Broken Bond: Claimed by My Ex-Husband's Alpha Billionaire Uncle-Chapter 14: Getting Back What Was Mine
Chapter 14: Getting Back What Was Mine
Since Priscilla left the Crimson Moon manor, Julian had sent hundreds of e-mail messages in just two days. His messages ranged from manipulative apologies to threats on her life.
[Charlotte, I’m wrong. Please go home.]
[I can’t sleep, I can’t eat. I’ve lost so much weight thinking about you].
[You know I’ve always loved you, right? I screwed up, but doesn’t everyone deserve a second chance?]
When Charlotte saw these messages, her mouth twitched in disgust. Her stomach churned and she wanted to throw up.
[What will people say when they find out you’ve been living with another man? You’re ruining your own reputation.]
She laughed. How could he say such a thing when he was the one who cheated with so many women? Instead of worrying about Charlotte’s reputation, Julian should worry about his own.
[But I’ll forgive you if you come home now.]
Charlotte’s hand clenched into a fist. Forgive her? For what?
[If you don’t come back, I won’t be responsible for what happens next, Charlotte]
[You know what I’m capable of.]
Her blood ran cold. The messages had taken a darker turn.
[Come home. Or else.] ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
A shiver ran down her spine as another email flashed on her screen.
[I don’t want to hurt you, Charlotte. I just want things to go back to the way they were. Don’t make me do something we’ll both regret.]
At this point, Charlotte felt that his threat was not just nonsense, but something she should be afraid of.
"Charlotte?" Damon’s voice broke through her reverie as he entered the garden. "It’s past midnight, why are you sitting here?"
Charlotte turned to see Damon wearing a long black coat. He looked like he had just gotten home from work. "I can’t sleep." She smiled weakly and showed him a pile of scripts on her lap. "I was going to read them tonight, but something is bothering me."
Damon draped his coat over her shoulders, then sat down next to Charlotte. "What’s wrong?"
Without speaking, Charlotte turned the screen toward him so Damon could read Julian’s emails. Damon’s expression darkened as he read the manipulative and threatening words.
"That bastard." Damon muttered, "I can’t believe I have a family as rotten as him."
Charlotte laughed softly. "What can I say? Family only shares blood, but each person’s behavior depends on that person."
Damon sighed and closed the email. "Screenshots of all his messages. We can use them to win in court."
"The court?" Charlotte sighed in despair. "I thought I could divorce him without through a tiring trial."
The Nocturnal Order could terminate a marriage as long as both parties agree and sign the divorce papers. But since Julian refused to sign, then The Nocturnal Order had to decide it through the courts.
But the good part was that Charlotte could file domestic violence charges against him. If she won in court, Julian would be severely punished, especially because he fucked too many humans.
"We will also fight for your fortunes," Damon said.
"My fortune?" Charlotte raised an eyebrow. Julian had taken everything that belonged to her, her royalties, her real estate, even her share of many companies.
At the time, he had forced her to change the ownership to his name so that Charlotte couldn’t run away from her marriage if she wanted to live on the leasury.
"By law, the assets you bring into the marriage are yours after the divorce. He may have put every asset in his name, but we can still fight for those assets in court. Especially if it’s proven that he manipulated or coerced you into signing those papers."
Damon told her, "Tomorrow my legal team will meet with you and we can discuss this further tomorrow."
Charlotte was speechless. She hadn’t expected Damon to do so many things to help her.
He even hired the legal team just for her.
How did she deserve a man like him? How could she repay him when money wasn’t enough to make up for what he had done to her?
"I ... I don’t know what to say." Charlotte looked into Damon’s gray eyes. "All this time, I thought I lost everything."
"I’m going to make sure to return what’s yours, Charlotte," Damon promised.
That night, Charlotte finally got a long, good night’s sleep because of that promise.

The next day, three lawyers arrived at Crimson Moon Manor. They were the best lawyers in the supernatural business and had won many cases in the Order’s court.
When Theodore led them to the Alpha’s study room, Damon and Charlotte were waiting for them. Charlotte stood and shook the lead attorney’s hand.
"Good morning, Mrs. Dawson." A tall man with straight brunette hair and hazel eyes smiled at her. "I’m Victor Hale, and these are my associates, Sophie Marks and Finn Blackwood. We’ve reviewed the preliminary details of your case, and I must say that the evidence you’ve gathered is enough to convince the judge to terminate your marriage to Mr. Julian Warren."
He continued, "However, we still have a lot of work to do to get your assets back from Mr. Warren."
They sat on the sofa while Finn opened the suitcase, and then placed the stack of documents on the table.
He shared a copy of the documents with Damon and Charlotte before saying, "Your divorce case is simple, but getting your assets back is a bit complicated."
Victor asked them to read the documents and said, "Mrs. Dawson, you didn’t sign a transfer of ownership like you think you did. In fact, you signed sales agreements. Mr. Warren officially purchased all of your assets, making them part of the marital estate instead of separate property."
Charlotte was dumbfounded by this statement. Julian had never let her read the documents, so she didn’t know the contents in detail. But what was the point of knowing? He would still ask her to sign those documents even though she was against it.
"You mean ... everything I owned is now legally his?" She clenched her fist. "No wonder he’s so confident I’ll be empty-handed after the divorce."
