hands and ended the match with a sneaky fast count.

With the match ending, Evelyn didn’t have any right to attack Selena anymore. Every time Evelyn tried to go after Selena in her anger, the referee blocked her way and gestured for her to exit the ring.

A frustrated Evelyn left the ring with the chair in her hand. She smashed the chair on the steel steps to show her anger and frustration. The security personnel also rushed in to escort her backstage causing her to have no option but to retreat.

As security escorted her to the back, the referee and medical personnel started checking up on Selena, who was clutching her knee in pain. When a stretcher was brought over, Selena refused to board it and still got up on her one leg.

She refused the referee’s assistance and hobbled her way back on one leg. The crowd respected her tenacity and gave her a standing ovation on her way back. With the final act of walking back on her own legs, Selena won the approval and love of the crowd in an overwhelming manner.

Selena paused on the entrance stage and gave a heartfelt bow to the crowd, causing the crowd to chant her name in response very vocally. Selena looked almost overwhelmed by the reaction she was getting. But, she somehow managed to contain her emotions and walked backstage.

Rob let out a pleased smile on the commentary table seeing the crowd giving a standing ovation to Selena’s exit backstage. He knew that he had created another babyface that was going to be different from Diana.

If he booked her properly, Selena could become a great rival to both Evelyn and Dacey in the long run. Furthermore, the portrayal of a vicious sadistic heel Evelyn has also been a great success.

With this single match, Rob had created a top heel and a top babyface for the women’s division. He couldn’t be happier anymore than this. His plan for the women’s division looked more and more promising to him now.

With Dacey and Diana as the spearhead, and Evelyn, Selena, and Alanna supporting the duo, he now had a top-notch women’s division in his mind. If he could find appropriate storylines for them to work with, then the women’s division of LWC will start to rise in the immediate future.
