Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 259: Havoc
He appeared beside the ship and shot his beam of attack directly at the shield of the ship. With such close proximity, the shield cracked, and another beam made the attack reach the ship itself.
Before the ship could retaliate and the other ships beside it could do anything, he had disappeared again. The flying ships all turned to each other warily, waiting for Atrox to appear, but they saw nothing. Then suddenly, a red light bloomed below them.
A box-shaped object made of red light had suddenly appeared, and based on the painful screaming they heard, it was not something friendly.
The flying ships flew down towards it, and when they got there, they saw that their Errant Knights were already attacking the thing that looked suspiciously like a cage—a small, portable cage.
They heard what had happened. Some Knights were trapped inside, and they were a unit of Errant Knights that had suddenly seen a tower appear beside them.
With their barrage of attacks, they saw cracks starting to form on the cage, but then the thing suddenly disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. But the tower? It had disappeared again.
Their Errant Knights lay on the ground in smoking heaps.
And so the fighting continued. Atrox decided not to fight them head-on again and began using a combination of sneak attacks. They did not know where he would appear next, and all of that was making them weary. They slipped and made mistakes, and he was there to make them regret it.
Since he was in the tower, only those at the Master Knight rank and above could stop him, and there were none there. That meant Atrox was wreaking havoc among the army. The funny thing was that they could not pin him down and attack him all at once, which would have caused serious damage.
Atrox could disappear at any time, and he made a sleeping law around himself that weakened his opponents, making them slower whenever the tower appeared.
Meanwhile, Vorath realized what was happening too late. He realized that Takoda was not taking their fight too seriously. The man just kept fighting in a way that pinned him down, keeping him away from Atrox and the chaos he was causing.
"You bastards! So this is your plan? To destroy my army?" Warlord Vorath shouted as he watched red waves of fire cover the ground, pouring out of the tower like liquid fire.
Takoda gestured, and the stones around him shattered before reforming into giant hands that he sent at Vorath to hold him. But the warlord would not let himself be restrained. Five giant swords made of rusted metal stood around him, cutting down Takoda’s stone hands.
Takoda was not too worried. There were simply so many stones floating around him that he knew he could stall the fight as long as he wanted.
Vorath created spikes of metal and hurled them at him. At the same time, he turned and hurled spikes at the tower. Takoda would have told him it was useless, but he let the man have his moment of joy before Atrox’s tower disappeared just as the metal spikes were about to hit it.
Vorath cursed and turned angry eyes on Takoda, who simply shrugged. "What do you expect after you betrayed us? You see that Thrain isn’t even coming to your aid. That’s because he does not trust you."
Vorath gritted his teeth. "You are all weaklings. If the chasms didn’t exist, you would have accepted us as overlords."
Takoda raised his brows and pointed down in confusion. "With that army?"
Vorath roared in fury and lunged forward. His body peeled open, and blades grew out of him as if they were extra limbs, each shining with rust-colored light.
Takoda met him with his body covered in layers of stone. The two clashed in midair with bone-snapping impact, causing a small shockwave to spread. Stones and pieces of metal fell as they continued to fight.
Atrox was still wreaking havoc below, the ground around his tower charred and smoking. He no longer moved, letting the Knights come to him instead.
But that was the problem. With the law surrounding the area, anyone who got within range would slow down immediately as sleep began to take over, turning them sluggish.
And it was only a matter of shooting them off with fire beams and waves of flame.
It went on like that. Bodies surrounded him in heaps, and it might have continued that way if not for the sudden intrusion. It seemed Thrain had finally decided to get involved. A Master Knight who was not trying to hide their intention was approaching fast.
Atrox jerked his tower upward and disappeared, appearing beside Takoda and absorbing him before the tower disappeared again, teleporting further away.
Vorath growled and gave chase, shooting after them like a released arrow, but the tower was faster. Using a combination of teleportation and speed, they shot forward faster than the warlord, leaving him far behind.
Warlord Vorath had to stop chasing them and return to his army. His face was knotted in anger as he stared at the destruction that had ravaged his men.
Never had anything like that happened to him before, not since he created his company and made a name for himself. He bristled with rage. Metal formed and rusted away around him in reaction to his fury. "Atrox of Soryu!"
What made him even angrier was the fact that he had only himself to blame. "I should have expected this! It’s something anyone would do, and normally I would be wary, but I thought them too weak! Shit! Only two of them, but they managed to lay so much waste to my men!"
He turned on his sword and flew toward the Master Knight who had just arrived from Thrain’s camp. He needed someone to lash out at, and the man had come at the right time.
Terrix Choxa. They had been introduced in Thrain’s camp and had recently shared drinks. But right then, Vorath formed a sword and rushed at the man, who raised a sword of light in response. The two clashed in midair.
