The atmosphere in the palace dining hall grew increasingly tense as Das leisurely continued to eat his food, seemingly unfazed by the weight of the revelation about Leela’s connection to the mighty Farus family. Red Rose’s senses were on high alert, her hand never straying far from the concealed dagger at her side, ready to act if the situation escalated.
All eyes were on Leela, and she could feel the weight of judgment from the other girls as Das’s words lingered in the air. The room fell into an awkward silence, broken only by the clinking of cutlery against plates. Leela’s expression hardened, and she tried to regain her composure, well aware that Das had a habit of pushing people’s buttons.
"You know, Leela, I never thought you were linked to the mighty Farus family," Das remarked, his voice still light and playful, despite the tension in the air.
"You need to pay me the money for the laptop," he added casually, changing the subject momentarily.
Leela’s eyes narrowed in annoyance, but she chose to silent the matter at hand first.
However, he couldn’t resist adding another comment, his playful demeanour showing no signs of faltering. "And regarding your involvement in a brothel... well, that’s certainly an interesting choice of profession," he remarked, his words calculated to stir a reaction.
The other girls at the table exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of how to respond to such a revelation. Red Rose’s eyes narrowed further, her suspicions growing, but she remained silent, keeping a close watch on Leela’s every move.

Leela’s patience was wearing thin, but she knew she needed to keep her emotions in check. "I’m not working in a brothel," she clarified with a touch of annoyance. "I work as a receptionist at the Happy House, a high-class establishment known for its discretion and exclusivity."
Das smirked, enjoying the reaction he had elicited. "My apologies for the misunderstanding," he said, though his tone held a hint of mischief. "Receptionist or not, it’s still an interesting place to be associated with."
The anger on Leela’s face reached to a new extent as all the girls around table were giving her somewhat disgusting and judging looks. She immediately took out a dagger and launched towards Das. But it did not aimed at his body. The landed shiftily beside his resting hand on the dining table.
As the dagger landed beside his resting left hand on the table, Das remained composed and unfazed. But Das continued eating his food without even taking look at the dagger. Leela who is still in raze mode, picked another dagger from her waist. But before she took an aim, a shining sharp dagger which is only a finger length landed beside her finger on the table.
Red Rose who already lost her patience throw that dagger with great precision. Leela’s eyes went wide open as she couldn’t find out the person who throw that dagger. Her gaze lingered on the small dagger which is still shaking like vibrator beside her finger.
Das who saw this interaction calmly lifted his gaze to meet Leela’s eyes and activated his special vision, scanning the weapons concealed on her body. Leela, who possessed her own special psychic powers because of the family heirloom spirit, immediately sensed his gaze and instinctively covered her chest with both hands, fearing that he might be able to see through her clothes.
But her initial irritation grew as Das maintained his playful smile, seemingly unaffected by her actions. "Don’t think you can intimidate me," she retorted, trying to regain her composure.
Das chuckled softly. "Intimidate? Far from it," he said, a glint of curiosity in his eyes. "I’m merely intrigued by your capabilities. You seem to be quite skilled."
Leela’s anger flared at his seemingly condescending response. She had not anticipated that Das would be so casual in the face of her attempt to intimidate him. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice tinged with irritation.
"First, stop using weapons." Das said, gesturing towards the weapon still pinned to the table. "There’s no need for hostility here."
Leela hesitated for a moment before reluctantly pulling the dagger (Dagger of Red Rose) from the table and sheathing it. She kept her guard up, ready to defend herself if necessary.
"Now, why don’t we talk like civilised people?" Das suggested, with a warm smile.
Leela eyed him warily before calming down. The other girls around the table continued to eat, though their attention was now divided between the meal and the unfolding situation.
As the tension eased, Das’s playful demeanour returned. "Now that we’ve cleared the air," he said, "how about you tell me why you’re really here?"
"I already said, am here to escort you," she admitted, her voice firm. "Princess Amara of the Farus family requests your presence."
Das raised an eyebrow, not entirely surprised by her response. "Ah, so you’re here to forcefully take me," he said, a hint of amusement in his tone.
Leela nodded. "If necessary," she replied. "But Princess Amara hopes you will come willingly."
Das leaned back in his seat, appearing to contemplate her request. "I must say, I’m flattered that the Farus family would go to such lengths to invite me," he remarked, his playful smile returning.
Leela’s frustration grew as she sensed his reluctance to comply. "This is not an invitation," she said firmly. "It is an order."
Das chuckled. "Well then, I suppose I have no choice but to accept," he said, his tone teasing.
Leela’s eyes narrowed, realising that he was not taking her seriously. "This is not a joke," she snapped.
"I understand," Das said, his demeanour becoming more serious. "But before I leave, I have one condition."
Leela raised an eyebrow, waiting to hear his condition.
"I will accompany you to meet Princess Amara," Das said, "but only after I finish my meal."
Leela opened her mouth to protest, but before she could say anything, Das continued, "It won’t take long, I promise."
Reluctantly, Leela agreed, realising that she had little choice but to wait. As Das returned to his meal, the atmosphere in the dining hall remained tense. The other girls exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of what would happen next. Princess Serena watched the scene with wide eyes, silently observing the interaction between Leela and Das.
As the minutes passed, the tension slowly eased, and the dining hall returned to a semblance of normalcy. But beneath the surface, both Leela and Das knew that their encounter had set in motion a series of events that would change the course of their lives forever.
