Building An Empire Starting From The Labor Camp In Exile-Chapter 275: Next Action
Shock made Atrox hold his breath. Terrix stood there with his wings of light that had lost their earlier brilliance, but he was no less imposing.
He was facing Pomora, who looked at him with a shocked expression. Her chest had been torn away, the ribs shattered into thousands of pieces, and the flesh turned to burning pulp.
Not only that, the damage continued downward, twisting through her stomach until her body looked as if something had been used to continuously smash her.
It was a horrifying sight that tightened Atrox’s gut.
By fighting together, he had come to respect her and Takoda a whole lot. They were the first real power that supported him, and it was something that he cherished.
But instead of the fear, grief, and anger that should have appeared on Atrox’s face, what he was feeling was relief and anticipation.
The red blood gushing from Pomora’s body slowly changed from red to light pink and then to tainted water. Atrox realized it at the same time as Terrix.
Pomora’s damaged body collapsed into water, then the water separated into bigger droplets that fired at him with blinding speed.
Terrix whipped his head around as he searched for her, but suddenly, he realized something. It was raining again. When did it start?
He was still staring at the sky when he suddenly looked down.
A wave of water was surging toward him. And it wasn’t ordinary water. It was tainted a sickly green like vomit and coiled into the shape of a giant snake with its mouth open wide to swallow Terrix whole.
Terrix didn’t immediately fight back. Instead, his wings folded around him, creating a shield. The green water smashed into him, the snake turning into a crushing wave powerful enough to send him flying across the air.
Pomora appeared. Water condensed, and there she was, whole and very much alive. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Atrox breathed in relief. He had seen Pomora use that water technique before, but he didn’t know she could make a clone of herself using water.
Terrix soon recovered and flew back. The spear he was holding lit up, the tip glowing brightly with a sharp burst of light like tiny stars.
He raised it and aimed. Not at Pomora but straight at Atrox.
Time seemed to slow as Atrox saw the beam of light coming toward him. He wanted to call his cloak to shield him, but he realized that he had no essence left.
Not only that, he was up in the air. How was he supposed to avoid it? Besides, an attack from a Master Knight wasn’t so easy to evade since there must be hidden tricks in it.
His eyes constricted into slits, and in that instant, his brain told him there was no way to avoid the attack. Unless he was good enough to slash it with his sword. But what about the explosion that would follow?
There was someone who was a faster thinker than him. As Knights advanced through the ranks, not only did their physical bodies improve, but so did their brains.
The ability to process things at lightning speed allowed their minds to keep up with the changes in their bodies. As a Master Knight, Pomora could think far faster than Atrox.
She didn’t overreact and only gestured.
Just when the thin beam of light was about to reach Atrox, the water shield he was in simply shifted to the side. That was it. It simply shifted, and he was able to dodge it.
Atrox blinked. "Well. I guess there’s that option."
Even Terrix was surprised. He looked from Atrox to Pomora, his wings flapping gently. He opened his mouth, likely to hurl more insults, but something happened.
He swayed in the air, shook his head as if trying to clear it, and then shook again. He dipped down as if he would fall to the ground, but he didn’t. "Wha...at’s happppening?"
His words slurred like a drunkard, and his eyes glazed over. Then he fell. He fell right out of the sky with his wings of light dissipating into nothing.
His golden armor and spear also vanished.
Atrox could only stare in surprise. "What just happened?"
Pomora floated over and smiled brightly at him. "I drugged him."
"What?" Atrox blinked. The water surrounding him turned into a platform.
"That attack earlier, the one with the green water, was poisoned. Don’t worry. It won’t kill him, just knock him out for a while. Did he think he could guard against water that successfully?"
Atrox shuddered. He remembered that Pomora was indeed a poison master. She had lots of different poisonous plants and herbs back in her garden in the borderland. He didn’t want to imagine what she could do with poisoned rain.
She flew them both down, and sure enough, Terrix seemed to be sleeping. "What do you want to do with him?"
Atrox shrugged. He dragged a tree stump over and sat on it. Then he used his binding power to tighten the sword’s seal so the power wouldn’t disappear and he wouldn’t mistakenly use it on himself.
"What else can we do except leave him be? He’s still useful. Unless you can find a way to bind him for me till he wakes up. Ah! What a night. I’ve not been this tired from a fight in a long time!"
Pomora removed something from her spatial ring, a small bottle, and then crouched beside the sleeping Terrix. She fed it to him, using her water ability to make him swallow it. "Homemade. This will make using essence difficult for some time when he wakes."
She turned to him. "So how are you feeling?"
Atrox raised his brows and gestured for the tower to come closer. "How?"
"Yes. You just killed your brother, after all, even though he was also trying to kill you."
Atrox frowned slightly. "How I’m feeling? Well, I’m feeling unsatisfied. He died too easily and didn’t even suffer. If Terrix wasn’t here, then I would have made things slow. I feel cheated."
Pomora raised her brows and then nodded. "What’s your next line of action?"
