Chapter 960 Chapter 960 Sacrifice

"Just who the hell are you?! You will be hanged for your t…" An angry guard in the house chastised the rude remarks of this new arrival.

"A maggot dares speak before me?"

"PUCHI!" Blood rained upon the scene as the sad guard practically exploded on the spot. Nobody could tell how the guard died or what caused it.

"MURDER!" A woman screamed in the place. Nevertheless, everyone who heard her was frozen in shock since they realized the dire implications of what happened.

"A sorcerer!" Another soul exclaimed to report the obvious to the others.

"It can't be! It has been years since our city has been visited by their kind! What do they want from Oceancastle this time around!" A bold noble made his thoughts known.

The last time they had to give people and various resources unto these naughty breed of powerhouses. To resist simply was a wish for dreamers.

There was a ruckus around and it lingered for more than a full minute and has not known any hint of subsiding anytime soon.

It did not need telling that a sorcerer amidst them was both a blessing and a curse. Not a few of the nobles present today were already silently planning to gain something from this rare occurrence.

"Welcome to the humble house of Bronzestar, honored guest! Please take a seat amongst us." Lacey's father was the first one to address this unexpected visitor.

He was wise enough to pay a blind eye to the killing that had occurred earlier.

One should know that even with all his guards and knights in his home, the lot of them would still be at the mercy of this wicked sorcerer.

Might and numbers were proven to be ineffective against the greatest of magic users on this world.

"This place bores me but that girl does not. I expect you to send her to my chambers tonight. Now lead me to the grandest room on this wretched place." The evil sorcerer demanded in a carefree manner.

He did not even have to wait for anyone's reply before he began walking to a particular destination in mind. It was clear that he had surveyed this whole domain at this time already.

Such a nifty trick was indeed a nice one to possess in times like these.

"…" A pregnant paused occurred before the oldest Bronzestar chose to break the silence with a command.

"Go to him, Lacey. This is a sacrifice that you must make for us all. Serve him well and maybe you might get some benefits in the aftermath." The man of the house decreed in a solemn.

Although he appeared calm but his tightly clenched fists told all there was to say about his true feelings upon this vulgar assault.

He did not care and nourish his daughter from young until now just to be plundered by rape and force. Alas, he was powerless to stop the whims of an accomplished sorcerer.

"But father…" Lacey wanted to argue but she stopped when she gazed unto the bowed heads of the audience. A few of them looked at her with pity and it broke her heart to see from them.

She realized that she had no choice but to go. Tales abounded about crazy sorcerers in the land who was prone to all vices easily within reach for the powerful.

"I'm sorry." Lacey murmured beneath her breath as she could not look at the face of her beloved at this time.

She wanted to fall in love and she did but Lacey has not foreseen for something like this to befall upon her.

The heavens were truly unpredictable if not outright cruel to the most luckless mortals under its heights.

"You don't need to go, Lacey. Just stay here and let me show you something unforgettable." Our bored gamer answered in a mere whisper also.

He then followed with a few steps to get the attention of the haughty sorcerer in the distance.

"Come back here or die!" Clark roared at the back of the mighty sorcerer. He got no reaction from the latter but everyone else around him has something to say about what he did.

"Fool! Shut your mouth at once!"

"Brother!"

"Clark!"

"Stupid boy!"

The rest had their opinion about what transpired before their eyes and they could not help but tremble at the coming fury of the only sorcerer in their midst.

"Don't test me, lad. I shall forgive your offence just this once. Go home and cry. This world is not for weaklings like you." The sorcerer said in a serious tone.

It was easy to see that he also had a story to tell. Nevertheless, our very own protagonist was not that excited to hear about them tonight.

"Indeed." This was Clark's only response and said no more.

"DING!"

"What!" The sorcerer flopped to the floor in pain. The mystical energies that he honed for countless centuries seemed to go crazy inside his body.

He tried to control its chaotic dance but was ravaged once more by an excruciating sting and torture. It felt like his body was slowly disintegrating before him.

He tried to stifle everything down but it was a futile attempt at best.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" The evil sorcerer screamed and five minutes straight until he was nothing more but a sorry rag that rolled wantonly on the feet of mortals.

At its crescendo, another impossible feat of magic happened in conclusion.

"WHOOSH!" The nameless sorcerer flew vertical breaking through the roof and all until he was but a speck of shadow in everyone's eyes.

The majority followed the exit and run outside to witness the finale of this strange string of events. 𝙗𝙚𝙙𝒏𝙤𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝒄𝙤𝙢

Another five minutes elapsed and they were rewarded for their efforts.

"BANG!" An epic picture flashed in the sky. Blood, body, flesh, and magic detonated to color the night into day.

It was a display of perfectly orchestrated fireworks catered to the fantasy of men and sorcerers alike. This went on for about an hour nonstop. It ceased with an extraordinary stillness thereafter.

"Did… that sorcerer... die?" A voice asked but no one has the answer for that. In the end, they went back in and assaulted our bored gamer with intent questioning gazes.

'SIGH!'

'There goes my cover of being lowkey.' Clark took a deep breath of acceptance.
