Chapter 108: Chapter 108

"Konoha ninja! If you’re going to kill me, make it quick!"

"Don’t worry. I will."

Saitama’s foot lashed out, landing a brutal kick squarely on the enemy’s jaw.

Crack!

The sickening sound of bone snapping echoed. The shinobi’s mandible disconnected from his skull. His jaw hung uselessly, flapping but unable to close.

"Urgh... ah... gah!"

Terror flickered in the enemy’s eyes. He realized what was coming next and thrashed harder, panic overtaking his pain.

Saitama raised his hand. Lightning crackled between his fingers. Chidori-style current burst from his palm, striking the enemy’s severed wrist. The stench of seared flesh filled the air as the bleeding was cauterized, but the effect was gruesome.

Hissssssss!

The shinobi writhed on the ground, only to be pinned again by Saitama’s foot.

"Stay down."

The electric current danced in Saitama’s hand as he struck again—this time directly into the man’s torso.

"Aaaaagh!"

The enemy shrieked in agony. He couldn’t break free, his body twitching under the steady stream of electricity.

"Kill me already!" he begged, his body convulsing, scorched and twitching uncontrollably.

But Saitama wasn’t finished.

Crackle!

He ramped up the voltage. The screams intensified.

"Please... please!" the shinobi sobbed. His vision was nearly gone, eyes glazed over, and he turned toward Saitama with what little awareness he had left.

"You’re loud."

Saitama’s blade flashed. A swift, clean slash ended the man’s suffering.

Then he turned to the unconscious enemy lying nearby. With a spark of lightning, he jolted him awake.

"AAAAHH!" The enemy woke to pain as the current surged through his body.

Saitama repeated the process. The same brutal punishment—lightning, pain, suffocating pressure—until the second shinobi’s broken body joined the first.

Rustle!

At last, the remaining members of Saitama’s team arrived. Two figures landed silently on a nearby tree branch.

"Captain...?"

Uchiha Yan called out hesitantly. The sight below was disturbing: the acrid smell of charred flesh, the corpses barely recognizable, and Saitama standing amid it all—smiling.

"It’s fine."

Saitama let out a slow breath and waved them over.

"Clean up the bodies."

Even in death, enemy corpses were valuable. If the brains were intact, they could still extract intelligence through the Yamanaka Clan’s techniques.

Uchiha Yan moved forward, drew a scroll, and began sealing the remains efficiently.

"Let’s go. We still need to clean up the village."

Saitama turned and began walking back toward the smoldering ruins of the settlement.

He hadn’t expected to feel this way. He passed through that village just that morning—exchanged a few words with the locals. Now they were all gone. Killed while he was out on patrol. Under his watch.

The helplessness gnawed at him. He clenched his fists.

"Understood."

The Uchiha brothers followed silently. They remembered those villagers too. The loss hit all of them.

They returned to the village. The fire had burned itself out. Ashes and rubble remained.

"Fire Style—let’s bury it."

Saitama turned to Uchiha Huo. He knew the boy had Earth Release.

"Earth Release: Opening Earth Severing Palm!"

Uchiha Huo slammed his palm to the ground. Chakra pulsed outward, splitting the earth beneath the ruins. The soil shifted and rose, covering the burnt remains with solemn finality.

"...Let’s go."

Saitama stood silently for a moment before turning away. He had done all he could. The dead wouldn’t come back—but maybe this would give them peace.

The Uchiha brothers followed without a word. The patrol report still needed to be filed.

In war, the lives of shinobi were cheap.

The lives of civilians meant even less.

Two Days Later

Since the skirmish, two days had passed. Konoha’s scouting teams scoured the coastline, trying to locate the harbor hidden by the Hidden Mist.

They found nothing conclusive—just a construction site. But Tsunade made her decision.

"We’re destroying it anyway," she declared.

In the Konoha command camp, Tsunade stood tall, arms crossed.

"Alright, is everyone here?"

Saitama stood at attention, eyes sharp. He’d been enlisted for the operation.

"You all understand the mission? Or do I need to repeat it?" Tsunade’s voice was sharp as steel.

"We understand, Lady Tsunade!" Saitama answered crisply.

This time, Saitama wasn’t just a participant. He was captain of the vanguard team—leading nearly twenty jōnin and thirty chūnin.

Tsunade had chosen her formation carefully. The enemy couldn’t be underestimated. A large main force would follow after Saitama’s unit tore through the front.

They would crush the Hidden Mist and Bear Country’s conspiracy in one stroke.

"Good. I expect good news."

"Yes, ma’am!" Saitama saluted and turned to face the assembled ninja.

Each one stood ready—armed, armored, focused.

Saitama’s chest swelled with pride. His first mission as a field commander.

"Move out!"

"Yes!" came the unified roar.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Dozens of feet pounded the earth as the squad sprinted toward the gate. Saitama led from the front—focused, determined, unstoppable.
