Building a Safe Zone with My Harem In The Post-Apocalyptic World-Chapter 116: CHAOS
Gideon rubbed his chin. "Ugh... this reminds me of a corporation that caused a zombie outbreak," he murmured.
"What did you say? I didn’t catch that." Delilah tilted her head slightly.
"Nothing... but you’re a researcher, right? Have you ever worked with that corporation? Or had any inside information about them?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Delilah shook her head. "No... I only made it to junior researcher after graduating. I got married not long after, and then I had Summer. I decided to become a housewife."
Gideon’s eyes widened slightly. "I see... that’s a shame. You’re really smart. I thought all that information about aberrants came from you."
Delilah let out a small breath. "Oh, no. That was my husband. I only assisted him." She looked a little uncomfortable before adding, "Please, keep reading. We shouldn’t stay here too long."
Gideon found himself a bit surprised.
Summer and Freya had always explained aberrant behavior in detail, often referencing their mother’s work. They rarely mentioned their father, so he had assumed everything came from Delilah.
And from what Kilian had said, she was always the one cleaning up Leon’s problems. He had thought she did far more than just assist him.
Gideon lowered his gaze back to the document. He was already close to the end.

Life expectancy among subjects derived from X-1 ("Eye of Calamity") has shown measurable improvement and stabilization. Subjects are now capable of sustaining physiological conditions comparable to baseline human standards.
However, persistent behavioral abnormalities remain. Subjects exhibit a continuous destructive impulse that cannot be fully suppressed.
Incident Report Summary:
Power escalation to critical levels observed within 3 months of development
Over 100 recorded incidents involving uncontrolled ability activation
Confirmed casualties exceed 300 personnel
Further study indicates that subject abilities increase in strength through disruption and destabilization of surrounding environments.
This mechanism is notably distinct from previously documented subjects classified under ———, whose abilities are aligned with environmental harmony and adaptive support.
Classification Update:
X-1 Derived Subjects: "Chaos"
——— Subjects: "Order"
X-1 lineage has been officially classified as a high-risk biological threat.
Termination is authorized in cases where behavioral control cannot be achieved.

Gideon blinked. With so many logs missing or destroyed, he hadn’t expected to find records of other children involved in the research.
"This ’Order Child’... it must be from the Eden Project, right?"
Delilah nodded. "Based on simple deduction, yes. That would make the most sense."
Then Henry must be one of the X-1 children.
The description matched too well. His power. The way he leaned toward chaos, toward destruction. And if what Johan said was true, that the zealots were trying to bring about another apocalypse...
Then what about the others?
"Do the members... also have chaos-type abilities?" Gideon murmured, rubbing his chin.
But thinking about it, their behavior didn’t quite match. They threw their lives away too easily. That didn’t feel like power.
So why did they follow Henry so blindly?
Were they brainwashed?
Since they functioned like a cult... that seemed likely.
In his previous world, there had been similar cases. Destructive cults that killed outsiders, or even their own members, offering them up as sacrifices.
Just like the Scions of the Lord.

Behavioral suppression therapy has demonstrated partial effectiveness. Subjects can be temporarily stabilized, though long-term compliance remains unreliable.
Following multiple failed containment strategies, revised application protocols have been approved.
Conclusion:
Optimal utilization of X-1 subjects is through controlled deployment as military assets.
A specialized training program is currently under development.
Subjects are to be conditioned for combat roles under strict supervision.
Strategic Note:
X-1 subjects represent a significant advancement in future warfare capability.

Formation of specialized unit initiated.
Designation: X-1 Tactical Set (Testing Phase)
Current roster includes subjects with distinct and varied ability manifestations:
X-14999 — Control over mutated organisms
X-13661 — Induced rooting effect on contacted surfaces and organisms
X-16334 — Neural and mental disruption capabilities

Further evaluation required before deployment authorization.

The log in this section was in far worse condition than the others. Gideon could barely read anything. Most of it had been scratched out with messy scribbles instead of the usual clean black redactions, and only half of the pages were still there.
Even the numbering was off, jumping from 101 to 111, as if ten pages had simply vanished.
"This one was definitely destroyed by someone else," he said, studying the damage more carefully. The way it was ruined felt different.
Delilah nodded. "Not just that. Some of the pages were taken, not destroyed."
She pulled the document closer, flipping through it as her fingers brushed over the torn edges. "Whoever did this wanted the data... either to hide it or to use it."
"Do you think your husband did it?"
She jolted slightly and looked at him, her expression complicated. "I... I don’t know. He was the one who found these documents, but..." Her voice trailed off as she bit her lip.
Gideon watched her for a moment, weighing whether he should push further. This part of the log clearly described Henry’s ability, the one that allowed him to control aberrants.
And if the five members of the X-1 Tactical Set were still alive, then sooner or later they would become a problem.
If he understood their abilities, he could at least prepare himself for when that time came. Because it would come. He was certain of it.
"Delilah..." His voice lowered slightly. "Is your husband really dead, or did he run away to pursue all of this?"
She didn’t answer. Her expression alone gave it away, shock flickering across her face like she had been caught in something she wasn’t supposed to reveal. Her hands trembled slightly before she hid them behind her back.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about. He’s dead."
Gideon knew it was a lie. The hesitation in her voice, the way her body reacted, it was all too obvious. Still, he chose not to press her further.
Call it repayment.
She and her daughters had never forced him to talk about his past, so he would do the same for her. Let her keep what she wasn’t ready to say.
He lowered his gaze back to the document and turned to the next entry, the last one left.

[30 JUL 2039]
X-1 core entity ("Eye of Calamity") has entered an accelerated growth phase.
Size Progression:
Previous: 170 cm (height) / 100 cm (width)
Current: ~300 cm (height) / 250 cm (width)
Internal imaging confirms significant embryonic development. Morphology now resembles a reptilian structure, with elongated, serpentine characteristics.
All containment and suppression attempts have failed.
Intervention measures appear to stimulate further growth rather than inhibit it.
Observation:
Embryonic movement has increased in frequency and intensity. It is highly probable that ongoing experimentation is accelerating maturation of the entity.
Immediate reassessment of containment strategy required.
Research directive updated to include:
Methods of termination
Preservation and extraction of albumen for continued study
